This is one of the downfalls of the Hmong tradition that needs to change. I am happy regarding the recent change for a 1 day funeral arrangement. Hopefully soon we will get to a place where the living will no longer have to suffer financially for the funeral of the dead.

All l heard was fight for money. These young people just want to rub theses old parents. Yes you had a bad life by the decisions you made, but you also had a lot of time to plan for your funeral. Save money, buy life insurance and write down your will or health care directive. Your son will be ok on his own.

Here, as long as you’re financially stable, you’re good. Make sure you’re financially stable/comfortable, and Just worry about your own wife and kids, and that’s it.
