50 years of video game revenue

Do you remember space invaders? Well, now you can play it on your iPhone. Video game industry is a great example disruptive tech, which has been with us for fifty years.
What you fondly remember playing? For me it's Frogger, Space Invaders, Sonic, Street Fighter, Quake, GTA, Snakes, Angry Birds and GTA IV.

There were gameboys in 1996. But i thought that was handheld. But mobile also bought ring tones and other similar stuff probably padding the numbers? You could also buy internet access. I remember trying that once or twice in middle school.

I don't remember Snakes in 1996, but I do remember playing it in 1998 when I first got a Nokia phone.

I wasn't around back then so I wouldn't know but mobile gaming has been around since cellphones first started having displays. Nokia put one on theirs in the late 90s. The trend didn't take off until the IPhone, though.

Mobile is 100+ billion? Thays interesting. Age demographcis there? I wonder if its all kids?

That would be an interesting breakdown, but I think it would be difficult to do because this revenue data would have been based on company filings.
