It seems to me that Knotts is upping it's game quite effectively! As a California native, I can attest that Knotts in the 70's was awesome!! It was like walking through history, to this child's eyes anyway! 😁
@@OrdinaryAdventures In my 70's and I still remember when my parents would drive down "Beach Blvd' and drop me off with some cash at Knotts, while they drove to the beach and hung out (I was about 10). Then they would come find me and we would all eat dinner of Fried Chicken and boysenberry turnovers. P.S. Knott's Berry Farm was free, no entry fee...lol🥰
I remember when it was FREE to enter Knotts…just pay for a ride at a time back then. Who remembers the seals which you could feed? I miss the good old days!
@@heidi4132 yes.. we couldn't afford Disneyland so we went to Knott's for free and then had a picnic at the park near Independence Hall. We walked around Ghost Town and usually rode The Log Ride and sometimes did The Haunted Shack.❤
I know I’m gonna get a lot of hate for what I’m about to say, but Knotsberry farm is way better than Disneyland hands-down but that’s just my opinion all right please do not come after me for that comment LOL
Since Disney's Galactic Starcruiser is shutting down, hopefully they'll incorporate more of that immersion and interactive storytelling into the parks.
In the late 1950’s I loved Knott’s. There was no fence. And no admission fee. Me grandmother who was born in 1891 and was a real teacher in a real one room schoolhouse. This was in Kansas. Anyway during the 1950’s she worked for Knott’s as the teacher in the schoolhouse. It was a wonderful time. Mott’s miniatures . The glow-in-the-dark store, etc.
Last October we had a family vacation in California, and I pretty much forced my family to visit the Knott’s chicken dinner restaurant, mainly because of videos like yours making me want to experience the place. Like, I almost had to drag them there. We got there late so we were pretty much the last people in the restaurant and we couldn’t really do much in terms of buying souvenirs or viewing much. My family absolutely fell in love with the place in that short time though. Now they want a full day in the park next time we visit.
go back farther, to when they were motorcycles.. I mean, yes, it was terrifyingly dangerous, but SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME! You know how the soap box racers leaned? it was the same track and same basic design, but you sat on top of "motorcycles" on bicycle seats instead of inside the cars..
I used to be a ride operator at Knott's in Fiesta Village! I met my now fiance there, he was also a ride operator at Fiesta Village and Boardwalk. We've been together 20 years this August! Knott's will always hold a special place in my heart! ❤️ this video brought back so many memories!
The only thing that could make Knott's better would be if they brought back the "Dip Your Own Candles" place. One of the best memories ever was making my own candles. The store's smell was unique and such a warm memory from my childhood❤.
So it all started with one of your Universal Studios VIP tour videos, then on to this video, (because I love Universal and Knotts and Disney), but haven't been to any of them for several years now. :-( And now i'm binge watching more of your videos. LOL :-) I hope to finally take a cruise next year. (Love the Symphony of the Seas Video!!) You have a New Fan in Me. You guys are So Funny!
During Peanuts Celebration we had the pulled pork on a cornbread funnel cake. It was unbelievable. Best thing I’ve ever eaten at Knott’s, including the boysenberry barbecue meatballs from Boysenberry Festival last year. I dearly wish they bring back the cornbread funnel cake.
I feel like Knott's invests a lot of money in more intimate interactions as opposed to big nighttime spectaculars and huge parades. Ghost Town Alive, storybook reading, marionettes, multiple live music entertainers across various areas, dancers, craftpersons, and that's just naming what I saw in this video. Personally, it fills a different spot, and it just emphasizes the differences between Knott's and it's mouse-clad cousin up the road. It's a wonderful departure from the "Big Boys" in the industry. Thank you so much for taking the time to focus on those smaller experiences.
I went to Knott's Scary farms last year. The Ghost Town Alive kinda reminds me of Goering 20's where prohibition ghosts will walk up and talk to you. It was so dang fun and you can tell performers are loving all the attention!!🤣🤩
Slight correction….the Carousel is actually in a bit of a different location than where it used to be. It used to be somewhat off center in front of the former Fiesta Dogs building. The last time the land was remodeled, most rides in that area were torn out to build new ones and the Carousel was moved to where it is now. Another interesting fact about the area, is that long ago the Stagecoach made a loop around and through the middle of Fiesta Village. The path that leads from the railroad tracks to almost Montezooma’s used to be stagecoach trail. And you went under an underpass to get to that back part of Fiesta Village. Then the Airfield came and the connection to Fiesta Village. The poor stagecoach could only go to the La Palma gate and make a u-turn right back for awhile. But when Camp Snoopy was built, it’s route was once again extended, only bigger than ever before.
Teacups is actually one of the first "teacups" style rides. Yes, when DL put it in, it was actually a brand new ride system. There is a way to make teacups less dizzying: You steer opposite of the natural rotation (this is actually an workout). I'm Kitra on all those spinners (I can't handle them at all!)
