This looks like a life saver!!! We’ve been messing with irrigation for years. every year we think it’s good, then we always have dry dead spots. Thank you for the video, I look forward to trying it.
It’s been a year and over that time I have purchased 6 grids for 6x2 raised beds on ONE SIDE of my 20x30 structure These are in my greenhouse/ high tunnel and was the contributing factor for my gardens to survive the drought we had in East Texas last summer I’m hoping to have the funds to purchase 2 more 6x2 and 2 additional8x2 for the other side of my structure Overall I absolutely love these It’s because of this video that I took a chance THANK YOU
Love the product, saw your other videos mentioning it. Did some calculations of pricing. And decided to give it a try. Thank you for introducing such brilliant product!
I love the idea of these grids but I have twelve 4 x 8 foot beds... that's a LOT of dosh. :( I'll have to come up with a better option. I love the idea, though.
I run the grids the same amount of time no matter the time of year - long enough to water the beds deeply. It depends on the water pressure but for me its about 8 minutes. What changes is the time between watering. During the winter I may water once a week or less (if we get rain) and in the summer I may water every 1-2 days.
I went to the vender you recommend and they are trying to sell a hose connection and I would like to connect to my drip line as you have. Should I be ordering the hose adapter they recommend?
I have six running on one zone at the same time. There is a mainline with lines going out to each bed. There is plenty of pressure. If you have them attached on the same line (not branched off) it may have less pressure by the time it gets to the end. This is how my smaller beds are connected, and there is less pressure on the last bed. I would recommend running a central line instead. That way you are also able to put a flow adjuster on each bed and turn them on or off if you need to.
These videos are wonderful. We just setup our garden grid and it's great. Do you have advise on how to figure out how much water and how often? We're in Phoenix.
Run it until it waters the depth of your beds. Let the top inch or so dry out before watering again. This blog post may be helpful: growinginthegarden.com/best-way-to-water-raised-bed-gardens/
And can you please tell me where you got the on/off valve? I don't see it on Garden in Minutes website either, but it looks like maybe a Rain Bird Drip 1/2" Barbed On/Off Valve. Is that true?
I ordered. And noticed it is 3/4” tube. And bc I have a horse trough bed, it has rounded ends. I need to cut the corner squares off grid and end cap. But standard end caps at Home Depot are 1/2. Any recommendation?
I really like these! I have 8 beds, and like your system for linking them. But I have no idea how that part of the system (the drip line?) works. Do you have a video explaining that part?

These grids seem great but $150 for a 4x8 grid is pretty pricey . If I want these on 4 or 5 beds I'm looking at $600. hmmmmmmm Wondering if it could be done using cpvc or pvc or abs pipes and be less expensive, depending on all the connectors and how to adjust emitters or drilling holes hmmmm Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention, as they say........... I've learned how to do SOOOOO many things since prices to buy products or get people to DO things can be outrageous. Looking forward to automating the watering process even though I HAVE all the time I want each day... We'll see. Great idea for ease & efficiency using the grids : )
any problem with holes clogging with the hard water here in the low desert Az? -just tried to order a significant $ amount... they are not honoring the 10%
Hi. I've had one grid for several years and it works as well as the day I got it. My mistake on the code, I wrote down 10% off in this description, but the discount is $10 off $100. I'm sorry about that.

I was the same way. Little by little I've added the grids to my raised beds and haven't regretted it,
Ridiculously Expensive
I’ve been researching drip irrigation for the past week! This looks EXTREMELY helpful
I"ve tried many other methods and this is by far my favorite way to water raised beds.
@@GrowingInTheGarden It seems simple and efficient. Thanks for sharing

Glad it was helpful! I think you will love them. I've never regretted getting them for my beds.
Super glad I found this plus the link you gave me earlier today for these garden grids. I have 2 4x4 birdies beds that I’m going to get this for
Ask for the cornerless grids - they work well in that style of bed.
@@GrowingInTheGarden ok thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial, it was exactly what I was looking for before pulling the trigger on these! :)
I love love love mine--it really is the best garden idea I ever used
Oh yay! I found the video I was looking for! That grid is too big for what I need it for, but I think I can make something that will work.
My new favorite UA-cam channel
Thank you!
Exciting! Cant wait to see how it helps the garden!
Fingers crossed!
Awesome set up

You bet, thanks for watching.
How long and how often do you typically run a grid during the hot Summer and cold winter?
I run the grids the same amount of time no matter the time of year - long enough to water the beds deeply. It depends on the water pressure but for me its about 8 minutes. What changes is the time between watering. During the winter I may water once a week or less (if we get rain) and in the summer I may water every 1-2 days.
Would love to know how you got around your trellis with them. I bought several and it was well worth it.
I cut the tubing under the trellises that went on top and then put them back together with 1/2 tubing fittings.
I went to the vender you recommend and they are trying to sell a hose connection and I would like to connect to my drip line as you have. Should I be ordering the hose adapter they recommend?
You can connect it to regular 1/2 inch poly tubing. Hope that helps. Best of luck with your garden.
Converting a sprinkler head to use these grids, did you use a pressure regulator?
Yes - here's a video with more info: ua-cam.com/video/GXMsLnxkOEU/v-deo.html
@@GrowingInTheGarden thank you!
How many of these grids can you operate on a zone before you lose pressure?
I have six running on one zone at the same time. There is a mainline with lines going out to each bed. There is plenty of pressure.
If you have them attached on the same line (not branched off) it may have less pressure by the time it gets to the end. This is how my smaller beds are connected, and there is less pressure on the last bed.

I love this! Where did you get the black elbows to connect the drip to the grid?
Black and blue elbows please. They are blue on the ends or is that inside of them?
And can you please tell me where you got the on/off valve? I don't see it on Garden in Minutes website either, but it looks like maybe a Rain Bird Drip 1/2" Barbed On/Off Valve. Is that true?
I got all the connector pieces at Home Depot. Yes I believe it was that type of valve.
@@GrowingInTheGarden Awesome. Thank you!!

You can ask them to do cornerless beds. They may also have parts available online. Their customer service is great.
@@GrowingInTheGarden awesome thanks. In video didn’t you use 1/2” elbows? So 1/2” end caps should work
I really like these! I have 8 beds, and like your system for linking them. But I have no idea how that part of the system (the drip line?) works. Do you have a video explaining that part?
No, I don't it's linked into the existing sprinkler system.
Does the grid come with the pressure controller? If not, where did you get it? Same Store?
This is where I get the grids: gim.ositracker.com/140976/10616 - they also sell flow control valves.

Put the grids on top of the mulch, I just posted a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/0_mQs21b95w/v-deo.html

Looks very good but they only ship to usa and canada😏
Nice but the smallest ones are $85 apiece!
It's nice but for a 150$, I'll pass . I can make my own for 25$

Is there a method to connect four 8x4 grids to one hose?
