When Norwich named itself a fine city Ipswich responded with "Ipswich, a nice town". Sums it up really. Signs at either end of the A140 back in the 70's. Interesting video, thank you.
Thank you for another beautiful video. It's an amazing building, built by the same bishop who 'built' Norwich Cathedral. Lazar is a corrupt of Lazarus, the man brought back to life by Jesus. It was to give the lepers hope of their resurrection.
Thanks for watching the video Michelle and for the contribution. It was a real privilege to look around this historic building. Incredible to think it has survived so long 🙂
Hi Tracey I visited on one of the Heritage Open Days and was able to see inside the building. Remarkably old structure with such history - thanks for watching the video and commenting 🙂
Interesting to hear about the history of a local building from centuries ago. There are so many old buildings in & around Norwich that I have grown up being aware of but never really ‘looking’ at them or being aware of their full history. One thing I plan to do this summer holiday (I’m a Teaching Assistant) is to take a look around at Norwich’s historical buildings.

Thanks Naomi managed to visit here during the Heritage Open Days - quite rare to get a glimpse inside 🙂
This is very interesting, I had no idea of much of that detail.
Hi John - great to hear from you - it’s well worth a trip - sometimes they do tours on the Heritage Open Days 🙂
Wow I live so close to this building. I mist go take a look
