He is being trained for Protection/ IPO/ Shutzhund. The teasing is to teach the dog when and how to be aggressive and attack, IF the need ever arises. The dog is VERY well trained. This is what Dobermans were bred for, and they love it, as well as being your family dog and best friend.

Beautiful Doberman he is. American Dobermans are being bred for more of an overall "companion" temperament - less drive to attack - and they make excellent family dogs. European Dobermans are still bred for their protection capabilities. I have noticed that the Red Dobies seem to run a bit larger in most cases and have more protective instincts even in America. These dogs are very smart and train up well. The biggest thing is that the owner has to be smarter than their dog!

depends on if you want a show dog, regular house hold pet, ears cropped, and tail docked. I recomend getting a ACK registered doberman

The European line is larger than the American lines, due to Americans breeding a more "Labrador" like Doberman. European line takes to protection training a little more naturally than their American counterparts. However, both can do it, and are great dogs!

    ohhh Cmoooonnn...
    In the cold misty morning
    gleaming rays awake the dawn
Here I stand - a stranger in this land
    does your conscience betray you?
    falling from grace -
feel the sun on my face
    does desire still hold true?
    Mystified by her beauty -
does the hunter pity his prey?
    Under starless skies all
Love must die and fade away
Take my hand - divine or damned
Make a stand, seize the day
Yours or mine, damned of divine
Draw the line, come what may...

They you don't need a Doberman. They need to be around the family and are more or less an inside dog.

In Canada they typically run $2500 for a pure/registered Euro King line. I got lucky with mine, at $1300 he's a bargain.

I have a DobermannXLabrador, Although the Dobermann part is much more dominant in his appearance. I'd say having a cross is good -means they are less likely to have genetic problems like their pure breed counterparts- . The European Dobermann idea breeds a slower dog. My DobermannX is as fast as a greyhound and definitely is intelligent. A slower dog means less able to protect. Got to admit the Americans were right on their breed.

What exactly are you training this dog for? It seems a little inconsistent and lack of purpose behind the "teasing"..

I just have a question about all of your videos. Why is it that the trainer or owner is always having to hold the dog back with a leash or harness before the attacker is threatening or hurting the dog or person? Shouldn't the dog be trained to have the obedience to wait until this happens or the owner commands the dog to attack? If the dog wasn't being held back it would just take off on it's own and attack another person without permission to do so. Thanks for the uploads!

Not trying to be rude, but those aren't true Dobermans. They were bred with Great Danes/other lg breeds back in the 70s.
Dobies were bred specifically for protection; they were bred to be fast and agile as well as deceptively powerful for their size. When they get bigger, they lose agility ,& often 'power to wt ratio'. A 162 lb Warlock Dobe isn't coming close to the Dobe's agility, speed, athleticism or stamina. Show me a dog weighing 160 lbs that's as shifty & athletic as a Dobie.
