I've been super interested in the Wise Traditions diet, spending lots of time reading about it and listening to their podcast, and just became a member. However, would you recommend starting out with the GAPS diet first? And then moving into the Wise Traditions diet. Just to give you some background...We have 2 children, but have been trying to have more. I have been suffering with secondary infertility/repeat miscarriages.
Great question! I'm sorry about the miscarriages ❤️ It depends on how comfortable you are with cooking, sourcing real food, etc. If you're already cooking from scratch and sourcing high quality food, you can probably start in with GAPS, and once enough healing has happened, transition off of GAPS onto Wise Traditions. If starting with GAPS seems overwhelming, it can be helpful to start with Wise Traditions first, and then go to GAPS when you feel confident.
Hi! Love your videos! Do you think, once through gaps intro and doing full gaps, Kolona Cream is ok? I do like coffee with cream and I can’t buy raw Cream in my state.
For about 15 years I have not tolerated any dairy well (conventional, pasteurized). I'm trying to acclimate myself to raw milk, and started drinking 1 tablespoon per day. Today is day 3, and earlier I had tummy distress, pain, nausa, loose stool. What can I do?
I live in Canada and cannot legally get raw milk. What I do is only consume it as kefir. I ferment it with the kefir grains. I know it would be better if I did this with raw milk, but I am assuming this is still a better option. Is that right?
Yes! Dr. Natasha says that if you cannot get raw milk, find the best pasteurized milk that you can (grass fed, organic, not ultra pasteurized, not homogenized) and culture that. Hope this helps!
this is very helpful!! thank you. I'd like to know more about soaking grains... all grains? what if i'm in a pinch and need to make dinner? Also, what about oat milk? Bonus: would love to hear your thoughts on veganism.
Great questions! Yes, she recommends soaking all grains, since they all have anti nutrients. It takes some time to get the hang of it, but soon you'll start soaking things you'll need the next day and it will be more of a habit. In the meantime, just change what you can and don't stress. I don't believe Sally Fallon recommends oat milk, especially the store bought kind, as it is highly processed. Veganism is actually a cleanse. Plants cleans, and animal foods build. Cleansing is good for a time. But in order to stay healthy or especially to heal, we need lots of animal foods longterm. Hope that helps!
It was one of the first episodes, so I had to dig back to try and find it, but I'm pretty sure this is the one! www.westonaprice.org/podcast/9-overview-of-wapfs-principles/
I think it can be a fairly good choice, if it's the only grass fed butter you have access to. It's not organic and the cows might eat some GMO feed. I like to get organic grass fed butter from Azure Standard: www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/dairy/butter/cultured/unsalted/graziers-vat-cultured-european-style-butter-unsalted-grass-fed/18710?package=DP230&a_aid=bH7Rv4Dgy2
Thanks 🧡 I wonder what if butter causes acne and nasal congestion? This happens to many people regardless of the quality of the butter. I like it but I can't eat it like the organic cow yogurt
Have you tried goats milk butter? It doesn't suit everyone but it can be a good substitute for cows milk products, which I can't tolerate no matter how fermented they are. I don't know where you are but here in the UK, it is easier to source raw goats than cows milk too. I agree with @bumblebee apothecary that it is probably a gut health issue, it certainly is for me. In the meantime goats provide all the cheese and butter I would otherwise have to miss out on.
What is wrong with pasteurized milk? And whatever happened to our gut and tummy and digestion. Back in 92 no one would be wanting nor plant milk nor raw milk . Anyone having a hard time digesting average store bought cow s milk would have been a minority. Now it feels like I AM THE ABNORMAL ONE since i can digest any cows sheep goat milk and cheese just fine, never seems to have nor tummy ache nor "too much bowel action ( + cramps)" from anything but very fatty sauces or creams or some serious dishes in a restaurant that was too heavy & rich to process ...
timely video! I just received my Nourishing Traditions book in the mail yesterday!
love your little helpers, such cuties
Great tips! I love their podcasts, lots to learn 💜
I love the wise traditions podcast. And the weston A. Price foundation

I am in Canada, can't get raw milk. 👎👎 I wish! soooo much.
Great tips! Thank you 😊
Sorry to hear that :( Hope that changes someday!
Is there a difference between Nourishing Traditions and Wise Traditions?
Great question! They are the same, just different names :)
Wise Traditions is the name of the quarterly journal that the Weston A Price Foundation publishes.
Great video
Please talk about your kids routine
How they spend there day
And there activity
Thanks for the idea! I'll do that :)
Hi! Love your videos! Do you think, once through gaps intro and doing full gaps, Kolona Cream is ok? I do like coffee with cream and I can’t buy raw Cream in my state.
Thanks! Dr. Natasha recommends cultured dairy on GAPS. I get the Kalona cream and culture it with kefir culture :)
So perfect!!! Last question: How long do I leave the grains in? I’m guessing 24 hours in a warm space like my kefir?
Thanks for your knowledge!
@@kkpkkprr she recommends you culture the cream with the kefir itself, not the grains. 💕
Great video! Thank you 🙂
What is the brand of the store bought cream?
Kalona SuperNatural :)

Great question! I would follow Dr. Natasha's dairy introduction protocol: www.gapsdiet.com/dairy-introduction-structure/
Not just cow milk but goat milk is awesome! Raw of course!
:)

Is it possible to follow this lifestyle even if we cant afford organic grassfed and can only afford conventional???
Yes! Dr. Natasha covers this in her books

It has to be a gut health issue. With some healing, dairy intolerances can be reversed 🧡

An interim way to consume butter may be to convert it to ghee, to see if it is the casein that the body is reacting to.
The hell sprouts has raw milk!?
No, the Kalona Super Natural cream is small vat, lower temp pasteurized :) I get that when I can't get raw cream, and culture it with kefir culture.
