    Great work. She's a good student. It's great to see the "work in progress" and some of the results. How old was Georgina in this video? She's such a beautiful example of a doberman. We've had two dobies and found them to be ultra smart, clever, loving, loyal, playful, goofy and good watch dogs. Ours seem to think they're lap dogs too!

    I've seen many Dobes heal this way- with their head up watching their owner. I imagine different 'heels' are for different circumstances. I actually liked some of the differences I saw in his training methods, and feel they may work for my more laid back Dobe who loves food. I also liked the collar and lead being used, very light control via these tools. More verbal, or signals I think.

    I think everyone is being a bit presumptuous with these negative comments. We have no idea what stages and what his specific goals were during these sessions. From what I see, it appears to be the very beginning stages of training for the dog.

    Whew that dog is hyper! I've grown up around them and the one's I've had as an adult are way more calm. I kind of think you are giving treats too often which is causing it because it thinks it should get one every few seconds. Hope it works out though.

    I am a dog trainer Owen Santos and yes treats are beginning stages cause just like a man the way to his heart is through is stomach. The comments I read below are of people who have never work with dogs (morons), I train every day and I always start with treats then taper off., This is most likely the first day or so of training. I have some of my videos on youtube: Bobbie from dog trainer Kuwait these are from my 9 day course I spend 5 days with the dog and 4 days training their people (the hardest part of training I might add because people don't listen as well as most of my dogs). So don't judge if you don't understand.

    • @teamdogfan393
      @teamdogfan393 9 років тому +2

      Bobbie Breitenbach I see then you are dog trainer also, and you understand what I'm doing. Of course this is just beginning of the training. Many people doesn't know then if you want to prepare dog for IPO, and work attractive, you must work with treats. All the best trainers on the World works with treats. I will put a video with older dog, to people who do not understand this could see what is a result.

    • @Myrdrahl
      @Myrdrahl 9 років тому

      Bobbie Breitenbach Does it work like, for instance, when you are teaching it to walk beside you - that you start off by giving treats frequently, and gradually hold back, giving fewer and fewer treats, as you move along? This seems like the obvious path for me, having no experience on training dogs at all. Suddenly, walking by your side is a habit, and no treat is needed?

    • @johnmetzker7625
      @johnmetzker7625 9 років тому

      +Myrdrahl Yes, that is how it's done. The faster you can get off the treat and still get the expected results IMHO the better.

      Now days if you look GOOOD trainers in IPO competition world, the dog is not watching handlers/trainers face, it looks in a armpit.. Why? Because the treat or ball or whatever toy has come from there. Dogs dont do stuff for you just because it is dog and it has to do work for you, dog does stuff to benefit, to get something out of it; toy, food, acceptance.. It is fun to read these and think that some of you really think yoirselfs as a good valid trainers ho can judge others so harshly...

You have to keep your dog from scratching them off and usually takes about 2-3 days. We're on our third doberman and we've never believed in cutting to crop.

    This shit doesn't impress me at all. It's is so clear that your dog is just food driven. I can get any dog to do this shit by starving him then offering food as a reward. Dobe's can learn any command within 3 tries. Using food as a method is week

      +Rodrigo Correa -- Your grammar and spelling show your ignorance. This dog was not offered food. She was given a treat, probably the size of your pinky fingernail. Treats are an excellent way to start training a dog. As far as actually learning a command (and doing it!) in 3 tries is ridiculous. Make a comment when you know what you're talking about!

I have to make sure he gets atleast an hour of high intensity activity to burn out his energy since he has so much. But hes awesome, very intelligent breed

    For everyone who thinks they know better how to train a dog.. I have one question.. What if they have just started doing obidience? hu? You think that young adult dog could train without treats and do some excelent obidience? .. No. When you start train adult dog, you train it like it as huge puppy. This dog actually is very active towards trainer, happy and joyfull, nice driven. Not shockcollar and pinchcollar around his neck, just treats and fun. I would like to see how YOUR dogs are doing obidience ;) I bet I could find thing or two what is wrong there

      You do realise that they are teaching the dog how to heel, right? Dogs aren't born knowing how to stick to the owners side like glue, which is what they are trying to achieve here. Just because you train using treats, doesn't mean you will only ever use treats.
      Do you get a dog to sit only by lifting a treat into the air every time? No, because the dog learns how to sit with a signal or command.
      This dog is just learning how to heel xD

It's obvious she's not starving and dying of hunger; what I meant is that you do not give her a satisfying daily meal or even a meal at all the whole day then you pull the bullshit stunts with the food. She's all over your hands not your commands. BTW, Guns N' Roses? Really? You're like 20 years behind! That's another thing foreigners do. "Idiot"

      See, somebody who doesn't know nothing about dogs comment dog training. Food training doesn't mean then dogs don't get full meal. Georgina on this video have 7 months, like every dog on that age she must to eat twice on day, beef and dog food. For training I use salami, she is not very nutrients. Probably you never had contact with dog training, all dog trainers in Europe(or I can say, the best) work on food.

This dog is a happy dog wanting to work. Would you rather see someone yanking on a pinch collar or shocking the dog? Behavior is driving by consequence. Why not apply the kind way :)

    Not impressed. You can get any dog to follow you around if you keep constantly feeding him treats.
