    I have the wen and didnt think it would run my 13500 ac, so I always lugged my 3500 predator around. I tried this out and was shocked, it worked ac was blowing 69 degree air out on a 85 degree day no more 100 lb generator

    The rings, push rods, valves, etc, are made of ferrous material-even within an aluminum engine. The way in which you incorporate various aspects of hurricane preparedness into your videos is appreciated; especially for those who were raised in an earthquake state.

    Works for mine, 13500 watt. I turn everything off, turn on the ac fan, then the ac. The generator sounds like it might stall for a couple seconds and then recovers. But if the compressor goes off it's likely to stall when it comes back on. So, I set the thermostat to 40 degrees which it will never reach on a hot enough day to require ac and will keep the ac constant on. It's the start up that draws the most power.

    Thanks for the review. That WEN 2350 watt generator is a great little generator, especially for me to lift. I’m an elderly person with a bad back but I can lift 39 pounds.

    Great video looking at getting one of these . I’ll probably still pull the plug just to make sure it’s gauged correctly. 100% correct on break in oil, I too rebuild and work on a lot of small engines.

    That is a nice little unit, The outlets are rated for 20 amps, A 15 amp will not have the side slot on the neutral side of the outlet, a 20amp will. I have done alot of maintenance on WEN's but very few have needed repairs. I would suggest getting a spare carburetor just incase.

    I used Amsoil 30w Break-in oil for 30 minutes. Then drained it and ran it again for an hour. Then I put in Amsoil 5w-30 Siganature Series.
    I have about 10 hours on it and it runs great. I did a compression test and it's at 148psi. Very impressed.
    I also have the magnetic dipstick and take it out and wipe it off every hour or so. Oil is still clear.

    I have two of these generators and a parallel kit. Last weekend I broke the pull cord on one and was down to one G, it still ran my AC fine. Like you said, slow start up, first fan on low, then med to high then AC low. I'm running two G's on the P kit because I have heard it's less stress on the G and AC system to not max out the G. Now I'm glad I had two because I would have been out of luck with only one G with a broken pull cord.

    The benefit to me as someone watching the video of knowing the decibels is that many campgrounds have a decibel limit. Also, does the AC in your camper have soft start? I know in my older camper it doesn't, so the draw will be high when the compressor kicks in.

    • @cognetic
      @cognetic 2 роки тому +1

      @@barryzoll9772 yeah. I paid the premium for Honda, for its reliability and quietness. I have (2) 2200 and (1) whole house 7000. Truly lived and died by them in the recent Texas freeze power outage. It would be hard to give my Hondas up. But open to cheaper long term review alternatives.

    • @barryzoll9772

      @@cognetic same here. I have an EU2000 and an EB5000. Never failed me. It’s interesting to see what the copycats have done. I’ll be interested to see if anybody comments about having any problems with the WEN or other brands and what kind of service they get if any and if they can get me parts. Only time will tell and then it raises the question of if it’s that much cheaper who cares if you can get the parts or any service you just throw it away. But unlike other items the generator is something we depend on in my case, we have some medical devices at home that must run so dependability is very important.

    • @randybobandy9828

      I would only buy the Honda in a few circumstances like where I need to depend on it with my life or for running a business where you can't afford a generator failure in the middle of a job. For camping or offgrid living or back up home power this thing will do just fine for $400 vs $1200.

    Do you know if this will run on E10 gasoline?

    • @ndoren
      @ndoren 2 роки тому +2

      In my opinion, e10 is a poor choice due to the short shelf life and its tendency to gum the carb. I use ethanol free "TruFuel" with 2-year shelf life. It's expensive but worth it.

    • @CharltonSupporter
      @CharltonSupporter 2 роки тому +1

      @@ndoren Thank you for your input. E10 fuel is being introduced here in the UK. I run 2 stroke motors and have even had problems with E5 fuel. As you say there are fuels available we use them for motorcycle sprinting but are very expensive. Ordinary pump fuel is approaching £10/gallon.

    • @TK4619
      @TK4619 2 роки тому +1

      @@ndoren Check gas stations in more rural areas for ethanol free fuel at the pump. I use premium and add Startron to my cans before filling, I have seen alot as a small engine mechanic that does alot of generator repairs. Do not use stabil as it turns to muck.

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 Рік тому

      @ndoren no it's not worth it at all. Imagine running your $300 generator on $23/gallon fuel just to potentially prolong its life. It doesn't make financial sense.

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 Рік тому

      @CharltonSupporter what 2 stroke are you having issues with e10 fuel on? My 1300cc 2 stroke jet skis run fine with it. I also buy high octane e10 though, it's about 10% more expensive but Worth it. I store my jet skis with ethonal free gas because the ethanol with gum up the fuel lines and put Moister from the air while sitting in the winter. I guess the UK doesn't have harsh winters where it freezes tho.
