- Hi guys! Here is a video showing a typical day in the life of our miniature dachshund puppy Mac. An ordinary day for Mac consists mostly of alternating between playing and sleeping (: We hope you enjoy and thanks so much for watching!
Mac is a 6-month-old mini dachshund puppy (doxie, teckel, dackel) who lives in Montreal. Follow his adventures here!

You are absolutely right. There are so many animals that are not doing well. For me, the dogs come first and then the people. Animals don't know envy - they take you as you are.

This made me cry. I just lost my little doxie abd am grieving terribly.. She was 1 month shy of being 21 years old. May you have at least as many loving years with your little sweetie.

Had a dachshund when I was a child, and his 'little dog' 'big personality' never got old.
I love to watch these dogs that are so loved every move they make shows just how much they are loved. He can relax when he sleeps & does not have to worry about being hurt or even disturbed! It is a lovely home you & your husband have for him!!!
Mac has a beautiful life with the best parents. No wonder he's such a happy, well adjusted Sausage 🐾❤️

As a little girl we had dashounds. I've never took noticed of their stretching which looks funny. Theirs always a ear flipped over, ha-ha! They love the sun. Their loveable, affectionate dogs and follow you all over the place. While cooking you've got to watch turning as they like to sit right where you're cooking hoping just maybe you'd drop something, ha-ha! Enjoy your moments with your dashound.😊❤

This makes me miss my girls. He is so cute and yes he does the same routine all Dachshund do. They have to smell and taste everything outside and on the floor. I thought my dogs were the only ones that slept on their backs, and they do love to lounge in the sun. He's a cutie and you can see he is loved. Many happy years to him.
What an absolutely adorable little dog Mac is so smart so loving and so well looked after that is why he is such a happy dog if only all animals could be as loved 😀

Had a wiener named Barney growing up. Most interesting dog I ever had, got him in when I was 13 and he was adorable but a could be really nasty and nippy when he was in a mood. But when he got older he chilled out and was the most hilarious dog ever. Loved his mom and loved being under the covers (subterranean) and loved doing his prairie dog stance.
He looks so smart in his sweater. Cutie. My doxie says hi.

Im so glad to see someone else who has the same routine as me. I started feeling bad because was walking my dog 3 to 4 times a day outside since he only pees out on walks. But glad to see someone else walking alot as well.

The 411 of Squirt and I .When I went looking around at the humane society for a dog he was running loose so I thought I'd squat down and catch him. We made eye contact and BOOM that was that.He literally leaps into my arms. He is licking my face and ears. His tail was wagging so hard I had to put my hand on his butt. I go up front to pay for him an the first two girls are just gawking. They get real serious and insisted I hand him over and I refuse. I tell them he's my dog and they tell me I may not be allowed to adopt him. I tell them this isn't a request and how much do I need to pay ? So here comes two more ladies and they stop and ask..... My God is that Squirt ? Who gave him Squirt ? Sir please can I have him ? I again said no. Folks I'm a legit 6 ft 7 and 380. I tell these two that I'm adopting him and what the Hell is going on ? They ask me to follow them to his kennel. On his kennel door is a paper sign ALL MALES PROHIBITED. FEMALE'S ONLY. Squirt is an abused rescue. I got him from the local humane society 9 year's ago when he was 7 to 8 months old. The abuse was so bad that the couple went to prison. 20 dog's and 30 cats in a double wide. The worst of it were burn / scar marks on all the taints of the male dog's and cats. Also on all the cats heads at the base of their ears. When Squirt was brought in they had to knock him out just to examine him. Every time any male would get with in ten feet Squirt would cower, growl, shake, pee on himself and look down or away. They weren't even sure if he was adoptable. This is a no kill shelter but sadly some animals have to be put down because of their aggressiveness. I took it all in and said I appreciate all that but he's mine and that's that. Now keep in mind folks Squirt is still being loving and placing his head on my neck and shoulders. They are so happy this is all unfolding like it is. I sign an aggression waiver, pay and they did tell me there would be a surprise visit. Sure enough four weeks later they drop by and they are so happy this dog is so different in a good way. I had the chance to adopt his brother and hin but at the time I couldn't afford to properly take care of two dogs. It wouldn't have been fair to half ass two dog's verses proprer care of the one. They weren't bonded so it was okay to just adopt Squirt. Hindsight I should have taken both so they could be company for one another but that's the one mistake I made. I've tried two other dog's but Squirt would have nothing of it. With both dog's at different times one a male and the other female he was very protective and I didn't feel safe leaving them alone. So they went back to the folks I got them from and we found home's for both. Squirt is a chewinnie. The only time I've ever failed him was not getting his brother. Squirt has serious anxiety issue's during storms or occasionally when I go to work so he has doggy prozac. I'm proud to say I'm a well trained hooman. I even put my box springs and mattress on the floor because he was to scared to use the ramp. He's never played with any toys ever. He has my the run of my apt and sadly he's even afraid to potty outside so he has pee towels that I wash and a potty pad. He has my queen bed and his two doggy beds and blankets as well as blankets on the floor to curl up in. From day one he's been overly loved and spoiled and that will continue until his very last breath. Yeah yeah I know I probably sound like a goofball but considering his history he's damn well earned it.
