- One of the first things we noticed as we walked around the lush garden of Cocoa House was aerial cables strung between tall, sturdy trees which were fitted with small platforms with just standing space for a few adults. We were told that this was the first zipline in Tawau!
In part 3 of our Teck Guan Cocoa Village exploration, we take you on a flying adventure, complete with tips on how to apply brakes to your flight and prevent your body from swinging from side to side in mid-air. You’ll also get to try rappelling or abseiling because what goes up must come down! It may not seem like the kind of outing for the faint-hearted but rest assured, the instructors are patient and friendly. Safety precautions are also observed, and the crew provides all the harnesses and protective gear that you’ll need.
Ziplines or ropeways, also known as flying fox, began as a mode of transportation but are now used for adrenaline-rush recreation as well as confidence-building activities.
