Hi Crystal, im from a little island in the Caribbean. Im an ardent supporter of your channel. Alway look forward to your new videos. Im new to this vinyl\sublimation world, only started this year. You are so easy to follow along with all your videos. I love love the idea of you trying the parchmant paper with the DTF hack. Keep on keep on. ❤
Very fun. I never used these as a kid myself, but I did use a lot of Shrinky Dinks😋 And I remember going to the Jersey shore in the early 80's down in Wildwood, and they'd have those 'airbrush t-shirt' shops that also had a bunch of the vinyl type transfers that you could pick out and they'd press a shirt for you. I recall getting this light blue shirt that said 'Skate Rat' or something and it had this rad punk rock rat with sunglasses on a skateboard. I haven't thought about or even remembered that shirt in decades. Sigh. Such simpler times.
They truly were the best times. I miss it so much and wish my kids could have experienced that time period. Isn't it amazing to look back at how much cool t-shirt shops there was and now that DTF or sublimation is trending its been here the whole time. Love Shrinky Dinks
Really great experiment with these vintage DTF prints. Would love to see you try to make a DTF with parchment paper, wouldn’t that be a game changer?! I’m a little older than you but I still have my Mrs. Beasley doll that I received for Christmas when I was 5 years old!
Oh my goodness I love that! I looked Mrs Beasley up how precious ❤ I agree definitely would be a game changer I'm testing it this weekend fingers crossed
I am excited to see how these all turn out. My daughters grew up with all these vintage characters. Rainbow Bright, strawberry shortcake, care bears, cabbage patch kids. love them.
Technically the term DTF means "Direct to film" and is a different process than these plastisol screenprinted heat transfers. Direct to film is fairly new technology.
I don’t remember the DTF from back in the day but my grandmother sewed just about everything for me from baby doll clothes to Barbie doll clothes, diapers, even my clothes. My most fondest memory is when she got her Family Circle magazines, in the centerfold of the magazine there was a iron on transfer. She even sewed my patches onto my denim jacket and jeans. How I wish I had that jacket today. It was my favorite thing to wear to school.
Love this so much thank you for sharing ❤️ looking back at all the things we wish we had it’s so funny how different you look at all those things when your older. My grandma also sewed and crocheted stuff for us as well I too wish I had those things. That’s so awesome there was transfers in magazines as well ❤️❤️❤️
I remember doing E.T (which he’s my favorite), Rainbow brite, Ninja turtles, cabbage patch 😂 in school. Take me back to the good ole days 😊 As soon as you said parchment paper, “I said hold up Crystal, we gotta try this” 🤣 and then you said it. We’re thinking a like here 😆 and omw the tape hack…. Awesome 👏🏽 Such a fun and great video 😊LOVE all of the things. They came out great ❤thanks so much love ❤️ stay blessed bestie 🥰
You did another great project! This was a fun blast from the past! I don't remember doing these per say but I remembered doing something like these in art class. We had to draw our own so I drew Scooby Doo for myself and a Snoopy for my classmate. The teacher brought them home and ironed them for us. It was super fun and i remember wearing my tee shirt with pride😊. I wish I still had it.
That's awesome thank you so much for sharing. Teachers are truly Rock stars ⭐️ Teachers that do stuff like this to make a memory to last a life time makes my heart so happy 😀
It's hard to believe that those even still exist! I'm really glad that Rainbow Brite worked out for you! I remember iron on transfers that were on paper like that. I think it must have been the late 70's, though. Some worked really well and some didn't.
Would love a trip to the '80s with old designs...my daughter is now 48 & she grew up with these characters! If it were only possible to find designs that could represents the 50's & 60's & 70's 🎉🎉🎉 Doing a collage t-shirt for our 9 yr old (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sweetheart) great-granddaughter would be super cool 😎 🎉❤🤗
@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat I spent time looking on este but not ebay. I'll look there next🧐. 🔮 Crystal Ann, you're one of my 3 favorite "cricut" crafters!
Not sure it was my first craft but when I was little my parents would get me a Christmas ornament set each year. One year I was sewing felt, another I was painting wood or little ceramic ornaments. We had quite the tree!!
wash test was perfect no issues!
Thank you for letting us know! That's always the first question I think of after a video!
Thank you so much. I know I love yours the way they turn out!

Oh no I did not have a cabbage patch growing up, but my daughter did. And my mom made one. She was obsessed with cabbage, patch, and rainbow Brite.

I feel like the distress marks were on purpose to give it the "vintage" look.
