    I’ve figured out your issue with the Front Pads Nerb. Ferodo FDB2018 and EBC FA181 recommend a pad width of 94mm and thickness of 7.5mm for the T7. Bendix’s listing is incorrect as the MDB0643 is 94mm x 9mm giving you 3mm too much pad. These are a pretty common Brembo pad and fit a bunch of different Euro bikes. Mainly KTM’s which may accommodate the thicker pad. Unfortunately the particular caliper used on the T7 does not.

      Wow, interesting. It was definitely 9mm because I measured it incase it was thicker than what the packed said. So I should make sure i only get 7.5mm thick pads from now on. I usually buy metal gear 30-048-S2... just looked them up and they are 7.5mm. So thats why I havnt had an issue before. Good find Dave

    Gotta luv the screen clutter. Maybe an attention detractor, it would explain some of the Drivering out there.
    The good, bad and ugly of modern technology.
    I did enjoy your video Nerb! 👍

    I’ve seen a lot of pads that are just too thick. Weird how they do that.

      Hey, we definitely slow down locally over winter unless we can head a long way north

    You can turn off some of that info. Waze is really designed portrait mode to give you a better view ahead. Landscape makes it hard to see. Not great for your Nav device. Also when you navigate to a location, you get a better view of streets, I mostly use it in the city to show speed cameras and Police ahead.

    I was surprised to see videos on how to use Waze. There are a lot of settings apparently. I was under the impression Waze used data from transport agencies where there was scheduled detours. I think Google must have bought Waze for the vehicle intracommunication trials. I remember listening to the radio going to work where'd announce accident sites and road congestion.

    I’ve been giving Osmand app a go and it’s not too bad. Not the easiest to use. Was using Gaia put the price is just crazy now!

      Yeah. That vid was recorded back in August. I am considering just buying OSMAND, because it was good.

    Are you sure the pistons were fully compressed? Perhaps use a g-clamp and also pop the lid off the brake reservoir

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  День тому +3

      I took the reservoir lid off as I had to remove fluid from it when i pushed the pistons back. A g-clamp wont make them go back further than the body. They were flush with the body.
      As I said, this is my 5th or 6th set of pads on this bike and this is the first set that didnt fit.

    With Waze there is a way to declutter all that crap and all the notifications. It's buried but it's there. I find Waze is better for crowd sourced data like where cops and speed traps are or finding detours when there is heavy traffic for daily commutes. It usually beats google by a few minutes most of the time. Google is much cleaner and looks better overall. It's better for when you are going somewhere new and aren't familiar with the route you're on. Off-road, Gaia is undisputedly the king, too bad they got greedy with a price hike this year. I paid it, but I'm actively looking for an alternative now.

    Sometimes those cheep pads are not very spec made. Mods are needed

    Genuine parts for me, always 😂 but hey ho.
    Now the fronts you said the pistons are the only part that move, now I know you’re a cleaver cookie so saying “but Nerb, it’s a floating caliper” is probably telling you nothing new but perhaps you’ve got a sticky slider that’s stopping the full range of movement.

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  День тому +2

      When im showing the body, you can see the slot at the far end. That slot is where the disc sits and it is on a floating body. That part moves, but the pistons push against a solid part.

    • @streddaz
      @streddaz 23 години тому

      The sliding caliper only aligns the caliper to the disk. The pistons set the travel. There was definitely nothing else Nerb could do in this situation.

  • @itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449

    Probably should of cleaned the pistons prior to pushing in .

      I did. Well, I just sprayed them with brake cleaner and wiped them off. No scrubbing.

    For F sake, you have to put the pads in the freezer overnight first. Cheers from Beaver Valley Ont
