Would a fresh water otter that never really lived in the river be able to tell where the fish came from? How would he know? Also, there are other channels with otters and they feed them sashimi and other types of prepped salt water fish. I think people are over analysing what's going on. Bingo has been nervous, or "put off" over almost every new experience they have shared with us. It could just simply be that he's young and new things take awhile for him to grasp. In the wild their mother's have to basically drowned them in order for them to enjoy water. If an otter has to be taught to enjoy water it's probably safe to assume that they don't pop out knowing the difference between fresh and salt water fish.
Ohh... do they like it? My ferret for some reason didn't like real meat, only kibble. I offered him a piece of tuna, and he got a disgusted look on his face, backed away, and started rubbing his nose in the carpet to get out the smell. 😂

You should buy a lot of real live goldfish or small koi and put them in the big blue tub. He will eat the fish if he can swim and catch them. He just hates the mackerel prepared for humans. You can also feed them (cheap) raw beef, here in England we have otters in the zoo and they are fed raw cubes of beef. They need animal protein.
Not to point out the obvious, but how do you know that's what he hates? There are plenty of videos showing otters eating fish prepared that way and loving it. I'm assuming it's like him and water all over again. He's young, stubborn, and not sure about it. I always think it's kinda funny when I read comments stating flat out that they know without a doubt what's going threw Bingo's mind.
