i heard it was nicks idea to have a unique band play at the end of every episode. he found them all too. his reasoning was something like "snl always played good music every show in their prime" honestly great call on nicks part. these episodes wouldnt be the same without the unique tunes at the end of each one. hope the continue with that in the second season.
It is continuing, and I completely agree with you. I remember when it first aired seeing/hearing John Maus and losing my mind because I’d loved his music for years, hope they get him to do something for season 2. The show really captured an era

This is a comedy sketch show but it's level of emotional underpinning makes it unlike anything that's come before it while still being in step of sketch comedy traditions. I really am excited to see what WP2 does.

Hoping to get Sam on the project to send me some stuff I can use (uncompressed 1080p graphics, unreleased sketches, music used, etc). I HAVE contacted Sam, Ruse, and a P&C guy for graphics and materials but have not gotten a response. Ruse seems to be distancing himself as he works on bigger projects, the P&C guy wouldn’t give me anything due to a NDA of materials relating to the show, and Sam has ignored/not seen my email. Might reach out again, but he seems to be busy atm 👀.

@@clarus. it's happened a ton in DIY punk/indie/whatever scenes that somebody calls out a band for doing some shit, like a member has some abuse allegation or whatever, and it basically stops them from getting gigs. The venues stop booking these bands because they don't want to get called out for appearing okay with whatever the band did. I've seen it happen mad times. A band recently lost a gig because they had some nazi imagery on a tape they put out when they were teenagers and came out being like "we were just being edgy teens we're not into nazi shit, that was like 8 years ago" but it was still enough to get em to lose the gig. Shit spread and they broke up cuz nobody wants to associate with them. I got no clue what ovlov is on record saying to try and separate themselves from MDE, but it's just not a surprising decision. You either die on that hill thinking MDE is gonna keep you alive or you say "we didn't know any better" and hopefully carry on as if it never happened. Since they knew the show got cancelled anyway, obviously they're gonna try and say they didn't know better lol. Def seemed unlikely at the time that siding with MDE was gonna get them anywhere

So annoying how every band pretty much felt the need to bad mouth MDE because of what the climate was then and it's just poetic how after a long slog MDE are back to where they were in 2016 (or even better in some ways) and every band that bad mouthed them is pretty much dead. Art always wins.
