I'm pretty sure suits is on Netflix if u have Netflix..😊
I love how it goes from cleaning lady to my client. Like "oh you really want to start some shit? well guess what, I'm representing her now"
The client he was talking about was Harvey and his firm as the douche owned the building. Harvey eventually does fight for her rights, but it was threatening the law firm that was referenced.

Executives hate paying people properly for their work. It means they aren’t able to rake in those random $30k bonuses for existing.

Treat the janitor with the same level of respect as the CEO and you’ll be respected everywhere you go
there is no respect for any position of high power because of years of corruption
True 😊
What are you talking about? I'd never punch a janitor in the face
Sorry I don't want to spit in a cleaning ladys face so I'll have to pass on that
Nah fuck the CEO. Janitor is more worthy of respect than they will ever be.
Harvey was such a great and complex character in suits. The fact that he was unpredictable, arrogant and cocky but still had a good heart made him such a layered character
So well described I love his cockiness jaja
Yeah every single scene starts out with him addressing whatever problem he has or wants to solve, then the other person disagrees and doubles down. Harvey then threatens them and says the same thing but in different ways. So layered lmao
It's a perfect representation of why Lawyers have the reputation they do while also showing why people would want to be lawyers despite that. Clearly that guy is gonna have the opinion a lawyer is a snake in the grass. But to the client and to Harvey's own perception of himself he's the hero. He 100% is cocky and arrogant, but it's for the right reasons and to people who deserve it. You have to be fairly self-indulgent yet aware of reality to even pull that off.
The best lawyers are sympathetic and care for your well being, all the while being cocky and don’t give a shit about anyone else.
You could say he's a "lawyered" character

not really a good guy. I don't remember the season but in one episode he just crushed a protest of hundreds of nurses who were rightfully demanding overtime pay. 1 good deed does not pay for the sins of a life time. he has shown time and time again that he will go down as low as possible until it serves his bottom line, i.e., winning the case.
Mike helped him developed in to that. The old Harvey probably wouldn’t have.

P
Capitalism is wonderful… but without morality, it can be as dirty as anything.
What’s ironic is the sort of people who make shows like this are the main source of power and greed. They brainwash people into caring about the wrong things and blaming the wrong people for their problems. If anyone tries to criticize them they’ll hide behind this product they’ve created as if the stories in it are real, but telling a story about someone doing the right thing isn’t the same as actually doing the right thing in real life. In their case it’s just a way to make money and to slip subliminal programming into the audiences’ minds
That is why there are Unions.

Every hard working person deserves respect, doesn’t matter their profession. Your work is no less important than a doctors because we need them both.

To some extent, some part of Mike rubbed off on Harvey too, but do we realise that Harvey had never been without a heart?
He was only not letting that (and empathy) get over or in between his work. Moreover, he suppressed his soft emotions and barely showed them, unless it did really matter and did really move him.
Once, Jessica proved this at a deposition of Harvey - not that he never cared, he only hid his emotions because he saw it as a sign of weakness. Yet deep within him, his good heart propelled him forth in his dealings, and you'll only notice this if u look closely at his results - esp. with instances like this very scene and the other where he called off his meetings to defend his driver who run into someone's car.
The situation with Mike was rather different. His empathy and all, good as it was, were not guarded, and you'd find him on a normal day throwing himself about (showing affection) just because something got hold of his soft spot lol. That too could be used against him, you know.
But for Harvey's interventions, this part of him would have been preyed on by some ruthless persons.

I love honest good men that do the right thing. This needs to be spread as an example.
It gets real when he goes from calling you "the woman in the building" to "my client"
What's interesting is you don't have to be angry to be assertive. The lawyer is assertive, calm, and firm and ensures to listen to the opposing view. The lawyers gives him several chances before he gives him the final warning.
That's not really how it works in real life tho'...
... you see, it's the people who don't know how the game works and how to exploit it to their advantage that get frustrated which eventually escalates into anger.
Only the people who know the game in and out, can be assertive, calm and firm and smile to your face because they know they've already won even before the battle has begun. \o/

The more an employer tells you that you don't need to join a union, the more you definitely DO need to join a union.
Unions cause more problems than they do good. Screw the union, they try to tell you how to run your business. I didn't let them in mine. I let them know I don't have a problem closing down, then no one gets an income. It's funny, I'm still in business.
Yup. And it is ILLEGAL for them to try and dissuade employees from being a part of one...Dollar General has a whole section of manager/employee training about the horrors of what unions do to people. Can we say, CLASS ACTION PLEASE?
@@williamwilkins3046 well, you must a business that is paying your people properly, and respecting rights, and all the above... That is rare. Also, you are right, unions have become just as corrupted as corporations IMO. So, then we must rely upon government agencies, THEN civil remedy to address very important labor, wage, classification, discrimination, harassment, safety, injuries, and the entire list of protections and laws violations. Having served 5 years in the Army, I am trained and disciplined in strict accountability, which is almost a curse because every civilian job I've had since, had all consistently ignored all those protections and laws and violated rights, to the point that I thought I must be wrong or that there were other explanations. No, sadly, the fact is, those protections are deliberately ignored and violated everywhere - for now. But, with lawyers like the one in this clip, like the one I wish to become (I'm sure many attorneys start out with a similar daydream), then hopefully, there would be more compliance. Unfortunately, corporations throw quick settlements at many complaints and they go away. Many times, there is a specific fund set aside for settlements for those who are courageous enough to complain. This practice to pay settlements is often less of a loss, than it would be for them to comply with the law. So, class actions are so important, as corporations take major blows from those. But, those are rare and expensive. Ultimately, I am glad that the United States provides remedy through private litigation and is THE country with discrimination protections, etc., For which I am humbly thankful.

Just because you have the title manager doesn't mean you don't get overtime. What this guy is doing to that maid is literally a crime.
From what I've read about this before there are laws that state managers aren't paid overtime. She was probably hired at x an hour but is actually paid salary and therefore isn't entitled to overtime. She doesn't necessarily have to work overtime but the labor laws are in the favor of the employer not employees so they can fire her for pretty much anything if she doesn't
Wrong do your research, by giving them a title it allows them to not pay overtime. Titles come with salary most the time and salary does not have overtime.
According to the Fair Labor Standards Act aka FLSA (a Federal law applicable in all 50 states and US territories), to truly be a salaried employee you must meet certain conditions. Just slapping a title on someone and paying them a "salary" doesn't excuse you from the law. It is probably the most common law violated by employers, mostly because employees aren't aware of their rights under the FLSA.
@AliKatKen72288 anyone can be on salary anyone at all. Business's use titles for an excuse to pay employees salary.
@@NHiker84If I were any of you, I'd look into Exempt versus Non-Exempt employment. Only Exempt Employees, salaried or not, are considered ineligible for overtime. Every Non-Exempt Employee is eligible, regardless of the work they do or the title they hold. Employers bank on you not knowing your rights, and plenty take a step further by labeling your job as Exempt even when they shouldn't. Know your rights, get paid what you're worth 👍
