Pretty good acting
Awww this was my request I’m so damn happy!! It’s so fun hearing Myrtle high pitched eardrum-breaking and sound barrier-shattering screams in different languages! Now I’m deaf lmao jk keep up the good work 💖
Some languages kept the name as close to the original and just added a classifier meaning "moaning" or "crying."
Some used a name similar to Myrtle that would be easier to pronounce, and more common in their language, like Martha or Mimi, and also added the classifier.
A few went the extra mile and changed the name completely to keep the alliteration in *M*oaning *M*yrtle, such as Dutch and Czech.
The Hungarian version named her Hisztis Myrtle, "hisztis" is an adjective used to describe little kids who have a lot of temper tantrums
That's because the literal translation of her nickname in spanish would be "Myrtle, la gimiente" and that would be weird and sexual meaning to the spanish speakers 😂 that's the reason of what she is called "Myrtle, la llorona" (Crying Myrtle)
In czech her name Is Uršula. I dont really know what our equivalent of Myrtle would be, but we kept alliterstion by *U*fňukaná *U*šrula like that. It rolls off your tongue easily (or me as czech person), and "ufňukaná" means pretty much whiny, used when someone Is a crybaby, which i think Still keeps same meaning. Also i have noticed that very often our translation tried to keep the alliterations. Not with house names, as they Went pretty much literal with those in a good way, but examples are Wailing Widow (cz: Vzlykající Vdova), Shrieking Shack (cz: Chroptící chýše) or Moaning Myrtle herself
In Russian it's so real😳
They did a lipsink

THIS IS THE FLAG OF LATIN SPANISH DUB 👉🏻 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Moaning myrtle looks just like Harry but in girl version.
In Dutch:
Hermione:
Jammerende Jenny (Moaning Myrtle... Literally her Dutch name means "whining Jenny").
Ron:
Wie is Jammerende Jenny (Who is Moaning Myrtle)
Myrtle:
IIIIK BEN JAMMERENDE JENNY (IIIII AM MOANING MYRTLE)
Maar hoe zou je me ook moeten kennen? (But how would you have to know me?)
Wie heeft het ooit over die lelijke dikke jankende Jammerende Jenny? (Whoever talks about that ugly fat crying Moaning Myrtle)?
Now "janken" does mean "cry" in Dutch, but the word is quite often used to speak in an insulting manner about the one who cries, which is of course, very fitting in the context of Moaning Myrtle.
It's a pity Hermione's "She's a little sensitive" was left out. 🤣🤣

@@emilypegoraro9074 O nome dela eh Myrtle Elizabeth Warren. Nao faz sentido traduzir como a murta que geme, porque Myrtle eh nome proprio, embora myrtle tb eh uma especie de planta, chamada murta em PT, entao isso melhora um pouco. Eh como se uma pessoa chamasse Margarida (Daisy, Moaning Daisy) e a traducao virasse a margarida que geme. Sei la, meio estranho.

In Czech its for keeping word play Ufňukaná Uršula
It seems the same in the other languages as well. Some of Harry Potter's name have meanings related to the characters' personalities or roles in the plot, so changing names aren't as bad as one can think here. For example, Tom Marvolo Riddle is named in Spanish as Tom Sorvolo Ryddle in order to make sense with the anagram "Soy Lord Voldemort" ("I am Lord Voldemort").
