@@bumblebeeapothecary hello thank you so much for sharing so a lot useful information.❤ Could you please write what food processor you use in video? Thank you
You remind me of my friend. She always had a baby on her hip while she works throughout her day. She had 6 little ones. They are grown now and she didn’t know what to do. She loves the little ones so much. Grandchildren are starting to come now 😂 Thank you for all your hard work and teaching us. You are truly blessed.
Your children's calm deminer is a testament to how beautifully you are raising them. I dearly enjoyed seeing them help you in the video. I make a combination of nuts and also add dehydrated cranberries and some green powder to give it more of a rounded nutrient boost.
I never thought to ferment nuts before! I like to sprout them but I’ll have to try this next time. After about 4 months on gaps I can finally have almonds without pain! So excited!
Add orange oil, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia or monk sugar. The kids will devour it like candy! Also know that the 170 temp will destroy the probiotic of the kefir. An air fryer that sets to 105 makes a great dehydrator! Its faster and can hold a lot if it’s stirred every once in a while. Great video Marisa!
6:40 Do NOT let your kids stick their hands into the food processor like this little guy did a few times, the knife is super sharp and an accident can easily happen. Actually a woman I know had a little mishap with her food processor knife and ended out with 7 stitches (and the forever scar) to remind her forever to be careful with food processor knives!!! 🤗❤❤❤
Thank you SO much, this is exactly what I was looking for! I had fermented cashews for the first time and was in love, but they’re so expensive, so I’d love to do it myself. So THANK YOU!
Such a simple great recipe!! Can I use kefir instead of whey to ferment the nuts? I want to make keto sourdough bread. Will fermented walnuts give the bread more of a sourdough flavour? Like fermented wheat flour does. Cheers Julian 😊
I got so excited finding this, but got so disappointed when you added whey, because that is something I cannot get. And also, I’m plant based, so it’s also something I’d like to avoid. BUT, I do have some probiotics which usually is my go-to when I make my homemade coconut milk yoghurt. Could I add one or two of those capsules (the inside of, of course, not whole capsules)??? Do you think that would work? PS! I am planning on making a chocolate spread with the almonds. A nut butter is the start, then you add cacao (I may use carob instead, just because I love that milder chocolate flavor), sweetener (honey or whatever you like, I guess)… Sounds sooo good!!! Thanks a lot!!! 🤗❤❤❤
Thank you so much. I tried to ferment nuts and make almond butter based on the info in the Gaps book which didn't give enough info. I'm going to try it again now that you've taught me how
The life of a mother, even when you working you can't get away from the kids. That was the best part of the video. Love that they enjoying what you made
The most common way of getting whey is by straining curdled milk or yogurt with a cheese cloth, so yes, yogurt with less water should work. If you make your own greek yogurt, this will be a great way to repurpose the isolated whey for fermenting the almonds.
@@HVTILLVIB sorry I'm french, and I just want to be certain I do understand what whey is : is it coming from making cheese or ygur , the liquid thats separates from solid part of cheese or yogur, please ?
@emilieuribe9893 Both. When making cheese or yogurt, you are involved in the process of curdling, which turns a milk protein called casein into a concentrated solid. The process usually separates this solid from the liquid that contains most of the other nutrients-this liquid is called whey. The result is the same for both yogurt and cheese. For yogurt, you typically use bacteria cultures to denature the milk; for cheese, you use enzymes or an acid to separate the protein.
Great idea to sprout the nuts first! Thank you for sharing your recipes! Love your channel and your kids are adorable! Many blessings to you and your family!
fermenting is supposed to remove 95 % of all anti-nutrients, by far the most effective method. raw apple cider vinegar, water kefir (vegan), kvass, sauerkraut juice, vegan joghurt, anything that has living cultures in it. Bye the way its a beautiful video, but I never heard of fermentation processes below 3 days, so rather try 3-7 days in a fermentation glass that you open for 5 seconds every day, and try them after a few days, the longer the better. You could go months on some types of fermentation and it only gets better.
What can you use to ferment nuts if you do not have whey? I just adore your family. Thank you for all you do to help people better their health and nutrition.
I'm not totally sure but, when you scoop up yogurt if you look the next time you will see the watery liquid in the space. That is whey. Just drain into a container instead of stiring it back in. Sour cream does it too.
What do fermented almonds TASTE like? You know how sometimes when snacking on raw almonds you get one that tastes really good and different from the normal taste--maybe it's also softer and chewier--like that?
Thankfully just came across your channel, i have a lot if catching up to do! Lol. Can this nut butter be made shelf stable? Im hoping to make walnut butter too. Is the same process used with walnuts? Thank you for answering.....😊
Hi! Have you ever skipped the drying step for making nut butter? Just wondering if the soaked nuts would blend well because they are already soft. I imagine then you would need to eat the nut butter more quickly to avoid mold. I have my almonds soaked and ready for the next step! Just wondering if you have tried it that way. Thanks!
Can I ferment ground almonds? I buy them already ground, then I soak in salt and water, then strain (with cheese clothe) then I use for baking. It's a lot of work to strain the ground up nuts. But I want to try fermenting next.
I already soaked, dried and ground almonds into a butter consistency. Can I still ferment them or is it too late? If so, how do I ferment them at this point? Thank you! (Next time, I'll ferment first!)
So you have to stay home for twelve hours while they dehydrate? You can't leave the house with the oven on and you can't sleep with it on either. Isn't there a faster way?
I’ve been adding maple syrup to my nut butter Just for flavor but I noticed that it makes the nut butter thick… how can I avoid this and would honey have the same affect

Lemon or vinegar, just a salt also works. Whey can be the liquid on the top of your container of yogurt.
Lemon, vinegar, and salt won't ferment nut like whey will, but they will help with soaking :)
