- A full ride aboard the Calico Mine Train at Knott's Berry Farm during the park's first season passholder preview day: Thursday, May 6, 2021.
I hope they NEVER get rid of this ride, along with the Timber Mountain Log Ride. Huge staples of Knotts Berry Farm! Classic memories!
It was nice of the employee letting the creator to get in the front
MY FAVORITE RIDE AT KNOTT'S!
I have a collection of the same lanterns from this ride and log ride. The oldest one I have is dated 1916 and most recent dated June 9 1944, just 3 days after D-day. All of them are still in good shape and I use them every now and then. I plan on going off grid and build on my property to look like the scenery from these rides.
Calico mine train is my favorite ride at Knott's Berry Farm
Not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf recently xD
@Eric Bryan Yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself =)
@louisvillecardinals2406that was the other one
I love this ride and the Log Ride. Two rides from my childhood that made a strong impression on me.
I think it was this ride or something. In 2019, while I was riding the ride, there was a tour announcer talking, and her voice sounded like Applejack from My Little Pony. I was all like "Is that Applejack?!" Good times.
That would be awesome if Ashley Ball did the announcements for one of the ride vehicles in Applejack's or Rainbow Dash's voice
6:30 i remember when i got to this part i thought there was going to be a drop and i got so scared
The best themed ride at Knott's Berry Farm (Log Ride a close 2nd)!
Log Ride #1
Mine Train Ride #2
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
@@davidwesley2525 Covered wagon mini-show #1 :(
7:01 that cave part always scared me as a kid 😂
Same bro

7:00 vamping
Creepy organ music at 7:10.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I remember as a kid the animatronics always freaked me the fuck out and to this day I still get this uncanny feeling when looking at those animatronics
Fnaf got to your head 😂
Im scared of that ride because of the animatronics
Those are the best part... and the lanterns.
Plus did you hear that whistle? Sounds like the Disneyland Railroad locomotive #1.
A ride similar to Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland!
Knott's Berry Farm's Calico Mine Ride predates Big Thunder Mountain by a long shot. In fact, Disney -ahem- borrowed a lot from Knott's Berry Farm. 😁
Well, not exactly the same ride I took for the first time in 1966, and many times in my childhood thereafter...but the spirit is the same. Please Knotts, don't ever get rid of this icon. (I do miss the original ethereal music played during the multi-lighted caverns sequence)
The Chinese guy in the lift frightened me as a kid.
This ride is fantastic!
Yeah but it's loud
@@michaelramos810 Ha! As a kid I would cover my ears when the rocks came tumbling out of a chute near the end of the ride....
This is amazing I swear, when the cave is blackened to it's darkest whilst going uphill, which(How did they pull that one off?) Put a lifthill in a small mine😯. SERIOUSLY, and the best part the stalagmites and stalagmites showed up
2nd best dark ride ever built!
"Its about like a hundred ugly dudes grunting at the same time" -Rocco Botte
Bluegrass music makes the ride better.
They have now a Halloween overlay called the calico candy mine ride which adds music to the ride
Not bluegrass but a spin on the song “big rock candy mountain” which is a folk music song
Fun fact this ride derailed earlier today
And fortunately nobody was hurt.
You know this would a great faster coaster ride.
True...but it doesn't need to be.
What's interesting is, this ride is technically a (very slow) coaster. The train moves through gravity at the beginning, then goes up a chain lift hill midway, then uses gravity again to finish the ride. Many parts of the track are at a slight downward angle so the train can move (I worked at this ride in 1994-95.)
Some drivers go REALLY fast at the end literally dynamite driving but it all depends on who is the driver
@@victorunboxestheworld I was going to say, I remember riding when I was a kid and the driver was hauling ass. It felt like a coaster back then.
@@TheHaloRed I knew that engine looked fake
Good👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Yes👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are there any drops on this ride? Or is it kid friendly?
No drops, very kid friendly.
Love 💕 this ride 👍😘👍
Here after yesterday’s derailment. Hmmm seems that last curve is really tight.
There’s only one other park that has this level of detail and theming: Disneyland
remember when it derailed in November 30th 2021?
Este da miedo o no?
No its not scary it's kid friendly
