I have to chuckle when I recall my husband's stint as a trucker just after WWII. He had just begun and didn't know how to back so when he got to his destination he pretended he was in dire need of a restroom and asked a nearby trucker to back in for him. That ploy saved the day. After that he practiced until he could back well.
@@area51junkyard I'm sure that occurs but it doesn't take away from the skill John brings to the job....and that's why I said "maybe" they'd get it right after 20+ years. Right?...
Just because someone has 20 yrs experience ..dosen't necessary equate to being good at there job...although it should.. and also bringing that to a new company doesn't always equate to more money starting out...somehow I think companies want rookies to bring down the wages and get them to fuel the truck for free..unpaid wating time..traffic tie ups..breakdowns..load a not ready.. ect..ect..that's why I dont truck anymore..BTW..terrible hand signals for backing that driver up..confusion..

Or, you could whack another truck's tire. On second thought, maybe that final suggestion is not a good one. "The coffee in the Army they say is mighty fine. These drivers are supposed to be professional drivers, I wouldn't even think about giving them hand directions. They have an accident they may try to blame you for their dumb actions.
More truck drivers should help each other out. I always tell my son to help others in need and to ask for help if needed it makes a better world .
