Omg! They've just fallen asleep and I was actually sitting here crying my eyes out after how they acted today. And everyone just kept looking at us. .my son has "ADHD" and is just sooo rowdy and just does cartwheels everywhere and running around and and sliding along the floor. I mainly stay isolated from society because of this behaviour. I actually was brave today and took them into a coffee shop , I knew it was a bad idea, when we got in there my youngest 5 yrs old doing cartwheels and skidding along the floor and then he ended up crashing over the whole display table with the Costa mugs smashing all on the floor , then every one just stating at me like I can't control my children. But actually they aren't bad children they are so kind and loving and well mannered however they are just unable to stay still and always always messing around with eachother. I just stay home, I can't go to anyone's house I can't go in shops I can't go to family because I just get criticised. . They are also homeschooled also for this reason . We mainly go to large parks and nature walks ect they enjoy this and so do I Because no one is around to judge us and I can actually have some time with them without having to tell them to stay still or keep quiet or nag them at all.

My heart goes out to you momma! This must be so hard! Try to find a local support group where you can get support from other moms, a local bible study group, etc. Go to places that are stress free such as hiking, the beach, lakes, open field parks. Invite one other momma that understands the struggles. Never lose hope!

@@JadyA Thank you for this advice. I do believe everything is a blessing in its own way, so because of this we have such a close bond and to be honest it's what has lead me to homeschooling which I feel is much more beneficial for them especially in the times we are living in. And also they have and I have become very fit and active as we are always exploring nature. We're from the UK so there are so many beautiful nature reserves and hiking landscapes ect. Also due to them being so active and boisterous and rowdy lol screens hardly work for them so that's an amazing blessing in itself I think lol although I don't get a second for myself at all but I have learnt to embrace it due to finding happiness in supporting my children in the way that they need support and putting there needs first I realised that is our duty as mother's 💓
I just hate the judgement from others though and that's why I just stay away from everyone as no one ever seems to understand. And if it means I have to give up having friends , going to coffee shops lol or restaurants then so be it at least I put them first x

I know God sent me to our channel. For homeschooling, teaching my kids to read and this video is perfect timing I have been so frustrated with the way my kids 3 & 5 act at the grocery store and park. Thank You for all your hard work you are such a blessing with your fantastic and always insightful advice. I have been working hard to change the way I react to the way they are acting and I am already seeing small improvements to their actions. I have also scraped my reading curriculum and am just following the way you use and I am seeing great improvements in that as well. Thank you Jady!!

Lovely video. I practice the "preparation" method myself, since my 13 y/o daughter was a baby (first child) and my now 8 y/o son, and it works. If we go to the store, they know what Im looking for and they know not be asking for anything for me to buy them depending on my budget. I sometimes do get a little toy or item for them, usually from Dollar Tree, just to reward them occasionally. But Im highly supportive of talking to your kids and expressing your expectations from them in EVERY aspect of their life. People always tells me that my children express themselves like "adults", very respectful and using words they fully understand. I dont thing any less of them, they are human beings livings with me, under my care.

Such golden advice Jady. Thank you so much. Love the advice about prepping our kids by telling them our expectations. That was a game changer for me taking my two toddlers to the playground. When I told them exactly what I expect and consequences if they protest leaving etc. they totally were on board and super cooperative. They expressed they wanted to play longer but bc they knew the plan, they got in the wagon without an angry protest.
Thank you for your great advice ❤️❤️❤️

This video is great ❤️. Something my mother reminds me from time to time is to go over what we will be doing with my children before we go, so that when we arrive at the place, they already know what’s expected of them, and through the time, remind them what we talked about. I really like how you touched on pulling the child aside to correct the behavior, giving them warnings and following through. These things are so important and make a big difference in the child’s life. They learn boundaries, consequences, and how to behave, learning from their lessons and it’s done with love.

Thank you so much, I was brought up with authoritative parents. We got spanked and there was a lot of violence in our family. It wasn't all bad but that is what was instilled in me as a child. I don't want to be that way with my children. I want to try other ways of discipline other than yelling and spanking or " you do this my way because I said so." It's really hard to break the chain. I'm really thankful for your ideas on discipline because I haven't been shown any other way so I appreciate you.

This is exactly what we have been doing with our little boys. They arent perfect, but behaving well is a skill that requires practice and consistency. I also believe setting them up for successful completion of outings is important. So if I see warning signs that they are starting to have a difficult time controlling themselves, we end the activity. I think it does help them start to know their own limits and when they need a break.

My daughter the same and she was very young 2 years old and I never understood why does she do this only in public …she is a different person when we are alone …I did get the answers though she has extreme ADHD I knew that before the diagnosis age five… her father has …but she also has sensory overload… she suffers from the environment change and all the people, noises and new environment over stimulates her and she reacts badly. She also knows how others respond to her with distain and it builds the bad reaction. She is eight now and I still learn every day how hard it is for her now she can describe to me what she feels when out of our house, all the small things that overwhelm her that I do not even notice. Your child may have the same. Sensory processing disorder.

What do you do if they are fine with leaving? Sometimes it's not somewhere they want to be. I have told my children we're going to leave the stores or church if they keep misbehaving, and they just say okay let's leave. It's almost like they are happy they misbehaved because now they can leave. If I make them sit with me they make a big scene or keep trying to move away from me and it is so distracting for everyone. I just dont know what to do. I have grounded them and they just beg and beg and say they will do better next time. However they do not do better. Everyday is repeating myself over and over of the rules that they already know, rather it's in public or at home.

    PREPERATION!!!! YES!
Making sure your child is well fed and well rested is the key to helping your child behave there best. #2 would be to slow down and talk to them. Just saying no no no to a child at the store is a recipe for a breakdown. Explain and compromise with them instead of just saying no.

what do you recommend when its something they don't want to do and act up, if i just leave they get what they want and may continue to act that way anytime we do something they don't like? I went to the store today with my 1 and 3 year old, the 3 year old was grabbing at everything, pulling on clothes, he'd start wiggling and screaming about which way he wanted the stroller to go. I made the mistake of taking him out of the stroller and he started crawling around, running and grabbing things. i would try to pull him aside and talk to him but he would just laugh in my face. I then tried holding him and he kept wiggling and yelling to let him go, it was embarrassing to say the least. I know i should have just left but sometimes we are going to have to do things they don't want to do and it scares me when things like this happen.

Do I leave the place and have the other sibling suffer the consequences too? How can I explain this to the well behaved sibling. Especially if the play date is for the well behaved child in this case. My 4 year old is being very well behaved lately and I’m having more challenges with my 2 yr old that’s why I ask. Thanks! I love all this advice so I wonder what I could do in a situation where we are home and the misbehaving starts when we have a guest here (whether it be a family member or a friend). My oldest son tries to lazily blow throw his chores, get crazy running off, and eats a lot more junk food (which she brings here) when my MIL is here. He is almost 10. I will pull him aside and talk to him privately and he will tell me he will stop, but then he goes back and continues acting that way. She will invite herself to stay the night also. I have a hard time because she doesn't agree with discipline and tells me to ignore it.

My son used to be like that when he was young about 1-3. It was very stressful. When he got older he finally understood that safety matters as I’d talk about it all the time. He’s 6 now and very safe and does not ever run off.

Having an autistic 5 year old with ADHD and is incredibly defiant is like 3 kids in 1....but it's because he feels like he really has no control that he fights for control. Its easy to forget because it looks like blatant disrespect. Its not.

Thank you for not supporting spanking! As a Christian mother, this is not a common belief that I run across.
