  • Back with more with the Marshall Code 25 and the 2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional. So this video I'm doing more sounds using the Marshall code with a Ibanez tube screamer in front of the amp, and all of that is run directly into my behringer mixing board and then that is run direct to my camera, so what your hearing is all direct from the amp to the camera so your not hearing any speakers. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks Rich

    I'm beginning to reconsider this series. For some of us, it's the only way to affordably get a Plexi sound at a volume that's acceptable for bedroom practice.

      Finishin.My.Coffee This could definitely be your amp...and it's great for the bedroom but it's also pretty loud. 😆👍

      Have you tried out the Yamaha THR5/10 and in particular the Lead setting on it. Check out some reviews on it on the tube.

      for a few more bucks u can get the 50 that is not only good for bedroom practice, but gigable as well, mate. its an amazing time to be a guitar player on a low budget

      and for a even few more bucks you can get the 100 combo, which also has an effects loop and a speaker out option so you can use a 4x12 if required.

    I have seen alot of video of people complaining how digital amp simulator sucks and how good tube amps are. Now even marshall came out with digital amp simulation which companies like Roland and line 6 etc have done years ago. Digital simulation/recordings is the current trend and a force that we should not ignore or underestimate. This sound very nice to me. I would not be able to tell that it is not a real tube amp if you dont say.

      Jon Koh Thank you Jon I really appreciate your comment, I agree I think the Marshall Code amps are some of the best modeling amps that have come out they really sound authentic and don't have a digitized sound to them like some other ones do. 😆👍

    I don't know why I'm watching this video I've had a code 50 for about 3 months lol. But I love it it sounds great with my burstbucker pickups in my les paul and with my active emgs in my telecaster. But as some people are saying some of the presets are kind of buzzy sounding but there are plenty of great sounding presets as well.

      Austin M First, I want to thank you for watching my video I do appreciate 😆👍. Second, I do the same thing your doing I'm watching a lot of Code videos because I'm curious what people think and what kind of tones people are getting out of these amps, I agree some of the presets I'm not crazy about, but the ones I like I really like, like the Silver Jubilee or JCM 800 and it's got a ton of effects....so agree I love the amp and it's a pretty loud amp for 25 watts, the 50 must be really loud....again thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!!!😆👍

    I have the same 2012-13, Paul. I ain't gonna buy a Marshall Code Amp. I do have a 30W and 120W Tube Vypyr for Modeling. Could you offer an opinion about the Marshall DSL20HR 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head plugged into a Marshall 412 Cab?

    • @spaceace716
      @spaceace716  3 роки тому

      Hey John thanks for the question. I really want a DSL20, I think they sound awesome and plugged into a 4×12 I think it would sound really great. I don't think you can go wrong with the DSL20 into a Marshall 4×12. Again I haven't had the chance to do that but from what i've heard on some of these UA-cam videos the DSL20 sound great and by the way the Vypyr are very cool definitely better than the Marshall Code. Thanks again hope that helps!😁👍

    I recently purchased a CODE25 to use as a practice amp. It looked like something fun I could play around with.
    The first few days it was ok as I was only using some of the factory presets. Trouble started as soon as I edited one or saved an online preset. The sound dissappeared (speaker) and the display got very faint. Restarting the amp made the display ok again but still no speaker sound. I reset the presets (hold down Amp while turning it on) and that seemed to do the trick.
    But soon after the sound issue started again. I reset the amp presets, re-installed the firmware, but I only had sound for 2-3 seconds after boot, then nothing.
    I have now discovered that if I plug in a headphone (which has sound) and then unplug it, I have speaker sound again. This makes me even more confused. I haven't tested long enough to confirm that this will work over time.
    I see that there is a lot of posts regarding sound issues and requests for a long overdue firmware. But have anyone found out any new tricks to overcome the issues?
    I sent an email to Servicedesk last week but haven't recieved a response of any kind

    Like on a real JCM800, the TS improves the tightness! Very cool - I'm ordering the head soon!!

    Marshall code 25 is the worst amplifier

    • @spaceace716
      @spaceace716  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I would agree that Marshall didn't do a very good job on the Code amps, it could have been really cool but they never really got it right. It's been a few years since I've fired up that amp, it's a bummer that you're having so much trouble with it I never had any problems like that with my amp. I might have to revisit that amp again to see how it is for me today. Sounds like you really tried to make it work for you and but it's just defective. I don't know where you got it but maybe you can send it back and get something different. Thanks for your comments.

    Looking at the binding on that LP, does the thin E string catch between the fret and the nib on the binding?

    • @spaceace716
      @spaceace716  6 років тому +1

      Chris Davies I haven't had any problem with the high E string getting caught up on the nib on the binding, good question. 😆👍

    • @chrisdaviesguitar
      @chrisdaviesguitar 6 років тому

      I ask, as I've had to return two 2016 Gibson Flying V's (Pro T) due to poor quality. The first because the guitar would not keep in tune at all. Gibson Europe replaced it, but the second guitar, had this issue with the nibs and the frets, ok if you only strum the darn thing, but completely useless for a lead guitarist. Like, who own a V and doesn't play lead lol. Gibson then sent another replacement, the 2018 version, which has no neck binding, so seems a little better, but it's not the guitar I wanted.

    Compared to quite a few other "demo's" of this same code this one sounds rather good!
    On all the other ones it sounded very buzzy like a angry nest of bee's :(

      Space ace, how is the in room live tone?
      is the gain buzzy at all? I hate fuzzy tones, i am more into a old school VH type distortion where it is rounded and punchy. and no fizz.

    • @spaceace716
      @spaceace716  7 років тому +2

      I think some of the presets can be fuzzy...and I agree I hate fuzzy tone also, I prefer a rounder tone, so I go into the presets and do some tweaking so things sound better to my ear plus I use my tube scream to get the tone I like, so to answer your question, in the room the amp does sound great...with some tweaks.
