Nightlife in Thailand: A video of a walk around Patak Road in Karon Beach Phuket Thailand. Patak Road is the centre of nightlife for the Thailand holiday destination of Karon in Phuket. This video shows some of the bars, restaurants, shopping, Karon Night Market & the Thai street food available in Karon Beach. Patak is a great place for bar hopping, and is the hub of Karon’s bars with a number of beer bars, gogo bars, Thai bar girls and live music bars on the one street. Karon is the second most popular tourist town in Phuket after Patong and offers a quieter holiday destination to the madness of Patong.

Phuket Thailand is a great place for eating Thai street food, with heaps of options on offer. This video shows some of the street food in Karon, where to find it and what to eat. There are all sorts of barbequed and fried foods as well as loads of soups, salads and fresh fruit available. And there’s masses of seafood in Phuket. You’ll find lots of quality Thai restaurant as well as international restaurants in Karon too.
There’s street food on many street corners in Phuket, be it in Patong, Karon, Kata or Phuket Town and at all of the markets. Thai food markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, and heaps around Phuket. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily for 4 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

The markets in Thailand are also a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. You can shop alongside the locals and learn what they buy and eat. And the markets are a great place to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at markets is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays.

Its a nice little area , not as hectic as Patong glad i stayed there. I recommend the Bar with no name as a starting point to meet ppl. Also best friends bar in Karon if u like reggae and Bob Marley. The owner is a friendly guy and you will have fun.

Came back from Thailand this morning. Stayed at Centara karon hotel. I enjoyed the fresh crab with white wine sauce noodles. At a restaurant called Capri. The country and people are beautiful. Booking my flight for next year. Definitely 😁

Yes, it is considerably quieter than Patong and quite a bit smaller. And yes, the seafood did look rather good!

went karon,didnt find much to do,our hotel was further away than we realised,stopped at the eco friendly hotel on the cliffs up the big damn hill,£10 for a feckin cheeseburger,annoyingly got food poisoning,lovely folk in the town mind,i think we would have enjoyed it more if we were in a town center hotel,a lot quieter than pattaya(thank god)went on the usual tourist trips,had a foot massage which was wonderful,wouldn't go again,not for any negative reasons,simply because we''ve been there,i think maybe koh chang or something similar next,relax and enjoy it.

Karon is what I would call a 'quaint' town...it's busy, has a lot to offer but without the hustle and bustle. And still close to larger cities. My kind of place lol...

I had a plan of sending back about 3 WHEN I'm there, early into my trip by regular courier, then wearing back one on each wrist (by wearing a suit on the plane, customs won't see my wrists as the suit sleeve covers them!!!). So, as a teacher you can see that I've done my homework in detail concerning my obsession with watches(!!!)
The only other thing would be to buy you and your family dinner, and finally get to meet you guys!! :) That would be my paradise of a vacation...

Hi Darren! Planning a trip to phuket with my family this July. Preferably we will be staying at Karon this time as we've stayed at Patong last time I visited. What is the best and cheapest mode of transportation from Karon to Patong? Considering that medium shouldn't be time barred as we will be dining at Patong quite frequently.
I always drive my car when I'm in Phuket ... that's the best and cheapest way to get around there. Maybe look at renting a car in Phuket if driving yours isn't an option :)

Hi Jinna, It's around 15 minutes by car. I've never caught a taxi in Phuket, so I can't tell you for sure, I guess it's probably around 500 baht each way. Have a great holiday!

It is about 7 minutes from Patong by car. Generally it is not so good for swimming in the monsoon season (May - October). There are lifeguards at the beach during the day, always swim between their flags and follow their instructions and you won't have a problem.

The need for vaccines depends on the areas of Thailand you are going to, generally Hepatitis A shots are recommended for most areas I believe.. I would recommend going a doctor and telling them exactly where you are going and asking what they suggest.

No, generally you'll find they're around the same price, but there's a bigger range in Patong.

Patong is much bigger than Karon and so has much more variety.
