@@paradoxmartin1283 Yes but they've lost their form at the moment, they lost against Newcastle, Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham recently, they drew with Ajax as well. Spurs are now favorites for top 4. Villa would not be difficult to beat for Man City, McGinn is suspended and Ramsey and Kamara are both injured.

Whether they win or lose, with the way in which we mock their trophy drought, I don't think we're appreciating how well of a season Tottenham are having and I've been full of praise for Ange Postecoglu and he deserves it. Yes, this win against Aston Villa 4-0 a team that has exceeded expectations under Unai Emery this season was emphatic, after losing his best player in the summer, had an injury crisis and many players representing their country in the winter at either AFCON or the Asian Cup, they're in a good position to make the top 4 as they're only 2 points off of Aston Villa with a game in hand. Do you guys realize how impressive this is, I know it's another season without a trophy extending their trophy drought to 16 years, but can you guys appreciate impact and stop judging everything off of just trophies.
This is a manager who's in his first year of his project at Tottenham and he's installed his philosophy very well almost every player in the squad has improved and has brought out the best in certain individuals and you can see how he wants this team to play, even with injuries and a lot of players on international duty, they remained competitive and I'm impressed with how they finally have an identity and with what you see from them and there's some positives about this team even when they draw or lose, it's important to have a game plan a way you want your team to play and the money they've spent, it's not like they spend over 100 million for an individual, their transfer business has been wise, if you back the manager and he utilizes the resources he has at his disposal, the right results will come. I've said this a lot and I'll keep saying it, this absolutely makes a mockery out of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United showing us that spending money isn't enough. You look at a team like Chelsea, how do you win the champions league 3 years ago and now are in 11th place in the premier league and could finish 10th place or lower in back to back seasons when you've spent over a billion dollars, and also Manchester United are always in a rebuild phase despite how much money they've spent post Ferguson and even Erik ten Hag and their fans don't help the team's situation by making injuries as an excuse for their problems, when Ange Postecoglu and Tottenham have coped well with their absences, I know at the start of the season they were on fire topping the league, but even with everyone fit, I don't think they'd be in the title race alongside Liverpool Arsenal and Manchester City and a top 4 finish is a successful season for them and hopefully they don't bottle it.

I disagree with Craig Burley. If anyone recognises how far Spurs have come, it is Spurs supporters. We are the ones that sat through Conte, Mourinho, Sherwood, and Espírito Santo despite how mediocre we were under them, we still went to the games to support our team. We know what and who we have got in Ange and how valuable he is to our progress. We can see how far we gave progressed in his short time at the club.
I'm waiting for the wheels to fall off, but I will enjoy Ange while we have him. It seems as though we finally have a manager who believes in and embodies our club motto: Audere Est Facere; To dare is to do. Long may Big Ange reign.

Call me crazy but i think Spurs will take points from all 3 tittle challengers. We have seen what they do vs City all the time, at home vs Arsenal, and their record in recent years vs Liverpool at anfield is not that bad. They have sneaked in a couple of draws at Anfield and even tho they lost, let's not forget that 4-3 game. They KNOW how to score at Anfield.

As a Spurs fan im not taking for granted how good this season has been. This was supposed to be a rebuild year where Europa League was the goal. Finishing 4th would be an amazing accomplishment. However finishing 5th would be fine if it wasnt for the team we'd be losing Champions League to. If it was Man United, Newcastle, or Chelsea it would be alot easier to accept not making top 4, but Aston Villa. Spurs are a better club than them and proved it today. If Spurs lose top 4 to them it would feel like a bad season despite 5th being a solid season for our expectations.
Craig Burley should consider consulting Spurs fans instead of making assumptions. While it’s true that in any large group, there will be some who lack clarity, the majority of Tottenham fans are well-informed about their club’s current situation.
Villa played 3 at the back because most of their CMs are injured, they usually play 4-4-2 with 4 CM. 2 are playing RM and LM.

We already saw what happened when Villa tried to go toe to toe with Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: it was a highly chaotic (and entertaining) mess. Villa conceded boatloads of chances but they dodged the bullets with the help of a stellar Martinez and were very clinical and ruthless. They took advantage of Spurs' defensive personnel issues and came out on top against the odds. Considering this past game, Spurs getting some players back and the Ajax tie on both bookends Emery wanted to avoid this scenario completely, and I agree with his decision. Tottenham has been highly competitive in all of their big 6 games where their opponents try to press them but really struggled against low to mid blocks, think Wolves (H), West Ham (H), even Sheffield (H) and Palace(H) in defeat really limited them. I don't think the plan was bad, Villa limited Spurs to sparse chances in the first half. I just think Emery's players were tired and lacking sharpness, and it all came unraveled at blinkering speed.
Funny how the pundits can't present such basic point - emery thought spurs struggles with low blocks recently was a weak point. However the last 2 games they have changed strategy slightly and played with control and patience, wearing their opponents down until they break. Ange is not a one trick pony.
