Imagine what you were doing when you were 18 . This kid had already written 28 symphonies before this one . He was 18 when he wrote this …let that sink in 🤯
_"Astounding! It was actually, it was beyond belief. These were first and only drafts of music, but they showed no corrections of any kind. Not one. He had simply written down music already finished in his head! Page after page of it as if he were just taking dictation. And music, finished as no music is ever finished. Displace one note and there would be diminishment. Displace one phrase and the structure would fall. It was clear to me that sound I had heard in the Archbishop's palace had been no accident. Here again was the very Voice of God! I was staring through the cage of those meticulous ink-strokes at an absolute beauty."_
I love chamber orchestras. The strings, in particular, sound very different than in a full orchestra. You can now hear the individual instruments rather than a wall of sound. Beautiful.
UPDATE: I just realized that - I listened to this entire concert and there were NO ADS interrupting. I'm not a paid UA-camr, so does this mean that someone has actually listened to complaints about that practice? Seems almost too good to be true, but for the record - thank you. Like listening with new ears! I especially liked the lively tempo of the final movement. This piece is perhaps Mozart's first masterpiece of a symphony and it is so filled with clever surprises, like the abrupt ending of the minuet. There is a little touch of Haydnesque humor in all of this. Ik geniet van al je optredens! Wat een schat!
A superb illustration of what a chamber orchestra can do..the players are listening to each other (there is no conductor). That is how they build this harmonious miracle.
The genius of classical music lies in its ability to evoke profound emotions without uttering a single word. From the soaring heights of joy in Vivaldi's 'Spring' to the melancholic depths of Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata,' every piece tells a story that resonates across generations, making classical music a timeless and universal language.
Oh, this is the most incredible beauty I've ever heard in my life. This is music to enter paradise with, playing in the background. Flawlessly performed, pure magnificence. I'm glad I got this experience before I die. Amazing joy. Incredible.
Listening to this beautiful performance during my country's lockdown. No halls open, no concerts anywhere so thank God for You Tube in raising my spirits during this dreadful time and let us hope for a time when we can attend events like this in person again.
That's simply got to be the most impressive delivery of Mozart 29 that I have heard. Wow. That middle expressive movement ohh just delightful si tente. Thanks so much. Grateful
This masterpiece is timeless as the genuine format for compassion placed within the notes of symphony produce such vivid and vibrant transitions of tones
I agree hundred percent with you - Steve Wallschlaeger - never heard a better version of this beautiful symphony. Congratulations Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra. You are amazing! I love you!
I heard this wonderful symphony today by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and I just had to listen to again. Thank you for posting and of course thanks to that most wondrous composer, Mozart
Just a stunning performance. The subtle intricacies, and to do this with this small of a group and the depth and richness of the sound... incredible. Also, the way the lead violinist kept staring some of the others down... what a girl boss! Love it!
This is just superb! What a fabulous group of musicians! I remember just where we sat there in 2000, I think it was. But this recording is so good it's almost like being there! Many thanks! Bravissimi a tutti.
It simply does not get any better. Danke je, Concertgebouw Chambre Orchestre, tu es virtuosi. A majeur de sons perfectamente! Je t'aime Mozart ! Tres bien.
FANTASTIC reading of Mozart and an exceptional presentation of my favorite symphony. It's as if Sir Neville Marriner was conducting, but this orchestra is showing they understand and can VERY WELL perform WA Mozart in, I believe, the way his music was intended: lively, bright, crisp, energizing, magical and fun! Standing ovation presentation! My air baton thanks you for sharing!!
Back in the early Salzburg days of Mozart’s career, he would compose these small-scale symphonies for the small Archbishopric orchestra. Amazing to know that Mozart produced this fine work with such a teensy orchestra!
The harmony of such a well known creation of rhythm infused and influenced by tradition is great to enjoy as the days of the hours within seasons of transformation continue flawlessly without abatement
Condivido.
@@richardduffy7926 Mozart is not only beautiful melodies with simple accompaniment. He was a great master of counterpoint and orchestration. Moreover, Mozart had a refined sense of musical form. In this symphony we can find all these qualities.
I heard a little bit of the baby's voice around 5:30, but I enjoyed the performance because it was wonderful and the recording was good. This violin unison is ideal and I always use it to check the sound quality.
In the NKO {Nederlands Kamer Orkest} we sat with the Horns and Oboes reversed.... but that was 40 years ago ! Therefore I sat next to Hans Meyer...Much nicer. This group sounds excellent.
This performance is so great! Everything is perfect except I only wish the grace notes were played more like Mozart, just as normal 16ths... But otherwise it's simply flawless!
Saludos

Exactly what I think. Thank you that I'm not alone in the world with this opinion.
Fills me with tears at the intense beauty of this music's genius.
I understand perfectly, from 06:51 to 07:18; for me are the most extraordinary seconds of ALL of music!!!

Not only the performance is amazing and perfect, the recording is also crystal clear! This has to be one of the best Mozart No 29!
Really?
Three cheers for the people of Amsterdam. They will fill a concert hall on a Sunday morning to hear the music of Mozart.

Listen to Meinz Chamber Orchestra's version (with Gunter Kerr as conductor).
My favorite Mozart piece.
ok
This composer is quite good He must be very famous.
Lol
Yes, he is hot these days. . .
One hit wonder.
Is he on Snapchat?
I hear he’s quite young too.
Noticed how many Dutch orchestra’s performances of great works from composers like Mozart, Bach or Beethoven tend to be of high quality?
Damn, so well done. Pure Mozart.

The genius of Mozart - beautiful melodies with simple accompaniments. Performed so beautifully and delicately by this group.
