A week off and all you can muster is "a little bit of a hangover"? I kind of expected more... Like a full week of lapsed memory and some kind of mystery to resolve. Welcome back, Francis!
I took the Saturday to recover before I went back to recording. Well not all of saturday I had a beer with breakfast, it's Spain they do that there. Then a few in the airport because it's an airport and anything goes in airports. It is crazy when you think about it name another place you can take out a sleeping bag and go for a nap and no one will stop you. Oh actually we did buy some duty free whiskey and we had to taste that when we got home. So I suppose I attempted to take Saturday off and sort of did, I mean we definitely cut back and we did not drink anything on the flight which sort of counts.
I vote for Archonexus. Not only because I feel like it'd extend the series a good bit, but also because I've never seen it done before and I couldn't be arsed to do it myself xD
Francis: and a flat screen TV because "we should really give them something else to do with their time". Because everyone needs a break from sex and murder every now and again...
Best way to stash explosives that I know of is to use a transport pod. Raiders don't detect them for stealing, and tantrums can't target the contents for smashing. Best of all, you can unload any single item with just a couple clicks. Reloading the pod is a bit annoying without the Loading in Progress mod, but it's worth it for the sheer safety involved.
You mentioned the Archonexus ending, I am currently pursuing that in my playthrough and I thought a good series for you might be a sort of "speed run" style of that playthrough. Its essentially three playthroughs but since you get to select starting equipment/personnel each time, you can get through the second and third playthroughs pretty fast. Planning out a "how fast can I get to and through that last playthrough" might make for a unique series.
Francis doesn't like to use too many mods. And when he does it's for a reason like being able to stack infinite tail caps. But a Meat Cooler for people would be good at some point.
@@guyincognito1406 You dont stack 100 corpses in one cell, have you seen the meat rack of the LWM deep storage mod? iirc it only lets you hang 6 corpses which is good considering one tile is 1x1m (I assumed it is 1m). So you would have 10-20 of these meat racks in your freezer
They might have changed it since I last did it, but the Arco Nexus ending is a bit underwhelming. You go through three colonies, and then walk up to a pyramid, roll credits. I was hoping for a mini boss or something, but alas.
FYI save our ship can be pretty brutal. I'd love to see your spin it but if you do, bear in mind it's a turn it up to 11 commitment. You'll be building massive structures to keep up with the ever increasing heat and dakka requirements.
I believe the central compound is big enough that I don't see much reason to expand it further for the time being. Instead, before expanding the central compound further, I'd consider building little huts on the outskirts of the map tile to give the colonists working outdoors along the periphery (such as hauling supplies from dead enemies, or working on the drills) some convenient places to take a quick break without having to return back to the main base, or to provide a nearby shelter in case enemies decide to drop on top of them while they're far away from the central compound.
So mini dining halls? I have considering such things in the past but never got around to using them. Though having shelter from surprise raids might be nice.
If a relic is also a weapon or armor, they are technically "legendary" and can be equipped Edit. Careful about making pawns participate in a ritual that is not of their ideoligion, they may receive an additional mood debuff paired with the whatever result of the ritual
So glad to have you back, I hope your holiday was refreshing and your liver survived! I may have been rewatching this whole damn series trying to pass the time...

Have you looked at the Compressed Raiders mod? That with the maxxed out transhumanists would lead to packs of minor gods rushing you, quite the epic end.
A thought on how to make the spreadsheet a little easier to use: Make a table, with a column and a row for each colonist (sorted in same order). Put a mark wherever you have a pair of lovers. The result should be symmetric along the diagonal. As for figuring out the arrangement: highlight any forced pairs. That (now without tongue) non-violent person is an ascetic...they could become a dedicated combat-caster, making them still valuable in a fight. And your spreadsheet had a typo - you've called Jerek "Jerk" throughout it! 😀I couldn't help giggling about it given he was one of the most amorous of the colonists.
Save our maybe without life support would be the ultimate extension of the enduring elements progression of the tile since they were parkas and cataphract helmets letting them breath comfortably in temperatures so cold nitrogen in the air liquefies.
Looks like you need transhumanist meme for any ending. It cuts age reversal to 3 days after the first usage In any case it would be handy to have 20 years old colony in 2-4 years. If permanent it's 20 years in 1 year Don't forget to stockpile human meat to become a yeti vampires!
On the subject of the ‘love puddle’, two words: graph theory. Because clearly half of an undergrad in maths is the most sensible use of time for optimising Rimworld
You could build a little pocket behind a fence at the end of each killbox as a dedicated space to skip enemies into if they get too close. Not sure how it would work with the pathfinding but they'd be far away anyways
Sos is amusing but maybe not this group Transhuman would be fun but have you not already done this? Ideology win condition ... you have already embraced this. Build a ship have all but 5 people leave and then sell your base and start over.
Hello more hopefully helpful suggestions if you extend the right hand wall at the entrance of the killbox next to the first door you should have a guaranteed skip location to send enemies back to the start of the kill box. Hopefully that made sense!
With all the drama of relationships, conflicts and other events, these series has turned, at least to me, in a soup opera . Which made very difficult to wait for the next episode. It was like waiting a chapter of One Piece for two weeks, without spoilers
"The family that loves together, slays together and dies together." My vote is for the starship mod ending or 'horde mode' ending. Ideology ending would be an idea for the next series; driving for it from the start.
I removed all the social stuff from the tables, now the only place left is the throne room. But yeah the party spot thing would have been way smarter :)
merging throne room or ritual room with dining/rec room is a good idea. as for throne and ritual room merging, that can work but adds a bit of hassle and small mood penalties. worth it in earlygame, but now that Francis already maxed out wealth, there is rly not point to doing it.
You already done a combat tile ending. The nexus would be just more ice sheet. Save our shop would be different and therefore the best. Unless unfeasible in this playthrough and then just go for the quick combat end and save the ships for it own series.
If you are looking for warg snacks you should check out the Factorial Wars mod. It will cause 2 tribes to attack each other on your tile, which often leads to a glorious mess. I had 2 groups of 200 tribals attack each other.. They will leave you alone as long as you don't antagonize them or an ally opens the door and they fight it out inside your base. Also adds a couple of events off tile.
Considering you haven't completed the archonexus event yet that would be fun to see. Especially as the new dlc is coming soonish. Be warned however, the 5 you take will have a lot of "sold my wife / husband" debuffs on arrival. Especially with your pawns relationships.
glad to see you back, hope you enjoy your vacation, also a small but somewhat pointless thing if you change your ideo color to white next reform and have them all become yetis they will get a +1 mood boost for favorite or ideo color apparel also small side note, maybe your getting all these exotic good traders because of all the "rare" thrumbo items and bodies?
jeez, the whole caravaning feels so painful once you got used to playing with helicopters and/or ships (i'm doing such a playthrough right now). while i agree that the SRTS ships can be a bit over the top with their cargo capacities and operation ranges (and their construction costs), the helicopters feel reasonable enough to play around with. having your guys on the road for weeks just for some quest isn't fun, and a helicopter does not just speeds up the process, it also adds a lot of flair to your wannabe special forces. i highly recommend you giving those mods a look, although i can't guarantee that you can just go back to "walking caravans" afterwards lol.
All the names blend together and it get's hard to tell them apart on the spreadsheet, color coding them is a great way to see at a glance who has one partner two partners three or four partners. going from Red to Yellow to Green to Purple. This makes it easy because then you know every red doesn't have a choice and needs a partner of Yellow or or higher and the Green and Purple have many options so they can be paired up last. Just a easy little trick to make it hurt your brain less and to also make it easier for viewers to see who is with few partners. Or just go with the mod where everyone piles in together, it's an ice sheet no one will blame them for a communal bed and blanket for heat sharing of course. For the ending I'd say all options sound great for different reasons although I'd recommend a storyteller change if you want to fight till the end, either Igor invader or Winston Waves make the game plenty hard with enemy reinforcements upon killed pawns making situations go from bad to worse or Winston waves that just keeps increasing the waves making the game a wave based survival, early waves are no sweat but you will stagnate while your enemies will grow ever more numerous.
Mokotan being friendly to everyone Fj :"Stop chatting to the fresh meat!!" Also Fj : "ok , We'll chop your tongue" Sometimes Fj horrifies me with his action legit
Not exactly a proud moment of mine. But if we left things the way they were Mokotan would end up friends with everyone. Then we are stuck with a pacifist as killing them would give everyone a lost friend mood negative. The other option was to kill them and eat a lost colonist mood penalty straight away. But now we can wait until they are better, accuse them and then kill them, no one will get a negative mood penalty. I like to think that Rimworlds difficulty is based more on how nice you play. The nicer you are the harder the game and the more ruthless the game the easier it is.
12:30 do ya blame him? Shows up, everyone is eating human, wearing human, sleeping in human, hats made of human laying around everywhere... I'd be getting on everyone's good side, too!

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time as when you brought up that Excel spreadsheet! That was amazing.
Looks like you need transhumanist meme for any ending.
It cuts age reversal to 3 days after the first usage
In any case it would be handy to have 20 years old colony in 2-4 years.
If permanent it's 20 years in 1 year
Don't forget to stockpile human meat to become a yeti vampires!
On the subject of the ‘love puddle’, two words: graph theory. Because clearly half of an undergrad in maths is the most sensible use of time for optimising Rimworld
I have never expected this channel to be Cracking the Relationship Sudoku.
You could build a little pocket behind a fence at the end of each killbox as a dedicated space to skip enemies into if they get too close. Not sure how it would work with the pathfinding but they'd be far away anyways
Ohh I like that idea, a place to skip two or three enemies that make it to far in.
I just Cant imagine how you will react if pawns can be pregnant XD this will be hilarious to see who is the father or mother of the child
Raiders: *spawn in*
FJ: *blinks*
Also FJ: Wow look they all vanished!
Sos is amusing but maybe not this group
Transhuman would be fun but have you not already done this?
Ideology win condition ... you have already embraced this. Build a ship have all but 5 people leave and then sell your base and start over.
Damn, "polycule" doesn't really cut it for this nested mess, it's like solving a Sudoku at this point xD
Hello more hopefully helpful suggestions if you extend the right hand wall at the entrance of the killbox next to the first door you should have a guaranteed skip location to send enemies back to the start of the kill box. Hopefully that made sense!
Didn't realize how much I was missing Rimworld in my life. Hope you had a nice holiday!
I had the same ephiphany.... maybe that says something about us...
You might want to create two separate food processing areas in the event something happens to one area, could be bad if that section gets destroyed.
what is a careful shooter doing in the colony? need an even number of colonists? simple math.
With all the drama of relationships, conflicts and other events, these series has turned, at least to me, in a soup opera .
Which made very difficult to wait for the next episode. It was like waiting a chapter of One Piece for two weeks, without spoilers
There are two types of people in the world: new recruits and hats.
Oh my god how I've missed these! We love and need your videos!!! :)
"The family that loves together, slays together and dies together." My vote is for the starship mod ending or 'horde mode' ending. Ideology ending would be an idea for the next series; driving for it from the start.
I think the storage mod includes meat hooks. Seems super appropriate for your current tile.
Fj, when you find a relic, you can also disassemble the reliquary for the gold in it.
if you put a party spot in a throne room, then all bestowing ceremonies will happen there.
I removed all the social stuff from the tables, now the only place left is the throne room. But yeah the party spot thing would have been way smarter :)
@@FrancisJohnYT plus I guess it would be decent enough idea to merge both throne and ritual room
@@Jfk2Mr Throneroom requirements: "No altars"
merging throne room or ritual room with dining/rec room is a good idea. as for throne and ritual room merging, that can work but adds a bit of hassle and small mood penalties. worth it in earlygame, but now that Francis already maxed out wealth, there is rly not point to doing it.
@@hiredgoon4269 nevermind, like you said, won't work
Hope you're ready for the new DLC update coming soon! :)
There is a numbers stat for mortar miss radius
I like the save our ships ending since you can have a follow up series based on it.
Glad you’re back fj it felt like that week was going by in slow motion
So far this is by far my favorite Rimworld playthrough.
Did you watch the Murder Munchkins and you just like these guys better? Or have you not watched them? If so, run, do not walk.
@@kerrymoore1961 I have watched every single one of francises videos on rimworld, kenshi, ONI and starsector
Every time i see Mokotan i am remembering the phrase "i have no mouth and i must scream".
Considering you haven't completed the archonexus event yet that would be fun to see. Especially as the new dlc is coming soonish.
Be warned however, the 5 you take will have a lot of "sold my wife / husband" debuffs on arrival. Especially with your pawns relationships.
Ohhh left behind colonists are considered sold!!! That could be really really messy.
glad to see you back, hope you enjoy your vacation, also a small but somewhat pointless thing if you change your ideo color to white next reform and have them all become yetis they will get a +1 mood boost for favorite or ideo color apparel
also small side note, maybe your getting all these exotic good traders because of all the "rare" thrumbo items and bodies?
jeez, the whole caravaning feels so painful once you got used to playing with helicopters and/or ships (i'm doing such a playthrough right now). while i agree that the SRTS ships can be a bit over the top with their cargo capacities and operation ranges (and their construction costs), the helicopters feel reasonable enough to play around with. having your guys on the road for weeks just for some quest isn't fun, and a helicopter does not just speeds up the process, it also adds a lot of flair to your wannabe special forces.
i highly recommend you giving those mods a look, although i can't guarantee that you can just go back to "walking caravans" afterwards lol.
Mokotan being friendly to everyone
Fj :"Stop chatting to the fresh meat!!"
Also Fj : "ok , We'll chop your tongue"
Sometimes Fj horrifies me with his action legit
I would feel that but statistically people play the opposite of how they usually are in real life
Not exactly a proud moment of mine.
Ah Rimworld. The only game where you can cut out someone's tongue, then cook it up and serve it to them.
Rather than let the rice rot, just make a short run of lavish vegetarian meals. It requires no meat, adds a nice buff, and will quickly divest you of your extra rice wealth.
