Especially Julien, Too Much, NDLM, WYIMR and Real Love.
I'm my opinion, a nice light pure pop album that we need nowadays. A lot of the songs are really solid, all the ones that were singles were excellent. I enjoyed it, but the middle section of the album kind of blurred together and a couple of those songs could have been cut without hindering the album. It was very minimal overall, so some tracks could have used more flavor and to differentiate them from each other production wise. It feels very colorless, like the album art. Overall, unfortunately somewhat underwhelming because of its repetition of motifs. My personal score: feeling a light 7/10

I think what's most impressive about CRJ is that she, at the age of early 30's, still sings about boys as if she were a teenager and manages to make it outrageously infectious and incredibly fun. She's my absolute favourite modern pop singer because her music is just FUN. Strong 8 on this album.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how Carly has embraced the new trend of having shorter songs, a lot of the tracks on this album were only around the 2 minute mark. I thought it was a good way for her to play around with lots of similar sound palettes while keeping each result fresh.

I disagree with your opinion on For Sure. I'm not well-versed on production stuff so I have a different perspective. For one, she released Party For One as the first single, yet she said that Julien is the heart of the album (and its first song). It shows some depth to her album, as it essentially starts as a piece for a lover but ends with the sequence of Real Love - For Sure - Party for One, making it a bittersweet reflective piece of loving herself instead. I can see For Sure not beig great as a standalone piece, but being in that sequence makes it very solid. That is my take to how she presents the idea of "Dedicated". It's sexy, full of fantasies, but also realistic and problematic. Too Much is personally my favorite embodiment of this concept. However, I am very much satisfied with the review. I honestly expected a 6. Thank you melon.

It's actually kind of funny when you see the producer/writer behind the song "Want you in my Room" is the main guy from the Bleachers, as it is very reminiscent of their music (especially the guitar chorus from "Don't Take the Money"), it's probably my favorite song of the album, as it is so unique imo.
The Sound and Automatically in Love are my favorite tracks this year. I understand Melon's point of view, but to me (and I'm very biased) this was at least an 8.

I get a lot of my musical taste from Anthony. (because at this point it's kind of under developed) And this is the first album I was listening to before he reviewed it in a long time
I think we agree on a lot here. I missed the 80s inspired beats/instrumentation from Emotion on the first listen, but on 2nd (and 3rd and 4th and 5th, etc) listen I really fell in love with it. It's funky, it's dancey, more mature, and while I think I think Emotion has higher highs, Dedicated is more consistent and as a whole I think Dedicated is actually better than Emotion. I'd give it a 9/10. I'm a little surprised you like Everything He Needs so much, as that was one of the two (along with Right Words Wrong Time) that I don't really care for.

Vector in itself is a recent album, with many influences from electronic music while still keeping a heavy tone. I believe it would be a great album for you to review.

I enjoyed this album. Loved songs like "Julien" and "Real Love"
carly rae jepsen never gets old, she had such a huge impact and a perfect definition of pop and everybody still sleeps on her
This isn’t the MBDTF redux.
I think we agree on a lot here. I missed the 80s inspired beats/instrumentation from Emotion on the first listen, but on 2nd (and 3rd and 4th and 5th, etc) listen I really fell in love with it. It's funky, it's dancey, more mature, and while I think I think Emotion has higher highs, Dedicated is more consistent and as a whole I think Dedicated is actually better than Emotion. I'd give it a 9/10. I'm a little surprised you like Everything He Needs so much, as that was one of the two (along with Right Words Wrong Time) that I don't really care for.
A few months in and this album has grown on me quite a bit - dare I say that I prefer it to Emotion at the moment.

Review a Haken album, like Vector.
They’re a really underrated modern progressive rock/metal band that takes influences from many other genres, and each album has its own feel and taste.
Vector in itself is a recent album, with many influences from electronic music while still keeping a heavy tone. I believe it would be a great album for you to review.
