😂😂😂 This must be the funniest Art Haul I’ve ever seen! Your comments! 🤣 Thanks for brightening up my afternoon on what has been yet another miserable wet day here in the UK!
Really shake the Golden bottles well to get the best results - I have a quite a few of the titanium mixed ones and they separate a lot between uses. The chalky Schminke color may be more sticky due to binder separation - you can stick a toothpick in it and give it a good stir. The Museum Aquarelle are the higher quality - I believe the colors in the museum line are lightfast.
Thankyou! I will try to remember. I don’t have a lot of shake-before-using materials so I keep forgetting! The sticky one was weird, so I’ll try to properly mix it next time
Hi April! Such a pretty cover painting!! Thanks to you and your other videos I just painted my first sketchbook cover. Never had that idea before. It was great fun. :) As for the name Ruegen chalk on the Schmincke Horadam naturals tube: the german island Ruegen has similar to Dover chalk cliffs. :)
Ahh yay! It's a fun exercise. i have tried to paint every sketchbook for the last couple of years. It is very chill and no pressure. Which is probably why they turn out quite nice!
I have the liqutex acryla gouache and the tip inside can get dry. But it is because I hadn't touched them in a year, and it was only one of them. But the paint inside was still great. Just use a sewing needle to stab out the dry paint.
The Museum Aquarelles are artist quality, and the only pencil I would call "watercolour pencil" instead of just "watersoluble". They have the maximum lightfastness and the white is the best white to layer over other colours (in case you've been hunting for white coloured pencils). The Supracolors are nice as well, I'd say they are 'studio' quality -- somewhere between artists and student. The MAs are same as Luminance and Supras same as Pablos in permanent ranges.
So glad you liked the antelope brown, I was hoping so as I suggested you would like it. It's got a greenish tinge to it, quite similar to the stil de grain watercolour you got. I love the museum wc pencils a lot, and yes, they're the higher quality. I might have to get the fluro pink pencil now.
Hi! Oh we finally get to see the mystery goodies you got in London! Love the video!! Love a good haul!! I was one of the ones that suggested Yupo paper for the alcohol inks. Hope you enjoy it!! For potential recommendations since you love neon, 2 things to try if you havent already: Liquitex Acrylic Inks (same line you got) but on neon colors and Pentel Oil Pastels Neon set (super cheap! About 3 pounds for the set amd they are super neon!) Oil pastels are not my fave but love neon!!😍
Ahhh thanks for the suggestions, sorry i forgot it was you. I haven't tried the yupo paper yet actually. I probably should do that! neon oil pastels sounds crazy!
Those kuretake neons are something of other world 🤩🤩 i don't use watercolour pencils, well I used them as regular colour pencils but maybe I should give them a chance 😅 you present us always the funniest videos April ❤
Okay, one more comment for engagement. 😂 I absolutely love the bunny cover, especially the background! So many delicious colours and shapes. 😍😍😍 As for materials, I have everything you showed except for the Kuretake neons (which I want, don't know where to get), the Schmincke Naturals (wanted until I learned how fugitive they are -- and I have too many watercolours as it is) and the Liquitex gouache (which I've avoided on principle -- they are not actual acrylic gouache but acrylic paint with matte additives). 😅 Oops. The Golden Fluids are amazing and would love more but they're so expensive! Especially if you look at the larger sizes on Jackson's. 😫 Ideas for next haul -- oh boy. Koh-i-Noor highlighter pencils? Liquitex Fluid acrylics? I've been tempted by the neons. 😅 Flashes? Like how about Stil de Grain? (the Fluo Rouge is my addiction right now and I really want to see what the Fluo White does!) Stil de grain is from buckthorn berries. 😊 Okay, I need parental controls to block all art material discussions. 😅 Sorry for the novel.
The neon paints were from choosing keeping but I think you can find them lots of places online! Thanks for the suggestions, I have tried the koohinor highlighter pencils and really like them :) I am so bad at getting lightfast materials, but I need to look more into it in the future if I want to sell originals. Thanks for your comment! Always appreciate more comments than less :)
Very good choices. I picked up the Lumi Neons last year during my Japan trip and I was instantly OBSESSED 🤩. I’m new around here and feel very much at home here, so I’m gonna sub 🥰❤️
It is lovely! It’s a sea white of Brighton soft cover square sketchbook. I found them hard to get ahold of so I actually bought 10 at one time from a website online. I
It was a bit shiny when it was a bit thicker. I need to play with it more though, to give a proper answer. I have too many materials now, I need to use the ones I have and not buy anything new for a while 🙈
Sorry I haven’t replied sooner! I actually tried to find the pencil for you today but I have misplaced it! No idea where it is. But if you go on choosing keeping website you will probably be able to find it.
Love the video as always 🤩🤭 the chatting is as fun as the swatching and painting 🥰 on a side note: do you mind sharing the name of the camera that you're using? The quality is stunning - the neons really looked neon-y😯
Ahh I'm glad you liked the quality as I always struggle with getting it to look good. I have been looking more into the settings this week to try to get a more consistent look though. My camera is a Sony ZVE 10, but for a couple of the closer shots (like when I was swatching the neons) I was just using my iphone which I think is the 12 or 13. Glad you enjoyed the chatting!
Have you tried Mozart komorebi Japanese watercolours. They're like a cheaper version of kuretake gansai tambi but they have 6 fluorescents in their set
I did not know that caran dache had neon pencils, I've been using staedler (?) text surfer ones they also have green ;) but they are also chubby ones I use a fiskars sharpener it's just like a kids' school kind but its round its my fave pencil sharpener it's got a nice big hole lol
Ooh I haven’t heard of those ones! I do have a chunky sharpener somewhere but I’m in the middle of organising my room and everything is a bit of a mess
Love the good night patchy bunny book cover! I’ve also ordered some Liquitex gouache from blick’s and after watching your video I cannot wait to try them out! ❤
@@monkeymintaka I got Hookers Green that’s really pretty and yellow oxide. Those two I really like. Others were light pink, cadmium free red, cerulean blue hue and raw umber. I’ll soon make a piece and report back with my favorite 😊 did you find that the liquitex gouache was going on a little more transparent than the Holbein on Royal Talens?
@@Payal_mathur yellow oxidise sounds so pretty! I didn’t notice any difference really but then I havent used paint for a while, I’ve been using paint pens and ink a lot recently.
@@monkeymintaka oh nice! I kind of got a bunch of paint pens but I find myself reaching for color pencils the most and watercolor/gouache for backgrounds. I still need to get proper use out of my paint pens. In the inks which ones are your favorites? I have a set of ecoline inks which are really awesome for wet on wet backgrounds and recently I got 1 Daler Rowney acrylic ink in light pink to use in life drawing.
Do you have plans for a video where you paint a landscape sketchbook cover? The ones you showed on instagram are some of my favourite works of yours and I would love to see how you go about them 🤩☺️
Not a full video, but I painted one in this one right? I think if I do they’ll just be popping up randomly. I normally do them when I want to paint something. It doesn’t it super chill. I’m glad you like them!
"the best thing in the Tate" 😱 ok, this it, have to unsubscribe! Cute cats, but the Turner collection at Tate Britain is like the best museum in the world. Closely followed by the Rothko room (Tate Modern). (okay, me and my outrage will get back to the haul -> like i need to be influenced to buy more art supplies 🙄😅)
I guess you have an eye for modern art! I don't think I'm cerebral enough 😆 Also while we were at the Tate we really wanted to see the two xhibitions that looked really cool but they were both sold out, so I felt a bit bitter maybe 😂
The neons turned out so good!!! And you wanted loadsss more from Choosing Keeping 🥸😝 you can also make any acrylic paint into fluid by adding fluid medium

Ahh yay! I’m glad you liked it. I thought I was pretty funny too, as I was editing it, so I’m glad you agree 😂😂
Most of her videos are like that. Funny! ❤ Courtney
The presentation of the supplies generated so much dopamine for me. They look so lovely.
Yay! Glad you liked it :)
Funny and entertaining video as always. ohh and all the neon colours 😍
Glad you liked it!
A pleasure to watch, as usual!
Glad you liked it :)

Every time I watch one of these I see lots of things I want to try. and I love the cover of the sketchbook.
Thanks Katie :) It was a bit annoying as today I found out Jackson’s is doing a sale and most of the things I bought are now cheaper 😱
@@monkeymintaka I hate when that happens

Yeah it happens to the almost finished ones the most. I normally use the drier paint anyway but just squish it with a bit more water.

Oh that’s great! Thanks for the info :) they both felt similar to me but I’m not very experienced with watercolour pencils.
your analogies are the best😂 What a great haul video.

It was a Jackson’s oynx square brush. I think 1 inch.
