Kenny’s whit is amazing for his age. For guys like us - Jay you are what Kenny is to you. Kenny is certainly a legend but for guys like us your Knowledge is just as priceless
I was lucky enough to have a lengthy conversation with Mr. Duttweiler about fifteen years ago about bearing clearance on boosted engines. This is a great video with two incredible engine designers. Thank you.
Kenny Duttweiler, to me along with Buddy Ingersoll, are the founding fathers of modern Horsepower, yeah many stand tall today, but may not have without the guys willing to beak the American norms
I WISH SOMEBODY WOULD GO AROUND TO ALL THE OLD TIMERS WHO ARE TUNERS AND ENGINE BUILDERS, AND DO THIS WITH THEM !! INSTEAD OF ONE CONVERSATION WE NEED A SERIES OF TALKS WITH THIS MAN !!! HES SO FULL OF KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM I THINK HE COULD DO AT LEAST 10 OF THESE 😂. I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS BUT I DEFINITELY WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM GENTLEMEN LIKE THIS !!! AND THE FACT THAT HES GOT DECADES OF EXPERIENCE WITH BOOSTED APPLICATIONS AND STUFF BESIDES OHV V8'S, MAKES HIM EVEN MORE IMPORTANT TO ME AND NEEDS TO BE HEARD !!! I LOVE MY BIG BLOCKS ETC BUT IM A GEAR HEAD SO I LOVE THE 3.8/4.3 STUFF AND IMPORTS TOO !! FROM BIG BLOCK DOMESTICS TO TURBO FLAT 4 SUBARUS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN, HELL EVEN 13B WANKELS !!!!
Truly can acknowledge my fellow men (and women) of culture when watching Jay interviewing Kenny. What a treat! The comments about turbo technology rang true for me. Used to be that 1.5:1 EBR was about as good as you could do on a turbo engine with good street response. Now you might just tickle over 1 on a snappy setup.
Thank you for blessing us with this, Jay! It's taken me well over an hour to watch this because of how many times I went back a few seconds, stopped, thought about things, reflected, etc.
Thanks, There are 4-5 men in my life that I'm going sit with and listen to them talk. We''ll post those videos up as they're completed. One of them let me take a spin in a 1913 Buick this year. It was a pretty wild drive.
I would love to hear a SERIOUS breakdown from you on Backpressure. We all know how it robs power but not everyone understands the fringe effects. ie- temps, detonation, stall, %of HP lost or gained, etc. Or the COMPOUND effects.
KD was daily driving an emissions legal supercharged 2015 Mustang GT with water/meth injection several years ago. He’s a drag racing turbo charging legend for V6 Buicks, 351 Windsor based Fords and later Chevy’s.
Another "low comp ftw".. cool interview.. I have a feeling a lot of stuff was left on the table. If anyone knows *time on load...it's him. Peak rpm, peak map..for an extended time. Just cool as. But I do disagree with the blending of the term detonation, to encompass all abnormal combustion. You need to experience a well thought out "life racing" system... If you get excited about m1, it's got nothing in the lr product.
@@RS_Garage_US true, but correct parts selection, correct compression ratio, and as a result, correct ignition timing, get you along way to getting it to live. I'm really looking forward to the progression of the land speed jz program 👌

I really appreciate what you're saying. It feels really good to be supported as we get this new company up and running. ~Jay
I love this new channel and paying homage to one of the pioneers of modern performance.

80 years old! That man doesn’t even look that old. I hope to be as energetic and youthful looking as that man when I’m his age.
In his 80's... I think he's 85 now. What I appreciated even more than his knowledge is his peace. He's just happy to do his work, that's success. ~Jay
Kenny is a legend especially with the grand nationals that were super fast. Guy was turbo’ing for decades

Turbo Buick legend.

We have a list of guys to sit down with from Kenny's era. I'll get some dates booked and get them posted up. Thanks for the feedback. ~ Jay
What a pleasure.

Good to Kenny still getting it done, I lived in Oxnard when he was in Saticoy, I used to take my Distributor for my 440 69 Superbee in 76
I live in Oxnard. Good to see a fellow 805’er here

It’s cool to see Jay look to someone the way we look at him.

KENNY is a legend!
1 of the greatest legends Kenny was my childhood hero on the TURBO GN world! 🇺🇸💪🏻
29:42 #Lifers, nailed it. What is retirement when you love what you do?
Great questions and insights from an automotive legend ❤ thanks
Great content with Kenny D
Really enjoyed this.

Thank you for excellent interview
Great clip
Awesome video thanks
Respect
Great interview, i’m only 73 and I don’t have the analytical ability that Kenny has.
How about XONA turbos?
Bet he's got some crazy stories! You should Vin wiki him! Lol
Just wish his v6 stuff wasn't so freaking EXPENSIVE!

Heat is what we're up against with time under load. If you can sustain coolant/oil and inlet temps the engine doesn't really know a timer is running.
