It's Octavia Butler's Kindred in real life. I was unaware of the history of this place until I drove through it on my way home after leaving the Renaissance festival this past year. I googled it from my car because it had such an overpowering eerie presence. Wishing peace for all those lost souls and the survivors.

There's a book written about Crownsville. Majority if not all of the patients there helped build the entire hospital.
