Inexperienced rider far as a patient understanding goes given enough time, likely worried her composure in frt of the other riders, be my guess. Superior thinking would require herself to be thinking of the team first, the horse & herself. Rushing thru wasn't the best tactic & it showed. Hopefully honest enough to admit own fault & do better from now on. Horse's instinct is to preserve themselves, in unfamiliar conditions or unusual challenges, that is balanced by confidence in the rider...she let her horse down here, but as I say hopefully she's learned better since. Fortunately horses are patient with human misunderstanding & that's an enormous benefit to ourselves their forgiving nature. They are faithful to ourselves even when we are not necessarily to them, a very noble & great thing indeed.

Yh mainly Irish sport horses which are a cross between thoroughbreds and draught horses a few warmbloods I noticed too probably Hanoverians, beautiful and very capable animals

The horse fell because it didn't want to be hit anymore so it didn't take the time it needed to "calculate" the jump. I think thats what happening
