Hey everyone! I'd been dealing with some stuff so I couldn't make videos for a while. I hope everyone's been enjoying Against the Storm since it released on Steam! Please be nice for my first video back lmaoo My thoughts on the biome: So I think the revamp is gorgeous and the excavating is very cool, I'm just not sure about the balancing of it yet. The event is very costly and time consuming, but I feel like that is countered by the fact that you're only opening 1 glade and getting 3 reputation points for it. You don't have to suffer ANY negative effects. I just think it might be sitting in this weird position where in lower difficulties you don't even need to do one of these (you can easily get Reputation elsewhere), and higher difficulties you might not even be able to participate in it (because resources are limited). Anyone played this at higher prestige? Or low difficulty at lower level? Lemme know!
Yay, you're back! Your videos were my introduction to Against the Storm while I was waiting for the Steam release. I really hope you keep making them! I'm playing the game for myself now, and I'm up to 7 Prestige difficulty so far. I enjoy the Scarlet Orchard archaeology stuff in terms of flavor, but it seems to take a long time and require a lot of investment to reap the benefits. I just played a game on Prestige 6 with the Watchtower modifier and tried to explore as much as possible for dig sites, but in the end I accidentally won through trading+Guild Hall before I managed to complete my first skeleton. I was on the last step.
Tried it in presiage 20, didn't build the office but find the event accidently. After finishing the stage one I gave up, it takes a lot of resources and time, and you can't get any rewards until you finish stage 3, which I think is very difficult to achieve at higher difficulties.
I really like the direction of this game, didn't think they would sink more effort into the lore but I am pleasently surprised. Can't wait to put two spinning spiders next to eachother and imagine them having a palenthological breakdance battle.
Your videos have changed the way I've been approaching and addressing situations within the game. Really enjoyable and, for me, educational to watch! :)
Yeah something I learned from this channel is how to roll with the punches instead of just getting stressed + thinking the bad luck is going to end the game.
Just found the game a few days ago. I'm so addicted right now. I found you by accident looking for content to learn more of the game. Your voice is so chill, it's like a conversation with an old friend. Love the content! 👍
i love your videos and the conversational thinking out loud. i watch them when i don't want the stress of playing, myself, like when winding down for bed. i learn something every time. :) that must be a lot of work cutting down your video.
glad to see you are back! really enjoyed your videos! i found your channel a week before the steam release, after playing the demo i binge watched all your videos to understand the mechanics better and prepare for the release...i still fuckup a lot tho XD
Just found your channel by chance looking for some Against the storm content. I am still very much learning the ropes of the game and think it has put me on the wrong foot a couple of times. So when you said viceroy was a low difficulty whereas I have yet to successfully complete one made me feel called out lol. I subbed, looking forwards to more vids! If you are able and willing to make a video on how this game works and what makes you able to climb to higher difficulties I'd love to hear it! Like what to build, what not to do, etc. Seeing you build houses for all specific races made me realize my general approach of max pop in big shelters is not the way to go if you want to go up in difficulty level.
Hey thanks! Oh this game can be very hard to learn, don't worry! I've played over 400 hours and I'm still learning new things and making mistakes all the time. I just say Viceroy is a "lower" difficulty just because the Prestige levels go up to 20 😅
The easiest way to lower the mood of the settlers is to prohibit them from consuming advanced food and goods.I played on "prestige 1" - +3 reputation noticeably speed up the run)) I had a statue of a scorpion. The main advantage of excavations is the absence of a timer for negative consequences. Therefore, you can not rush with resources and on high difficulty it looks even better.
@@Beaviful It's just that normal people raise the mood of the people, and do not arrange tyranny, but this is not about us.😏 I thought for a long time where to apply this mechanic, until I got on a modifier that does not reduce impatience for reputation growth in a snowstorm. Here is where the application was found.
Hi! This is a new mechanic they've just introduced in Early Access, of course it will need some balancing. Besides, this is on a lower difficulty (for me, personally, as others can struggle with it) and I am a max level experienced player, I play on this difficulty so I can make sure I'm able to solely focus on the new mechanics I want to show and not have trouble playing the game.

@@SwimmingCarcass Hey, that's great! Yep I can definitely see that happening a lot, I wonder how they might tweak it 😅
