Definitely some of your BEST footage, Jon. Hat's off! Sooo many great moments, but the First cast trout was definitely an ACE brookie stream predator!! Big head, and really dark coloration! Gorgeous! Thanks for all your efforts.
I think I was fishing this river that same day. Caught my PB that day, 12.5”! I got back to my car at the right time, it started thundering and lightning and branches and stuff were falling in front of me as I was driving out! Crazy awesome day! That is my favorite native stream! So beautiful in there!
For me, one of your best vids ever. Beautiful fish- exotic for us Europeans- and glorious scenery, not to mention your technical expertise both as a fisherman and video producer. Many thanks, Jon, and greetings from across the pond.
I am in Colorado, mostly fish small streams. Less crowds. I love your video. I wasn't being a smart ----- about the net storage. I am now wet wading and always trying to find another way to carry my net. I wish you the best.
Fantastic Video ! The conditions were perfect for filming those spots ... heck even the fish joined in ! Those were some purdy Brookies ! Thank you again for another quality video and for all of your time and effort ! Very much appreciated. 👍😊
Love your channel! I’m currently in Michigan fishing some creeks I haven’t been in over 20 years. When I caught that first wild trout it was like catching my first fish all over again!
You have some of the best edits I've ever seen! You are one of the most entertaining people to watch and I've learned so much from your creek fishing videos. I usually have only fished rivers and lakes but now I really want to try creek fishing! Keep up the great work!!
This is probably the best WV native brookie video I’ve ever seen. My son and I have only hit this stream once, but it’s time to go again. Awesome video!
That was a fun video to watch, we got a heat wave in Washington and the fish are taking cover right now. Crazy how you can get those shots, I’ve tried before and it’s so much more work than you would think.
Great channel and awesome fishing!!! coming down from Vermont in May going to the town of Matewan wondering if you have any suggestions on places to fly fish around that area? great filming also.
Discovered this place years ago and it’s indescribable beauty. Thanks for not revealing, as it’s getting loved to death. Have you done a video from its “bigger sister “ on the opposite side of the valley?
Bro thats is awsome footage i want to set the hook just watching it. By the way u guys have really inspired me to streamer fish. It caught me some huge rainbows. let me know when ur in colorado😃
Ok. My name is Isaac. I am on my fiance Tara's account, but I am OBSESSED with your brown trout game. It's what turned me back on to fly fishing and what made me go spend the money on a risen 3/4 weight 7 foot 3 piece. I love it. Not the best for the tiny streams around here. But it works. Love my rod. Love my reel. Love the thrill of being back on a fly rod and experiencing new places. With that being said. I KNOW YOUR LOVE FOR BROOKIES IS STROOOONG!!! Have you ever considered coming up to Wisconsin? There are places with 20 plus inch brook trout here. North Wisconsin is beautiful and and is still loaded with fish if you love adventuring. The brule towards superior is supposed to be amazing. There are huge lake brooks here as well. Just a thought of you ever do make it this way,,, PLEASEEEE take me with you!!! Lol. And ps. I used to keep most of my trout to eat. Now if I have like 1 or 2 in the fridge I can't fathom taking more out of a river. I have got so much better at catch and release and conserving the home of the fish and themselves better. Thanks for the positive influence and all you and Andrew do to keep this passion alive. Keep it up boysss!!
My guess is that the fish at 6:36 was so unsure about your fly that it tried to drown it first, to see what would happen. Great takes, great footage! Keep the content coming, please!
That could be!! It was a weird one. Also at that point I was pretty far from any trails so it's hard for me to believe that the fish sees too many flies
If this is the stream I’m thinking it is I think I was there that day. Caught a 12.5” that day! I got back to my car at the right time too. It started thundering and stuff as soon as I hit the car. Branches and stuff were falling in front of me as I was driving out, it was crazy!
I have not been to your area, but would love to visit some day, but I'm afraid time is probably against me. But hey, you never know. Great video as usual and loved seeing my favorite trout (the brookie) swimming about in a rather strange yet beautiful colored water. I've said this before, but I get so much peace from just listening to a mountain stream. I assume most of your streams originate higher up from a spring? Are there many lakes where streams flow into and out giving you even more opportunity for great year around trout fishing?
Yep most of the streams are either spring fed or originate in high enough elevation to stay cool year round. But no I don't have many lakes in my region
@@hardmanfishing Thanks for your reply. I just realized I used the word "but" wayyyy too many times. But I'm getting old(er), but that is no excuse. No reply needed, but..............................................
Lmk when your in east Colorado I have a bunch of high alpine cutthroat trout lakes that hold nice fish and some spots for some aggressive brown trout on bait finesse on micro Gan Craft Swimbait
Wow, that clip of the brook trout taking the fly off the surface, sweet.
One of my favorite clips I've ever gotten! Seems like those shots don't line up for me. Glad you enjoyed
@@hardmanfishing Dude. I want to get into fly fishing. It seems super fun.
Agreed. Best brook trout sip footage I’ve ever seen. Wow.
Thank you so much!
Definitely some of your BEST footage, Jon. Hat's off! Sooo many great moments, but the First cast trout was definitely an ACE brookie stream predator!! Big head, and really dark coloration! Gorgeous! Thanks for all your efforts.
Thank you!! I love it when the trout cooperate
Wow, that's awesome footage catching trout see all action 🎬!! Fish On!!! Awesome catches
AWESOME. I love watching brook trout do these type of things. Makes me want to leave and grab my fly rod..
Fantastic cinematography. Excellent Lesson. Excellent spot. Exclellent basket of food for a guy like me.

Be proud, your Nailing it!!!!! I love our Tennessee Brookies.

Really love the slowmo footage. Incredible look at how they act and behave naturally!
Excellent! Beautiful location, gorgeous fish. Nice job!

Wow 😂❤I am in love with the intro how the fish came and engulfed the bait😂❤
wow!! that first dry fly take was incredible to watch!
I hope that your safe and not affected by the floods, Pete from Australia.
For me, one of your best vids ever. Beautiful fish- exotic for us Europeans- and glorious scenery, not to mention your technical expertise both as a fisherman and video producer. Many thanks, Jon, and greetings from across the pond.

Nice job filming this.
Really great camera work!
Thank you!

I have but only on the upper end of the creek. I want to go back and access from the bottom here soon.
What strain are these brook trout looks like a heritage from some of them
I believe they are heritage, or should be. Not saying they've never interbred with some random stocked trout. But generally they're somewhat untouched
Bro thats is awsome footage i want to set the hook just watching it. By the way u guys have really inspired me to streamer fish. It caught me some huge rainbows. let me know when ur in colorado😃

What kind of camera do you use? That’s amazing footage
Coolest channel

Dope
If you havent already I recomend fly fishing the tounge river in ranchester, WY
What weight do you use on small streams
3 wt usually, most of the time it's shorter (7'6" or 8'4")
I have a 5/6 wt 9ft. Looking for a budget friendly combo
