Great video as always :) My weekend was just packing. And pretty much all my main art supplies are packed :( so no art but seeing the difference between work April and weekend April would be fun. Also, that bright yellow bear was my favourite to :D

Hello April, I'm new to your channel and enjoyed your vlog. I had to laugh and giggle at some of the commentary, such as "someone plays D & D, so I gonna do art". My hubs plays games every Sunday with his mates (NZ and UK - I'm in NZ), so I spend that time doing art or other stuff. Alot of brilliant moments of time where I feel you and I appreciate how your share your environment, it gives me ideas and hope as I grow my art skills. So I look forward to see what else you're up to!
@@HaunaniPao ahh nice! I lived in UK, NZ and South Africa for equal times before I was 24 so my accent was a bit random. I think I’ve been in England long enough now that it is more British sounding 🤔
@@monkeymintaka - you sounded fine to me, I think my accent is 70% American, 30% Kiwi mostly from the vocabulary, so I'm an Amerkiwi! I write pretty much 100% British..with that damn "U' in everything like colour. Who knows what will happen after a few more years. And my art skills? hmm...just learning. I have some oil pastels but never used them, so I was happy to watch how you used them and will it a chance! Who knows?!
I hear you! I do the same thing and find the week-end goes in a blink and I haven't done what I planned. But I am sitting here drawing whilst listening to you (instead of editing my own video).
Love your work. Is there a reason you don't use pencil extenders? And textile artists often work in series and make many pieces that are iterations of the same design, so if that is your inclination, it's a great idea.
I do have some but I just didn’t like using them. I kind of love the struggle with the small pencils too 😂😂 I sent a bunch to Katie Moody though so at least someone is using them :)
Know what you mean! Why do easy? I'm a textile artist resting my hand at the moment because I just finished a piece that wore a hole in my finger. Could use a thimble, but can't stand the awkwardness.😅

I wanted to ask you, what is the difference between the neocolours and the neopastels you use? I am using the neocolour II and I am enjoying the water soluble function they have, but I am really interested in the ones you used for your cute bears!
I’m glad you are enjoying the channel! The neocolors are wax based crayons, and the neo pastels are basically oil pastels. They are a little firmer than some oil pastels I have tried. They are both very fun to play with :)
I'm reallhy enjoying your video April. You're inspiring to take out my pastels and start making art with them. I'm new to art, I started drawing back in January of this year. I'm looking to take an art class this fall just to learn some basics and then maybe a computer art class in January. In the meantime though I'm learning loads through your videos 🙂. I think you should REALLY get on that train of creating a course. I would sign up for it, for SURE!! I think I've been afraid of the pastels because they smudge so easily and I think I would just make a mess honestly...lol...but practice makes perfect , right.?lol.. On another note - Black Mirror, oh my gosh!!! I was watching the second episode of the 6th season ...how horrifying. I have 12 minutes left to watch but I got spooked after the girlfried discovered what her boyfriends mother and father had done to that other couple. I stopped when the girlfriend left the house and then you see the car lights of the mother ...EEEKKKKK...lol. My husbnand and I are going to finish watching tonight...lol. Have a great rest of the week April and looking forward to seeing your next video!

It stays up very late in the summer! And the further north you go, the lighter is stays.

It’s a black wing pencil. It’s basically just a dark graphite, so any graphite pencil would work. Something like 4b or 6B will be nice and dark :)
