This brings back so many memories especially the music. I was born in 1984. My Dad was a very conservative Christian who said video games and rock music were the devil and banned me from them. It took me three years of begging my Dad and finally for Christmas under the Christmas tree there was a GameBoy with Super Mario 2 The 6 Golden Coins. To this day it was the best present I’ve ever gotten and made me feel like maybe my Dad really did love me.
This game is just too damn good and fun i love how it combines all the elements of Super Mario 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario World in one magnificent game I used to have this game back when I was a little kid when it first came out and it got stolen from me when I was in a Day Care Center, nobody fessed up the teachers told me to calm down cause i threatened all the kids i was gonna pound them to a pulp if they don't give it back and to this day im still furious about it, lol I know you're out there you bastard i want my game back!!!

Played it as a kid and never beat it. It got lost over time. Picked it up now after 2 decades and went right back to it. The castle is still a pain and I never managed to get to Wario as a kid I think. I managed this time at least and could beat him after about 40 lost lives. xD Thank god for the carrot. It helped me make it through most of the level. It is a problem that there is no checkpoint, but I beat it just now and now I am at peace. After 2 decades I finally beat Wario's sorry ass! ^^

What should the stage number be in your file save when you 100% the game? I read there are 32 stages and the furthest I was able to get the # of stages completed was 31. I got to all the 6 secret stages (the 2 in the Pumpkin Zone, 1 in the Macro Zone, 1 in the Turtle Zone, 1 in the Space Zone, and the 1 in the Tree Zone). Not sure what I'm missing if anything.

bro i was blessed when i got this as a kid but this man just stepped on my younger self i was struggling to beat it all and one day when i got all the special coins to open the door all my stuff was gone and deleted i had nothing and needed to start over so what took me like almost a month to beat this guy did it in an hour but still props on doing so

I remember in Space Zone, if you had the carrot/rabbit power up, you can kinda of like “float” off the edge of anything cliff by holding the A button. I wanna say the other power ups did it too but definitely the carrot/rabbit. Does anyone else remember discovering this?
This game has a non-linear profile in its design and gives you greater freedom of exploration. Games like Super Mario Bros World have a certain freedom but it is linear, which is not the case of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, which leaves the player free to fulfill the challenges in the order that he prefers. Not enough people remember this game. Real shame since it's one of the best 2D Mario games. The level design is by far some of the best in the series, probably the best 2D Mario has seen prior to Wonder. One thing I don't understand tho is how there's Koopas in this game without Bowser. Maybe they left his troops for Wario's. Top 10 anime betrayals amirite??

One of the best games for the original gameboy and definitely 1 of the best Mario titles. So much better than the first Mario Land game too.

This game always seemed like it was a game that should have been on a console instead of game boy. So advanced compared to other game boy games.
