Yhea wtf
« Baguette » in French, is the type of bread but also the wand, to me it seemed pretty normal as I’m a native but this comment made me laugh xD
same
"Baguette" literally means stick or wand in French. Normally a magic wand is called "une baguette magique" nowadays, but given the pacing of the line they just used "vos baguettes". It has had this meaning for literally about 2,000 years before the bread existed. "Baguette", the bread loaf, was named so because of it's long, rod/stick/wand-like shape.
@@IDontWantThisStupidHandle "baguette magique" et non "baguette de magie" 😅👍
italian draco: 10 year old girl
ukrainian draco: 36 year old man
At the time when the film were released, the official Ukrainian dubbing for cinema wasn't a thing, a few years after Ukrainian TV-channels sis their own voice-overs (it' was usually voiced by one-three persons over the original audio-track. And later some channels or Ukrainian streaming services made their own dub. As you can think, Draco there doesn't sound like a man. (^~^;)ゞ
@Natural_Mindset Sorry, but this is wrong. He literally said "you wish". "Pomriy" goes from "mrii" ("wishes"). Yes, it sounds similar to "pomri" ("die"), but these are different words.
Хаахахаха@Natural_Mindset
Flavio Aquilone (the Italian dubber) changed voice a lot throughout the movies, but he's amazing at dubbing villains. You should hear how he dubbed Light Yagami's laugh in Death Note. It's extraordinary

As a German speaking person I found Danish rather entertaining xD because the languages are kinda similar in some points, it was easy to understand, languages like Danish or Dutch and sometimes also Swedish just sound kinda "funny and cute" to German-speakers xD because they're using words that would resemble belittlements of German words as their actual words xD
'Stäbele parat!'
'Ero Bange, Potter?'
'Du Dräumer!' Just sounds super adorable xD (last one comes actually from 'träumen' which means to dream, I just spelled it with a d because it sounds way softer than in German)

I'm from Ukraine. I will explain: for a long time we watched films from Russians in Russian. When the first wave of the war began (8 years ago), we began to translate films into Ukrainian. unfortunately it was very few dubbing actors. Bruh, always Czech. We just want to be original, lol😆😂
It conveys more or less the same meaning and it fits better the lips movement than any direct translation from English and honesly i cant even think of any such translation thatd fit the situation and made sense in Czech. Jedine asi "to by sis přál".
Dubbing quite often can't slavishly follow the original due both language and cultural differences and timing and facial expressions. Unlike the titles and names of books and movies where Czech translators and publishers for whatever reason really do try being original at all costs.
