Thanks Adrian! I watched this about 100 times when installing my own Airflow on top of Honda tall windscreen. Getting the holes right was a major headache but finally I made it successfully, thanks to your great video!
Hi Adrian, I realize this is an older video but I really like the dark tint summer screen you show in this video. It looks like it was made from a stock screen, cut down. Is that what it is? If so, how did you get it tinted. Also, how does it perform? I'm thinking it would be much quieter than the stock height screen?
Hello Adrian, great homemade windscreen. Question, how is the buffering of your homemade screen (without Airflow Unit) compared to the Honda Touring Windscreen? You said they were about the same size so I'm curious what would make yours not have a buffering problem. A bike shop told me that having a small bend or lip tilted up at the top edge of the windscreen can significantly help prevent buffering assuming the screen is tall enough. As you probably know the Honda Touring Windscreen is completely flat at the top edge. Thanks! Richard
Thanx Richard. For me, the original touring windscreen from Honda was not good at all, I had heavy buffeting indeed (I'm 190cm). My homemade-screen was a bit higher and narrower (different shape), it was actually very good for me (even without the Airflow unit). I also tried attachable spoiler on the top /so called "MRA X-Creen Touring Clamp-On Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade". Since aerodynamics are very delicate, this can help to prevent buffeting, but there is no guarantee. However it's worth a try, also this unit can be used on any other windshield, so if you buy it, the money is not wasted. I still have mine (now I have it on my Africa Twin, like many others I went from NC750 to AT:) Enjoy!
@@blabbc Thanks much for the additional detail! I'm going to take a shot at making a custom windscreen like yours. I have a few more questions when you have time.... What thickness should I get for the PC Plastic? It sounds like you no longer have the bike, however any measurements you can provide would be SUPER helpful. I'm hoping to get as close as possible to your exact size and shape. If I know the overall height and several widths that might be enough. You can send me a private message if that helps. My last question is regarding what looks like custom side wind deflectors on your NC. Did that also help reduce the wind on your lower body? Very creative!
@@Richard-dh8ny The polycarbonate was 4mm, the full hight 50cm (that's 3cm more than the OEM Honda Touringscreen). The shape is identical on the lower part and almost the same on the higher part, only slightly narrower (-2cm, so -1cm on each side). I formed the melted shield on the base of the OEM Touringscreen, but on the top I bended it slightly more.
As shown, I mounted my screen on the metallic holder from then OEM. I would not suggest to mount a high windscreen on the original holes. Regarding the side wind reflectors, it's something I kept from the madstad screen. There is no big difference, I took them off. Yes, I spent too much money in wind-trouble-shooting;) My homemade-version gave the best result (and it was fun). Just try and enjoy :-)
@@blabbc Thanks much Adrian! One more question. I shopped on Amazon and found this 4mm sheet (see link below). Probably better price elsewhere, but I'm more concerned about the protective films. I agree that they should be left on until the windscreen is done, however it appears that you used a poly-carbonate that had paper protective films. So far the options I've seen online all have plastic films. Do you think the plastic film will melt in the oven? www.amazon.com/Lexan-Sheet-Polycarbonate-4mm-157/dp/B07QNGXD81/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=4mm+polycarbonate&qid=1577815050&sr=8-1

Great tutorial! Thank you!

Hi Adrian. I see that you have side air deflectors behind the turning light. Where can I buy? do you have a link or do you remember the brand?
Beautifull. Very Good. My Honda is Nc750 X.
Very nice. Thanks.
Very clever 🧠
