- The winter is finally here, and our miniature dachshund Mac saw snow for the first time! We are glad to see that Mac enjoys a snowy, winter day just as much as a warm, summer day.
Mac is a miniature sausage dog (doxie, teckel, dackel) who lives in Montreal. Follow his adventures here!

Always felt sorry for dogs with short legs in the snow. Had a neighbor that had a Bassett who had to drag his 'stuff' in the snow when out on a walk. Our Beagle doesn't like the snow and we have to shovel a path in the yard for her to go.

I don't think that Frisky Little Frankfurter was fazed at all with the cold and snow 😅 He was dressed to the nines and showed his fun side with his wagging tail ! Thank you for making my day. But I'm still not too happy being in the snow like Mac. ☺

Super sweet little doggie… You might consider a little boots… Once it starts to snow they put down salt and other caustic items to melt the snow and it can cause burns on their little pads… As I’m sure you know.❤

Mac’s first snow! Just like our Rosie’s first snow - unsure at first, then inquisitive and then full blown snow fun! Love him eating the snowman and playing fetch with the snowballs! Finally sweet, nap time in daddy’s arms. Love you sweet baby boy!

Looks like a nice snow - not too deep or too cold. I like Mac's coat. The color suits him nicely and it looks warm. My JR terrier has to have a hat or hood - his little ears let out a lot of body heat. It must be tough to be a dog like Mac with little short legs in snow as deep as his legs are long - but he looked to be having a lot of fun!
