I started playing this week when I found a jasmine acoustic in my shed and I haven’t put since and it made me want to learn. That being said I want a nice acoustic that I can be proud of. I feel like if I buy a cheaper guitar I’m gonna grow out of it fast and want to buy another one. Do you think something like the epiphone hummingbird pro would be a good choice? Not too expensive but still very nice. Any other recommendations would help a ton.
I'd go with a Seagull S6 for under $500. The have made the model the same way for last 10-15 years and they age well and you won't grow out of it. I like the Epi's but I think they have changed their factory several times and i don't know how the new one's age. Yamaha's got a few great models under $500 too.
my acoustic is an old yamaha fg-75 red label from the late 60's. sounds great and the neck has a really nice soft v but unfortunately it is in desperate need of a refret

I inherited one of those as my first guitar as it was my father's first guitar from the late 60s early 70s. Sadly lost it in a house fire.
So just dreads and jimbos?
I didn't have the chance to sample any good Southern Jumbos. Good point. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
