You know, I came here because my language (hungarian) is part of the finno-ugric language family, and interestingly, we pronounce everything the same way as you did in Finnish. I guess the roots are similar! 😀
Finnish people speaking English honestly remind me of 'early modern' English, slightly prior the Shakespear's original pronunciation. They way you pronounce many 'W' as 'V' like 'vater' for water, the way you roll the 'R' and even how you stress pronounce the vowel sounds, is very like how it was done before the 'great vowel' shift - again water was once 'vaatirr' with the 'a' as in 'cat' and the 'r' rolled at the end. I think it's got something to do with the actual sounds in the names and how close they are to Finnish sounds. Apple ends in a very awkward consonant combination /pʰl/ (since the e is silent), which is completely against the Finnish phonology and hence very difficult for a Finn to pronounce. Disney, however, follows the Finnish phonology more or less, since it's pronounced /disni/. Can't say this is a rule though, but that's the most logical explanation for the pronunciation of these particular names.

Omg i just relized, if you're Indonesian you would be able to pronounce the finnish words very easily. I'm Indonesian, and the way we tell words is pretty similar with Finnish. We just crush the letters to each other into sentences just how they sound in Indonesian alphabets.

My great grandparents on my dad's side was from Finland and migrated to America I can't remember what year my dad said but he said my great grandmothers accent was really thick and he had to really listen to understand her 😂
A combination of the super simplicity of the English grammar and the rock solid simplicity of the Finnish pronunciation would make the easiest language in the universe.

In English a single letter can be pronounced in multiple different ways, depending on the neighbouring letters or the word. The stress is also always on the first syllable of the word in Finnish. Also, if there's one vowel written, it's pronounced short, if there are two of the same, it's pronounced long. Quite logical. You often see Spanish speakers say Spanish is very consistent. Finnish is even more so. However, that's the only simple thing about Finnish. Everything else is extremely complicated. So, for a perfect universal language that would be the only thing acceptable from Finnish.
You and my nephew's wife could pass for sisters --- beautiful ! I'm of Finnish descent, my grandparents came over from Finland. The finns I know who also speak English have a much more 'finnish' accent. Call me crazy but some of your pronunciations sounded German or Russian to me.

One of my gaming buddys is in this boat, and let me tell you half the fun of playing with him is understanding what he is saying on discord! I have to ask him to repeat himself nearly every other sentence because just certain words my ears cannot comprehend the audible noises I am hearing! he sometimes gets aggravated having to constantly repeat himself. In the end its my problem/fault and not his as at least he can communicate in another language while my dumbass is locked in english.

A broad Finnish acent is not jus about the intonation - the difficulty is, amny english consonants don't exist in Finnish. So a very, VERY broad Finnish might be even incomprehensible at times for a native. But anyway, I think I'm off to the Hydraulic Press Channel now.

Good strategy (IE- Finnish pronunciation) to help my students with spelling

I'm of Finnish descent, my grandparents came over from Finland. The finns I know who also speak English have a much more 'finnish' accent. Call me crazy but some of your pronunciations sounded German or Russian to me.

One of my gaming buddys is in this boat, and let me tell you half the fun of playing with him is understanding what he is saying on discord! I have to ask him to repeat himself nearly every other sentence because just certain words my ears cannot comprehend the audible noises I am hearing! he sometimes gets aggravated having to constantly repeat himself. In the end its my problem/fault and not his as at least he can communicate in another language while my dumbass is locked in english.

Mulla oli yläasteella samalla luokalla tyttö joka ei oppinu englantia oikeesti mitenkään ja se luki kaiken just tollain kirjain kerrallaan niinkun se sana siinä oli.. :D Opettajat yritti kaikkensa että se oppis lausuu mut se ei oppinu vielä ysilläkää..Myöhemmin oltiin samassa amiksessaki ja se jatku vielä sielläki..En käsitä miten se voi olla niin vaikeeta..

Many finns have that harsh kinda "accsent" but I think my english is pretty good with some exeptions
A broad Finnish acent is not jus about the intonation - the difficulty is, amny english consonants don't exist in Finnish. So a very, VERY broad Finnish might be even incomprehensible at times for a native.
But anyway, I think I'm off to the Hydraulic Press Channel now.

The finnish way of pronouncing "Y" (translate.google.com/#fi/en/y) might be a bit difficult for an english speaker to grasp since there's really nothing similar in english. English speaking brain probably doesn't even register it the same way a finnish speaking brain does.
