- So over the last few weeks, lots of people have been asking me about the area around the Centara hotel at Karon beach.
This hotel is a popular hotel amongst people visiting Phuket and the Karon beach area whether it's families or couples people just seem to love the Centara hotel.
So as I had not recently paid a visit to this area I thought id go take a look because for a long time The Centara was closed due to the pandemic which had a massive impact on the local area & businesses near to the hotel.
However, the reopening of the hotel, a few months back brought hope that the area directly adjacent to the hotel would see a much-needed dose of rejuvenation But has that actually happened?

Thank you for the update. Centara Hotel is going to be our base at the end of Jan 2023 so glad that there will also be lots to do around Karon on the easy days
Yes plenty to do and open it's just lacking tourists but that's not necessarily a bad thing depending on your point of view

Visited the living room a couple of times in the last two weeks and it was good as was Yings restaurant great food and very cheap.

Thanks so much for this video Tony. I always stay at Karon Cafe when I stay in Karon, I am so happy to see it has reopened. I cant wait to get back. Also to have some Tom Yum Goong at Craigs Living Room. The best Tom Yum in Karon.
Thank Tony, I went to that part of Karon many times, Feb 2020 was the last. Very sad to see it so quiet.

hi Tony...thanks again for saying hello....just to let you know at the moment the Centara hasn't fully opened,they've opened the 'cabanas' and the 3 tier/level accommodation at the rear of the grounds but the big main block/tower has not reopened.... probably 25/30% open at a wild guess.Still looks closed at night time to be honest pal as you will see.......Thanks again,Craig from the Living Room Guesthouse & Cafe bar

Hi tony, we just returned from the Centara Karon resort and it was me asking about the markets as the Temple market was closed on the Tuesday and Friday that week but hotel staff were telling me that they were open the week before but not enough tourists. Maybe they weren’t on that week due to Mother’s Day? I’m coming back in April and hopefully Karon will have blossomed a bit more by then.
Tony, I’ve seen that the Hilton Arcadia i Karon will cease to exist as an Hilton hotel come January 23. I know you’ve covered it in the past, an old favourite of mine but I guess it could quickly fall into bad shape after covid given the size of the complex.
I guess only time will tell as there's no word on who will take it over as yet

Hi we are planning a group booking for 36 pax in Phuket pls inform if this area is around Centara grand beach front as there are more centara properties in this area .. thanks
Centara grand is positioned more on the outside of Karon heading towards Patong northern end of karon a fair walk from the area I was filming but I think they offer there guest a shuttle bus back & forwards but I'd double check just in case

I'm guessing some give a lesser rate than others maybe
There's definitely bargains to be had at the moment with it being so quiet 👍
