Even when practicing Clapton gives all he have for blues cimfirming his great. Quality the "Solo" of this song is too sentimental performing as great artist I told this before the best on this planet Regards!! MR ERIC CLAPTON!¡
This is the bravest sort of recording: no baffles and screens, no separation between the instruments and thus limited opportunities for editing out mistakes later on. All these musicians are at the top of the game of course, but still...playing together like this creates a vibe it’s difficult to get otherwise and which, given all the differences in terms of equipment and musical history, is a true tribute to Robert Johnson. Clapton’s love of this music, and his long-term immersion in it, is evident in every detail of his singing and playing. Everyone else in the room responds and contributes to the total feel. Beautiful.

2:20 Man I love it when Clapton sings in falsetto, it's very hard to do, but Clapton's got one of the best voices for blues, so he can pull it off. Just sounds so fine, I love it!
Its interesting how we all revere Clapton so much (myself included), but when you hear him talk about Robert Johnson you realize Clapton holds that same reverence for him. Its just awesome.

Eric Clapton has turned to be a amazing Singer and blues player the last 20 to 30 years. Better and better. To the same level as the best as BB king, Elmore James.. Freddie king and lot of other and so on.
He may lack the the style of intensity like SRV but Eric can squeeze every ounce from the pentatonic. Subtle, imaginative, and fresh. And he leaves plenty of room in his solos. Great e example of that right here with this performance
Bien sûr chez Clapton il y a la guitare avec tout ce que cela comporte. Mais il y a aussi la voix! Magnifique toujours, somptueuse sur ce morceau. Merci pour la vidéo.
ERIC YOU ARE MY HERO FOREVER!! You have changed my life and guitar playing for many years. Thank You very much!!! You are really the best. I love this Robert Johnson sessions. Erics guitar sound is so much dynamic. A really nice tone.
He got it from Richard Manuel of The Band using Falsetto in a number of his songs, he loved Richard's Singing and The Band of course as well..he's using it in Lonesome Stranger just like Richard would have.. Listen to Richard Sing I Shall Be Released on Big Pink..
I ve heard many of Erics stuff and never heard him sing this high and sustained, even though is a falsetto, must have been a very good damn reason for him to do that.

Steve Gadd on the drums........i have stopped drinking red vino im in heaveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.brill man ,not taking anything away from MR ERIC CLAPTON.the real deal!!!!!!
Fun stuff. Eric is really good. The other musicians (Doyle Bramhall II, Nathan East, Steve Gadd, Billy Preston, Chris Stainton) are fantastic also. The other guitarist is playing left-handed upside down. Woah. 3:29
Die dritte Aufnahme aus der "Session for R. Johnson". Clapton-Gesang mal ganz anders. Und ein fulminantes Solo in einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre, direkt, ohne jede Distanz: Alle Akteure völlig Blues- verrückt.
In general Clapton sounds remarkably like the album _Freddy King Sings_, vocally and instrumentally, because he was obsessed with that album as a teenager. Freddy King was influenced by B.B. King, who admired Lonnie Johnson, Lemon Jefferson, and T-Bone Walker. Conversation between B.B. King and John Lee Hooker, April 4, 1993: "Robert... wasn't my idol." "No, he wasn't mine, either.... I'm not a fan of his...." (Elsewhere in the same conversation, JLH: "I love that Lowell Fulson." ... BBK: "I was crazy about Lowell Fulson.")
Impresionante blues Clapton lo mas GRANDE y por supuesto Billy, Steve, East, Gadd y chris. En que año se hizo esta grabacion?, Porque Preston, Fallecio en el 2006. Una lastima, como tocaba el organo.

Little point in commenting here, you said it all. But I'll add if Eric's only contribution to this performance were his vocals, he'd have said it all.
well put
Amazing how the skinny English boy developed into the greatest singer and guitarist in modern blues history
And amazing how, during that same period, he could go on stage and rant about immigrants and n*'s ruining Britain

I think that’s rather rude of you to be calling him skinny. He’s just maintained good health for a number of years. Go back to Germany

one of best ,lest we not forget Gregg Allman ,and Captain Beefhart.
It is not very hard to do if you pick the right key for your voice..
Yes I was shocked

Clapton's vocals are just superb in this one...entire band sounds awesome, love the solos!
I play the acoustic version. Spent years thinking about nice ways to sing this and Clapton just captures it in the most authentic and convincing way.
WHENEVER I listen to Clapton perform heavy blues, I am more in LOVE! HEAVY BLUES IMO has always been his forte.
NOTHING beats a superb bluesband . FANTASTIC !!!

another great blues song from a truly real "Guitar God"

I'm getting this undescribable feeling watching this right now. Amazing.
This is truly Clapton at his finest.
I love Eric's falsetto! It's not particularly high, but beautifully shows his emotion!

Really the blues’master!!. Amazing Eric
Now " THIS " is a Blues song 🎵 and Clapton is at the top of my fav. 5 for the Blues!
Said it before, say it again: Eric Clapton, Fender Stratocaster, Electric Blues. Says it all.
LOVE THE BLUES SO MUCH
Steve Gadd, wonderful drummer!
I have this album and love it!
I ve heard many of Erics stuff and never heard him sing this high and sustained, even though is a falsetto, must have been a very good damn reason for him to do that.
The reason is that he is imitating Robert Johnson. Listen to the original recording. Falsetto was almost a Johnson's trademark...
He's used his falsetto a few times over the years, but yes, it is quite a rare thing...
