SOLI DEO GLORIA!
Would you guys ever rock a guitar like this?
Enjoy the demo!
I think it looks really good, its so unique that i'd definately rock one
Hi Darrell. Have you got my reply about the future guitar give away for overseas? This is the best guitar ever. Great job man! Anyone can buy that........but me a few years time.
Yes
Just looking at it and hearing it I'd say hell yeah. I love this guitar even though I'm a strat guy generally.
Without a doubt
This guitar embodies so many different aspects of so many different great guitars. A true all in one sort of deal!
D'angelico has always imo been killing it in appearance the quality has seemed good from what I can tell too.
Does anyone know what video is this form 0:15 I’m trying to find it, I just enjoy Darrell being goofy that’s all 😳
I’ve got a 335 style Dangelico In black. It competes with my fender American pro 2 as my favorite guitar! The quality is definitely on par with fender and Gibson. I plans to get another dangelico soon.
Yeah she's a beauty
What I love about it is how it isn't copying any other guitar out there, but it's also not your typical shredding guitar that you often see from companies who make their own guitar designs. And with all of this, it doesn't look ugly either! What they did is make something unique that almost looks like something Fender would make but better, and that's how you know it's good. And on top of it being gorgeous, it sounds phenomenal
Exactly!
I also want alternative designs for non-shredding non-humbucker pickup guitars..
Most companies just copy existing designs under the name of "vintage" or "traditional"
I have a brighton and its looks fool you. Its shred capacity is through the roof thanks to the 14" radius and that heel joint giving you all access. They make killer instruments.
It does remind me a bit of a rickenbacker, but far from a copy
@@leinadatidumarp look into reverend guitars
Fender sixty six
Really cool! What I love about about D'Angelico is how unique some of their designs are, and not just clone copies of other guitar brands.
Let's be honest. They have one pretty geniune guitar design, and the others are semi/hollow body guitars that clone popular models such as gibson es 175/339.
That doesn't mean they sound bad tho, I'd totally rock one.
@@lowkeyd34d63 I dunno man they have a lot of unique guitars outside of those hollowbodys. Edit: looks like they have discontinued a lot of body styles.
@@lowkeyd34d63 Oh for sure!
@@danielbuhr4260 I think that the ludlow is one of their more unique designs.
The headstocks on the D'Angelico are simply a work of art 😍
I totally agree .
@@stephenhensley5631 not entirely sure how they would stand up to being dropped but hey, beauty has a price 🤷🏻♂️
I actually hate them. 🤷🏻♂️
I didn’t like them much at first, but they’re growing on me.
I do like their headstock, but not on this new offset body design. Doesn't fit in my opinion.
I love these unique looking guitars, such a nice change of pace over the tired single cut and les paul shapes
I love your channel so much for showcasing all the unusual stuff!
Now that I’ve actually watched the video. That thing is a music monster.
One of the brands that shines among Instagram players, besides Ibanez talman guitars ofc.
Really getting some Boston vibes from the Bridge pickup with that Marshall. It’s got this very Tom Schultz-sounding midrange peak in it.
Beautiful guitar! I’m really learning how to do sponsored videos the right way by watching these. Thanks for setting a high bar! 🤓🤘🏻🎸
You are really doing interesting, fun content after all this time, great job big D!
I remember wandering into their former location in Red Bank, NJ some years back. It was a colorful experience. The "caretaker" of the shop didn't so much try to sell my cousin and I a guitar. More of a history lesson where D'Angelico guitars were art pieces over musical instruments. I believe they had a few old school D'Angelico guitars behind glass, but the rest of their stock was all the modern import fare. They were absolutely well crafted import guitars. That store has long since disappeared, but I'm glad to see the brand is experiencing a resurgence through more creative takes on vintage looks.
My local music store had one of these, and I was gutted when I walked in one day to find it had been sold. It was a joy to play.
@Jackie Apreil My store had it for about $2400 AUD. Aus exchange rate plus import taxes and GST means we pay a little more for gear over here.
@@drewg.4487 Not bad for a really high-end boutique guitar. As soon as I noticed the multi-ply binding on the neck I realized we were looking at something special.
@Jackie Apreil here in the USA they seem to have them listed at around $1400.00
The more I look at it the more I like it.
Sounds good, don't care much for the looks though, like the color though, it would probably have to grow on me😁
I do think it's good.
I have recently been trying to re-stock my collection of tones. One of my wish list items was "something with mini-humbuckers". My very first electric was a 1966 Epiphone Wilshire with minis, and I just loved it. Well, I was in Guitar Center, and they had a few of the new 2022 model of the D'Angelico Premier Bedford SH. Made in Indonesia (I see that one was made in Korea), the mini has a different cover, slightly Rickenbacker or Gretsch-like. It also has a tremolo system. A super-versatile guitar with super-simple controls and great sounds. I absolutely love it. The quality of parts and workmanship is very good, neck is wonderful. Mine is Fiesta Red, and her name is Angie. I'm very happy to have her in my tone arsenal. There's songs in there!
I think that neck joint is superb and the finish on the back of the neck is probably my ideal.
Tank you , you are the only person I’ve seen giving Bedford some love. .
Thanks for the review Darrell, I ordered it, should be here next week in surf green, very excited. Greetings from Bavaria Michael
Cool guitar! Great tones!
This guitar and that marshall scream together mate, definitely some magic
I didn't expect those kinds of overdriven tones from it, delightfully surprised!
Great sounding pickups! 🎸
Whew! What's not to like about this instrument? It looks and sounds fantastic, and I'll take your word, Darrell, that it feels good too!
Damn, that mini HB sounds defined without some of the usual humbucker woofiness. Guitar looks absolutely fantastic! Gotta check one of these out.
OMG... I was getting those 80's vibes from that delicious crunch at the beginning.
That mini HB!?
Stays crunchy even in milk!
D'Angelico makes cool and funky guitars.
Nice...Real nice.
Just bought one of these cant wait to play it
I fell in love with that guitar the minute I saw it !! Beautiful shape & color.! The f-hole is really cool. !
Really lovely sounds !
My kind of guitar.
I bought a D'Angelico Bob Weir signature guitar based on Darrell's review. It's an amazing guitar and I love it. Now I'm tempted again. This guitar looks and sounds amazing.
That bridge through the Marshall sounds FANTASTIC!!
Super Boston-like tones are dig it too
I have one in Matte Charcoal as a limited run. Its freakin incredible.
WOW THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD!
Wow that is one awesome guitar, all things coming together perfectly! All chromed Mini and SCs with no pole pieces nice design choice. Does have Matte Walnut (and with Trem) for those who want wood grain. Marshall amp sounds great too!
That is a sexy looking and sounding guitar! The pick guard shape is beautiful. As always your video production is superb Darrell. Cheers!!
ALWAYS GREAT VIDS....Thanks again.
Darrell, I just discovered that you are aligning yourself with one J.S. Bach!
SUBSCRIBED‼️
This guitar is absolutely beautiful, possible one of the best guitars I've ever seen!
Darryl you can make a cricket bat strung with fencing wire sing! But I must say, what a fantastic instrument! Thanks again for you tireless work for us.
Just picked up the less expensive Premier version of this in Oxblood finish. I'm quite happy.
That first clean part after the crunch was really cool.
Yes it was😉
That's like the perfect placement of pickup selector for me. Won't get in the way when strumming hard but still easy to access using edge of the palm.
Cool axe, great review! Thanks
Wow! You’ve sold me on this one for sure!
I see a love Child between two lovely families. The lipstick pu''s from my all time fave - the Telecaster. With the Les Paul'ish mini humbucker it has a touch og a classic yet futuristic Gibson/early Epiphone. Incredible look with the bit of assymetric body - a touch from an early Quest (Matsumoko) Well, I'm so overwhelmed, that I just can't find the words.....I'm from Denmark (66 y.o.), and Darrell......I think you just presented me for my last guitar. Great review
That thing looks stunning and totally different. Fabulous tones and appears to be built very well. Can't go wrong with a guitar that the F hole looks like it's smiling 🙂 God bless and rock on 😎👍🎸
Wow... I LOVE it.... looks gorgeous and sounds fantastic
Black and gold is sharp. Beautiful guitar. Thanks for the review!
At 1st glance .. I'd buy this !
Pretty solid , and a looker, too ;)
Above par video & presentation, as usual, Darrell.
Thank you for this.
PS: now I'm gonna find out for how much it sells.
Thank you for sharing! Nice work on audio, video and content. one day I would like to hear clean sound without reverb, delay and comp. Etc...
thats one of the best sounding guitars I've heard wow
Can’t decide between desert gold or ox blood red on this guitar. Both are quite beautiful.
Sounds great!!👍👍👍👍👍
These are a well thought out design. Love the pickups he's showing here . Very versatile and affordable price. I can see adding this to my arsenal.
That neck pickup sounds exactly like my tele (also SD pup equipped). Aaaand i love that sound.
Overall great pickups combo. Less straty maybe, but cool
I love the descriptions used to describe tones: Creamy? Bright Sizzle?
That guitar rocks harder than it has any right to... Sounds great through the Marshall. I like the quirky look, too.... and 14" radius in that style of guitar? Unusual. I'd gig with it, for sure.
That... actually sounds pretty awesome!
Love the sound. That heel joint is spectacular! The I hate almost every other part of the aesthetics! The huge F hole looks phallic, the rest looks like fender, Danelectro, and music man all had a say in body shape.
What's not to like? Thanks for the great review Darrell
Lovely guitar! Great soft video to watch while eating a breakfast
Really super juicy tones, very nice, I wouldn't say no to one.
I had a feeling you would do a review on this model..... Thanks!
I agree - really cool design. Heel joint, f-hole, pick guard all look great, and the sound from those Duncans is killer. That said, I'm not a fan of gold on guitars, either in hardware or paint jobs. I can't afford it anyway, but if I could, I might go with the matte-finish walnut version. I'd rather have black, but it comes with gold hardware, a deal-breaker for me.
Beautiful guitar!
I have a Michael Kelly 1955 custom collection that has a rear humbucker and a neck mini-bucker with both splittable and a 3-way switch.
I often get lost playing with all the controls instead of practicing with it.
Bridge reminds me of a Gibson Firebird, & then you also get the “Stratty” tones. Very versatile.
Looks practical, stylish and different. Unusual to have metal covered Strat pickups.
Actually, it looks like tipical tele neck pickups.
@@JaOzrenRadovanovic yes
Having held one of these I’m pretty sure they are tele sized.
Having both this guitar and Strats, these are definitely different. They're thinner.
Awesome 😎 love it!!!!
That is my style all the way, I'm very interested, I love min hums and single coil in the neck. Great combo.
Beautiful Guitar
Beautiful Dan gelico.
Nice..I have a TD .Love it...
I have a DeAngelico Acoustic “Tammany” and that guitar is amazing. The way DeAngelico finish their satin necks is phenomenal. Definitely getting this guitar, one more for the stable.
Beautiful guitar
my Gretsch is a semi hollow with a p50 at the neck and a humbucker at the bridge.....Bigsby at the end. The feedback makes some sick sounds.
....I know, not the same setup but it has similarities and I love it. 👍
That guitar has the best tones that I've heard in a long time. And the body is a breath of fresh air as it does not copy the same old strat, tele, and Les Paul bodystyles that every guitar company produces. However, like all 3 + 3 tuning gear headstocks,....you can clearly hear it go out of tune just like a Gibson SG. For a Korean-made instrument, I was very impressed with the quality control for this guitar.
I'm tempted!
Very cool guitar. I like the combination of pickups. The neck fit and finish looked amazing! What radius is it (neck)? Compound? Sound is exquisite.
Reminds me of the old Charvel / Jackson Surfcasters. Great guitars.
Deee Beeeee Wuts good my friend!! Cheers from beautiful MT
YES!! WOW, great tones. Love the mini...but the neck ..but I'm a ' bucker guy ...but the neck.....
This guitar sounded great so I went to D'Angelico to see the other colours of the guitar and it wasn't bloody listed, they only had the Premier version - had to use your Sweetwater link to see the proper version!!! Anyway found a price in Australian dollars eventually and it's a bit out of my price range - damn.
Sorry, had to pause the video; I needed to buy one
I'm back now
Great sounding guitar. Looks vintage
If I didn't know better, I'd swear this guitar was the vintage inspiration for the PRS Vela (or Mira, I don't remember which has the more pronounced offset). D'angelico is really doing some cool stuff!
It looks like the PRS Vela. But the Vela doesn't have single coils and only has neck and bridge pickups. The other difference is the PRS is a solid body while this is a semi hollow.
@@dsmiley1971 that's right... I was looking mostly at overall body shape
@@dsmiley1971 Bela does come semi-hollow actually, don’t honk there are 3 pickup options
What an awesome looking guitar.
I just cant get away from the fact that it looks absolutely stunning
That is a super cool guitar! I want one.
Real pretty and great sound. The playing is pretty damned good too😉. 🇨🇦🎸👍
My wife wants one of these, perfect timing for a demo/review.
nice review
Bob Weir of the Dead has been using a custom version of their guitars for a few years now. Seems like everyone who tries one likes them. I still have yet to try one, interested.
I love D'angelico guitars.
BTW, are those single could noiseless?
That is awesome.
Looks a bit like the Italia guitars. Sounds good!😎👍✨
As soon as I seen this guitar I wanted it! Before even hearing it. The pickup combination is something I had been thinking about (not my preference) yet would love to have. Yet after hearing and seeing price lil over grand not so impressed. Been wanting a DeAngelico just havent found one at price point I like
That heel joint wins it for me! Makes it sound so resonant....and would feel infinitely better than a steel square (I'm looking at you Fender!)
What’s a heel joint?
Grat looking guitar.
Sounds pretty good too with thos Seymour Duncans.
But you haven’t shown the wiring or the pots & condensators. Are they any good?
Damn you Darrel! 😡 Took me just a couple of hours after watching this video and some of your previous D'Angelico reviews for me to end up with ordering a D'Angelico myself! 💸
Just kidding! Much love for all of your hard work, wonderful guitar playing and well produced reviews! 🧡 Been having my eyes on Schecter after all your praising but not finding one that I clicked with. Will be interesting to see how this goes and if it solves my love-hate relationship with my Les Paul. 😊
