Great to see that the engine is almost done
When I saw the two pots of Vaseline I was so confused, then you said you need it for the pump I laugh, because I have never seen someone use it like that before. Kant wait to see the engine running in the future 👍👍👍

Cheers! Yeah haha it's a pretty crazy idea and I have to admit it wasn't my own. It was originally suggested to me by a number of people in a UK ls swaps group. It very much seems like a old-school trick to help the pump build oil pressure

I will never be brave or talented enough to rebuild an engine. Thank you for the immense effort and putting these videos together. They are very interesting. It's great to follow your journey and I'm a fan.

Loving this series. Ever since seeing Dai Yoshihara’s LS Swapped 86 on Hoonigan I loved the idea. I’m not brave or skilled enough to attempt it myself!

Yeah I know the exact video you're referring too! Dai's car is awesome and although I most definitely won't drift this I'd love to take it on a few track days to full stretch it's legs out

Presume you've replaced the VVT with 'Big Ass Lobes!' 😎

it's apparently a bit of an old school trick when building an engine that's going to sit for a while, it also helps the engine with building oil pressure on the first start.
Can't hurt to try of course :) The Vaseline will melt instantly and mix in with the run-in oil for the first start which will then be flushed out soon after
