Welcome to real winter! And spikes, how interesting. Not allowed over here, not even for cars. Heated visor, never tried that. Looks good. The engine sound could be more prominent, but we understand you well. Liked the OA4 (!) Looking forward to the Enduro track with the reset Rally Raid suspension. All the best, Günter/Nürnberg
I have always thought about doing a more in depth motovlog setup video but my setup keeps changing constantly so the video is just always being pushed 😅 I will think about doing one at some point.
@@PatchedBandit I put my DJI MIC 2 inside my Shoei modular helmet and connected via BT to my Ace Pro. The audio is terrible. I am going to try a lavalier mic plugged into the Mic 2 and positioned farther away from my mouth. That's why I wanted to see where you placed your lav. I just returned from Prudhoe Bay and my videos could sure have used some commentary😁
I recently returned my Mic for a Mic 2 and when I plug it into my PC, it takes a long time to respond. We're talking about 20-30 seconds after clicking on the drive until it opens and then I get transfer speeds of about 700k per second. It took one minute to transfer a 5MB file to an SSD via USB-C so something is wrong. I've formatted both of my Mic 2s and it's still the same. My PC works fine with any other device/drive. I never had this sound crackling issue though, maybe because I updated the firmware. The mic never flashed to confirm the firmware update like it says it will on DJI's site but I can tell from the Action 4 menu that it upgraded.
I think it sounds good but would be better with a 2nd mic. :) I'll be running a pair of Action 4's and mic 2's tomorrow and I'm hoping to get good bikes and vocal sounds with that configuration.
Hi, I would like to use the DJI Mic 2 for motovlogging, but I have a question. Do I just pair the transmitter (mic) with my Insta360 X4, and that's it, or do I also need to connect the DJI receiver to the X4? I read that you get worse audio quality without the receiver. Also, with the transmitter inside the helmet, would it be better to connect a lavalier mic to it? Thanks
Apparently you get better audio quality connecting to DJI devices and you get the float 32 bit as a backup. I don't know if it's worth buying these for other devices like Insta.
I think the inhouse audio from the OA4 is good! You get more of the motorcycle sound in that recording. I will still buy the two when the mic 2 is released.
Fair enough! The internal audio level is a bit higher from the box so that is causing the 'engine sounds' to be a bit more noticeable. I could have adjusted this in the edit though so it's not really a benefit of the internal OA4 recording. The cracking is something I don't want in my audio so I will be using the mic's internal file with the 32bit floating point as it is much cleaner.
Maybe you could help me out: If I fix my Osmo Action 3 somewhere on the bike - what is need to speak wirelessly while filming? Microphone, transmitter, ...? Thanks, Günter/Nürnberg PS: When I chin-mount the DJI Action 3 on my fullface helmets I use a Samsung headset with cut-off earplugs, cheap and has worked brilliantly all year long. But it has cables.
I have used the DJI wireless mic 1 a lot with the osmo action 3. Problem with this setup is that the receiver needs to be plugged on the camera when recording and it is a bit tricky to get it to stay. I used to use tape to keep it in place.
I use Telwin powee bank / starters 12V DC under my jacket for my heated visor so I don't have to plug myself to the bike. I have also the blug from the motorcycle but I prefer the Telwin power bank. I like to ride on snowy roads with crf300 rally. Sad but true - winter rally season is soon over. Back to summer tyres. Kuopio / Finland
I am gonna subscribe you right away and will watch the full video without skip. This is the least i can do. Keep making content. I would love to see you grow on UA-cam ✌️
IF the mic is connected only 1 channel is recorded in the video. From the mic itself you can download a 32 BIT float file from the same audio but with the 32 bit floating point. For example if your in video audio is peaking you might be able to save the audio from the internal recording (mic).
@@PatchedBandit Thanks, I don't want to go to that much trouble, I just want to connect the mic and record the mic audio on the video. I don't have to connect the audio truck to the video separately. Is it possible?
@@syrasel Audi will be attached to the video directly if the mic is connected. No need to adjust any sync etc. Just remember to set your levels in the camera settings for the mic so you don't get peaking. Normal speaking/vlogging is good at -0db but If you do motovlogging put it all the way down to -12 if your mic is close to your mouth.
Riding with your speed in snow looks scary to me 😮 But Finland is the country where Rally legends were born so I know why. The amount of snow that remains on your roads is being replaced by salt in my country and spike tires are not allowed at all. But we have a few Rally legends, too. The balance between engine noise and your voice sounds OK for me but a smartphone is not a device to judge quality. The engine noise is hearable in the background but it never gets too loud. If you can recommend some excellent winter gloves I would appreciate a review. My Husqvarna Hippos don't fit on my T7 so I still need to rely on some real winter gloves. Enjoy the winter scenery and hopefully it'll not last too long for all the Finish bikers out there, Bernd 💙💛🏁🤛🏼
The crackling is disapointing. I'm planing a travel to Ushuaia and wanted to usa a similar audio setup. Guess I will have to be creative and embrace the cable mess.
I’ve been having problems with my DJI mic 2 connected to the Osmo action 4. With 32 bit float and low cut on. Cam at +5 db. Mics at +2 and +6 respectively. There are “zaps” when we talk too loud or shout, happens to me more as I have a strong abrasive voice. Using Usb-c to usb-c cable directly from RX to cam. Anyone else have this problem? Fix?
Why would you use a cable connection? It's a wireless mic. And if you are peaking lower the DB. I always ran my wireless mic at -12 DB with my lav mic and have gotten clean audio. You just need to boost it or use compressors in post production. Straight without editing the levels are going to be too low if you want clean audio. Also if you are motovlogging using a lav mic attached to the transmitter there are major differences between lav mics. I use Movo ACM400 to get nice and clean audio.
Joo vähän on pettymys.
