Me and my boyfriend were homeless and then we got into a shelter shelter for 8 months we're both disabled and only living off of my income very hard to get a place but thank God this for the shelter we got HUD housing only 300 a month and that's only with utilities that's all we have to pay and it's the best thing that's happened to us no more living on the streets

My first question is where is the father or father's. They did not say anything about a father or even said the word father at once. If they father passed away or something they would have said it I believe but that must mean this woman is very loose. Plus, most entry-level STEM positions have minimum GPA requirements for entry-level work, at least at a major company. No sense in doing it if you can't get at least above a 3.0, which can be hard at a top school. Degrees just open the door for you to perhaps do work you want to be doing.

I had a nervous breakdown during the 2008 recession when I lost my job as a single mom facing losing my home. I qualified for the remodification because my mortgage was backed by fannie mae. It took 3 modifications, emergency unemployment for 2 years, and the county mental health center for treatment before I could get myself together. Today I still suffer from ptsd because of it. I give this mom a lot of credit for keeping the faith as mine was lost. God Bless her and her family!

True. Some people who have handouts don't appreciate it. After the pandemic this was my first time having to depend on unemployment. I've always worked. And I saw someone I knew who didn't work at all. Receive extra government help on top of the help they already got. And it made me mad Because it's like damn there's people like me who pay our taxes and bust our behind and CoVid happened and we're not getting half of what these people are receiving. When this person I knew who didn't work (no there was no reason for them not to work) and always relied on government handouts received the stimulus to hear them say oh they better give me this I need this it was like a slap in the face because they didn't need it. This made me so emotional, because people always believe that because you're working everything is okay. I am a nurse and am still behind in my rent people think nurses were being paid extra not true. Had to make my way to work every day living my son at home and getting home late at night. It is really hard out there.
Yeah, down through the years my Mom has often said " life ain't no crystal stair", strange when you think of the words, but somehow I always knew what she meant. Life's not always a bed of ease. I think the problem is the expenses. She has a lot of mouths to feed which can make things much more difficult. I am from that area and there are affordable apartments though things are much more expensive in the DMV than in other parts of the country. I’m not sure why she isn’t able to get a lower priced apartment since she has a steady job but I hope that someone is helping her to be able to find housing!

Kids were needed a long time ago to work on farms and such back in the early 1900s but there really is no reason to have more than one child per household in this era. I've worked jobs that only paid $40k a year and it was difficult to pay all my bills on such a small salary. That was with no kids. I can't imagine trying to support even one child on that salary! Children are extremely expensive and it takes a lot of money to ensure that they live a decent life and are educated well enough along with being equipped with the proper tools to ensure that they succeed in life.

Nope I work for a government agency that is in charge of issuing checks every month. It’s really hard to have to solve problems for others on a daily basis when you are facing problems on the other end. We don’t qualify for any benefits like food stamps or reduced rent or childcare. However, when the government parties can’t figure out a budget and the government shut down those same individuals that sit on the congress and senate on both sides of the isles continue to receive their biweekly six figure pay while the government employees don’t. We are grateful for our employment but it’s time the the Government start to work for WE THE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THEMSELVES

@K Maxx Even in a more competitive major, it can be hard for people to make it nowadays because more and more people are going after those fields, and employers are not as loyal anymore. Plus, most entry-level STEM positions have minimum GPA requirements for entry-level work, at least at a major company. No sense in doing it if you can't get at least above a 3.0, which can be hard at a top school. Degrees just open the door for you to perhaps do work you want to be doing.

I was alone, homeless, for three year, clean/sober, two jobs and a car.
Its horrible. Dangerous. Demeaning. Illegal.
America is doing well with top few elites only, middle class chasing bills, low income people start to give up.
Unfortunately so many people are in this position. Most of us are 2 weeks of lost income away from ending up homeless. It really doesn’t take much. Very sad
I can't help but feel as though this video was meant for me today; not just for the inspiring story of comeuppance, but also to hear the beautiful sound of that child's voice. Wow, my soul is at ease...
I had a nervous breakdown during the 2008 recession when I lost my job as a single mom facing losing my home. I qualified for the remodification because my mortgage was backed by fannie mae. It took 3 modifications, emergency unemployment for 2 years, and the county mental health center for treatment before I could get myself together. Today I still suffer from ptsd because of it. I give this mom a lot of credit for keeping the faith as mine was lost. God Bless her and her family!

When congress vetoed the rent control bill...well things started to snowball...corporate America in the government’s pocket and the sh%t hit the fan years ago. My mom was a single mom. Life could be so rough, but she always found a way to make it work. This woman has nothing but respect from me. I am glad that things worked out for her, she and her family deserve it.

Yes Lord I am a living witness Prayer in the Name of Jesus works. Single mother of 3 God kept a roof over my head, provided me with food cars. Kept my kids safe. I remember my kids would b sick I didn’t have health insurance I would lay my hands on my kids and call on the name of Jesus. God would always and still make ways out of no way for me. Lord knows I would pay my tithes and Pray and fast I Am a witness the Lord is faithful and Prayer works. I’m just an ordinary young woman but I know God Almighty got me.

True. Some people who have handouts don't appreciate it. After the pandemic this was my first time having to depend on unemployment. I've always worked. And I saw someone I knew who didn't work at all. Receive extra government help on top of the help they already got. And it made me mad Because it's like damn there's people like me who pay our taxes and bust our behind and CoVid happened and we're not getting half of what these people are receiving. You can't judge but you also can't ignore the obvious. When this person I knew who didn't work (no there was no reason for them not to work) and always relied on government handouts received the stimulus to hear them say oh they better give me this I need this it was like a slap in the face because they didn't need it. They had subsidy housing and all the government assistance so the pandemic didn't affect them at all. Meanwhile a person like me who lost a lot to have that said in front of you. This made me so emotional, because people always believe that because you're working everything is okay. I am a nurse and am still behind in my rent people think nurses were being paid extra not true. Had to make my way to work every day living my son at home and getting home late at night. It is really hard out there.

Yeah, down through the years my Mom has often said " life ain't no crystal stair", strange when you think of the words, but somehow I always knew what she meant. Life's not always a bed of ease. I think the problem is the expenses. She has a lot of mouths to feed which can make things much more difficult. I am from that area and there are affordable apartments though things are much more expensive in the DMV than in other parts of the country. I’m not sure why she isn’t able to get a lower priced apartment since she has a steady job but I hope that someone is helping her to be able to find housing!

It's mean to say, but unless the father of her children suddenly up and left/died or kicked the kids out with her, this is down to poor family planning. I'm in my 20s, broke and currently being supported by my mom but I would never consider having even one child let alone five. Not until I have a long term plan to take care of them (healthcare, shelter, food, college, etc)

Kids were needed a long time ago to work on farms and such back in the early 1900s but there really is no reason to have more than one child per household in this era. I've worked jobs that only paid $40k a year and it was difficult to pay all my bills on such a small salary. That was with no kids. I can't imagine trying to support even one child on that salary! Children are extremely expensive and it takes a lot of money to ensure that they live a decent life and are educated well enough along with being equipped with the proper tools to ensure that they succeed in life.

@@daniellekreviazuk I know some ppl who continue to have more kids bc its more money,,,vouchers,,,food stamps etc. But in the end I feel like its a vicious cycle to remain OPPRESSED AND STUCK 4 life!!

Nope I work for a government agency that is in charge of issuing checks every month. It’s really hard to have to solve problems for others on a daily basis when you are facing problems on the other end. We don’t qualify for any benefits like food stamps or reduced rent or childcare. However, when the government parties can’t figure out a budget and the government shut down those same individuals that sit on the congress and senate on both sides of the isles continue to receive their biweekly six figure pay while the government employees don’t. We are grateful for our employment but it’s time the the Government start to work for WE THE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THEMSELVES
Why? What if she gambled it away or smoked it away or gave it away. What then?
