So baking is more scientific you kind of need those Specific Instructions to keep things good now cooking on the other hand you can get all types of creative where that possible here shorted a little there and come up with something new but when it comes to baking is more of a method to it and the recipe is always a good way to go

      1) wait for the cake to cool
      2) be careful of how much frosting you put in
      3) thin the chocolate using a tiny bit of vegetable oil
      4) coat the cake balls in chocolate without the sticks
      5) let chocolate harden then put the stick in

Ok- so I’m not a professional baker but I do quite a lot of baking so here are a few tips I would suggest while watching ur video-
    1. Let the cake cool, the reason the mixture was goopy and wouldn’t hold its shape is because the frosting melted from the heat of the cake and therefore- it wouldn’t freeze properly in the freezer either- think of it like mixing in milk with cake and freezing it
    2. Dip the sticks in chocolate and then into the balls, then freeze to get it firm: the reason u dip the sticks in the chocolate first is so the chocolate could secure the stick into the cake and the ball wont slide down while dipping it
    3. After the pops have been in the freezer, then go ahead and dip them into the chocolate, and back into the freezer to firm them up
Hope this helps, and don’t be discouraged either!! Really good attempt, and cake pops aren’t exactly the easiest to do, even with a recipe! :)

Was gonna comment these things but you said it all perfectly! I will add though, for that quantity of cake she only needed a couple of tablespoons of frosting so about a quarter of the tub, maybe up to a third of the tub MAX but more likely a quarter of the tub only. Is also one of the reasons in addition to the frosting melting, why the mixture was so soft. Too much frosting, but great tips for next time!

I have some tips for you: 1: Let the cake cool down completely! if it's hot, its gonna melt the frosting. 2: Use as little amount of frosting you can. Add about 2 tablespoons at a time. if you need more, add more. Once you can press it and it holds its shape, then stop adding frosting. you can now roll it into balls and before you stick in the skewer, dip it into some chocolate so that it hold on to the cake better. 3: once you are done skewering, refrigerate the cake pops until they are really cold. This will help the chocolate harden fast. 4: once you melt your chocolate, mix in a little bit of melted coconut oil. this will help thin out the chocolate and it will coat the cake pops nice and evenly. add about a teaspoon - teaspoon and a half.
    Hope this helps! :)

-let the cake completely cool before mixing with frosting
-mix in a little frosting at a time until moldable consistency
-roll into balls then let them chill in fridge to set and mold for at least 2 hours
-drizzling the chocolate/bark is easier, or you can put a cake pop on a fork or spoon and use a spoon to put some on it
-I know in this video you used white bark, but if for some reason you want to color the bark, get candy melts! Almond bark will harden if you try to color it to much🙃

Hey Lisa! I’ve watched your videos for a while and love them.
I actually run a business with my boyfriend making cake pops and here are some tips I have.
    1. Definitely let the cake cool longer, until it’s not warm to the touch.
    2. I use about a third of the icing you used to start off and add more if I need more texture.
    3. I use sticks that have a bit more weight to them and aren’t as thin so the cake is held up easier.
    4. Try dipping the stick in chocolate and then placing it in the cake ball and let it cool; it will help hold it up
Hope this helps and I love your videos:)

Hey Lisa ☺️ this is my foolproof method of making cake pops and cakesicles perfectly every time! (Took me sometime to perfect the method of getting it right and I use it in my cafe cake pops and for orders ☺️)
    1. Wait till the cake is completely cooled down to room temperature
    2. Use a tablespoon of frosting at a time and mix till fully incorporated. And you will know the consistency of the cake pop mix is right when you take a lump of the mix and press it together hard in your hand… it should hold its shape. Mix should not be too moist, but also not too dry.
    3. Add any extract into the mix (tip: For chocolate cake I use coffee, vanilla or brandy extract. For Vanilla cake I use either banana, almond, rose or more vanilla extract)
    4. Refrigerate it for around 30-45 mins and check if it’s firmer.
    5. Wet your hands with cool water and roll the cake balls (gives a smoother finish and doesn’t stick to your hands)
    6. Make sure you dip around 1/4 of the stick in chocolate before skewing it into the cake balls (holds the cake ball well)
    7. When melting chocolate and a bit of coconut oil or a neutral oil for a glossier and better finish. And make sure you wait till the chocolate is cooled to room temp (no need to use oil if you’re using candy melts)
    8. Stick the cake balls into the freezer for around 20-30 mins. (Put it on some styrofoam like you did in this video)
    9. Once the cake balls are firm enough, fully dip it in melted chocolate and let the excess drip off before putting it into the styrofoam (dip in a swirly motion)
    10. Refrigerate it for around 20-30 mins and enjoy ☺️
Hope this will help you Lisa!! ❤️❤️❤️

I remember the first time I made cake pops and I literally cried when it came to the actual assembling part. I remember I decided to do it for fun one night starting at around 6 pm, and it carried out until 2 am. Even with practice, making cake pops takes a lot of time, effort, and patients. Don’t get fooled by the that cute little round thing. First off, I strongly suggest making just half of the cake box mix, because if you use the whole box you might get around 25-30 cake pops and that’s alot to work with. Also, I suggest baking the cake on a lazy day and then freezing it away for another day that week so it doesn’t seem like you spent the whole day making cake. Then, when it comes to adding the frosting, make sure the cake is completely cooled, and add the frosting by a tablespoon at a time. You honestly need very little, because if you follow the cake mix instruction, then the cake should already be moist in itself. Making the balls is very time consuming, just have some patients. Then, when it comes to chocolate time, you have to melt a lot, and I suggest pouring it in a mug that way 1. It’s easier to dip the cake in it more easily 2. When the chocolate hardens you can just throw the mug in the microwave. As for holding the cake pops up, I suggest just just plopping the cake side on the parchment paper, with the stick side facing up. It’s way easier doing it this way, and cuter when you serve it at a party or something.
I know you love it when your nieces and nephews help. Once you have the chocolate on, this is such a fun project for the kids to decorate. Just use the leftover chocolate and mix in some food coloring. You don’t need any fancy frosting bags, just add alittle of the colored melted chocolate on a piece of Saran wrap, twist it closed and add a small hole with a tooth pick at the bottom and just drizzle it on. From here throw on whatever sprinkles and ta da!
    Good luck Lisa!

    1. Definitely let the cake fool fully before adding in the frosting!
    2. The less frosting the better! Slowly add it in Help! till it’s just enough to hold together
    3. Let the dough firm up before and after rolling them (for best results)
    4. Dip the skewers in a little chocolate (dipping chocolate is best since it hardens fast) and let it freeze like that so it holds in place!
    5. Add a little coconut/vegetable oil to have a shiny finish on the cake pops but also so it’s easier to dip!

Tips: wait for the cake to cool completely before putting in frosting. Otherwise using a frosting made with a crisco or margarine is also a solution because butter melts faster(even just with body heat can melt it).
Dip the tip (slightly longer than the diameter of your cake pops) of the sticks in a little bit of melted chocolate right before putting the balls on to help keep them from slipping around when dunking them.
When dunking them if possible use a tall thin container (like a drinking glass) to dip so there’s less contact with the container to get a cleaner/smoother finish.

    What I do usually:
-let the cake cool down for a couple of hours (room temp)
Add a small amount of frosting as you go
I usually roll them up in a ball, melt chocolate and dip the stick in chocolate then put it in the cake ball. I then let them chill in fridge for about 2 hours then i melt more chocolate and coat them, just let the cake pops rest for like 5 mins so they won’t be too cold to dip in the chocolate or else it’ll cause shock with the cold and hot and start cracking as they dry.
It gets easier, I got it down by my second try. Good luck ☺️

Lol it’s okay Lisa, you’ll get it next time! It was a great attempt for not having a recipe to go off of. I made them once and from my understanding, you don’t wanna use very much frosting. Only just enough that you can form balls with the cake. For me, I added like 2 spoonfuls of frosting to a whole cake. The only other suggestion would be to let the cake cool down completely before you crumble it, so you’ll get the proper texture. Personally making them once was enough for me because they’re so time consuming, especially the first time when you’re still trying to figure everything out lmao

Hm...to make cake pops, you need to followed each steps, step by step
Step 1: Bake the cake (any flavour)
Step 2: Mush up the cake till it's clumble (use your hands)
Step 3: Add frosting to make it easier to hold it's speard shape (time to get messy and make sure to add half a cup of vanila frosting)
Step 4: Roll them up to a ball shape and put them in the frigh from 3 to 5 minutes
Step 5: Buy Chocolate Candy Melt and pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds
Step 6: Use lolipop sticks, dip them in melted chocolate and stick them on the little cake balls (Cation: Don't use florsting, otherwise it might fall into the chocolate)
Step 7: Dip the cake pops in melted chocolate and stick them on the piece of styra foam to let it harden (Pro tip: After dipping the cake pops into the chocolate, use your fingure tips to tap on the end of the lolipop sticks so the extra chocolate can drop a little bit faster)
Step 8: Decorate the cake pops in any way you like and enjoy with friends and family

I would’ve put the sticks in but lie them sideways in a baking pan, with parchment paper, sideways so they don’t fall because of the density of the cake with the frosting and I would’ve waited at least for 20-25 minutes till they where hard but not all the way frozen. You could use a flat turner to carefully pop out the cake pops from the parchment paper.

    Some tips!
-after cake is baked put it in fridge or break into pieces and put a fan over it on low and then toss the cake bits every time you can feel them cool
    - when doing the frosting only put one spoonfuls at a time and added more if needed
    - also I suggest mixing the cake and frosting with your hands in gloves if u perfer it makes it easier and let’s you know that your frosting is Mixed well!
    - when putting the cake on sticks I stead of doing it right away but the cake into balls then in a fridge for 30 minutes or more then melt some chocolate and stick the stick in the chocolate then into the cake pop the put them back in the fridge 30 minutes or less
    - also when dipping them in chocolate be very careful
Hope this helps!!! Love your videos they help me when cooking!

i think if u add less frosting to the cake next time it'll be great! also, i personally like to use a strainer upside down to hold the cake pops on the stick, and before you dip it in chocolate, dip the tip of the skewer in first, then put the skewer thru the cake pop and then dip the cake pop in, that way the chocolate hardens around the skewer and makes it more safe! hope it helps, i love your channel! 💞

At least they still look good and I bet they taste good too! Dw cake pops are harder then you think they are especially because they take time, but I do have some tips! U did the first part right but then when the cake is completely cooled you put in the frosting so it holds up better because of it’s too hot it will be too hot, then when you have your cake balls melt the chocolate and make sure you have enough chocolate, melt the chocolate and dip the cake pop sticks in the chocolate and stick it into the cake pop so they stick together better, then put it in the fridge for the chocolate to harden, after that just dip in the cake pops in the chocolate and wait for the chocolate to cool, I also recommend candy melts because the harden faster then regular chocolate and use a tall glass so it’s easier to dip and cover the whole cake pop, hope this helps/makes sense! There also some videos on UA-cam that help a lot :) hope u try again!

    1. Wait until the cake is completely cooled.
    2. Lessen the amount of frosting.
    3. Use candy melts instead of regular white chocolate.
    4. Make slightly smaller balls so it's less heavy.
    5. Dip the end of the stick in the candy melts first and THEN stick that in the cake ball so that a little bit of the chocolate is sticking out of the ball. (this part is very important to make sure it doesnt fall off and the chocolate that you dip the whole ball in has something to adhere to)
    6. Let that cool in the fridge or freezer before you start dipping the whole thing.
    6. Make sure the candy melts are completely melted and the consistency is as thin as possible before dipping the cake pops in it so that they don't drag and break.
    You got this!

Definitely used too much frosting! Add very little at a time while kneading it in, and also wait for the cake to cool completely to start! I also suggest instead of rolling them in the chocolate take a spoon and spoon the chocolate over them on a cooling rack (so the extra chocolate doesn’t pool under it) I bake at home a lot with my husband and I used to work at a pastry shop 🥰 hope the tips help next time you try making them!

i have made those kind of cake pops so many times so here are a few of my favorite tips! 😃
    1. wait until the cake is cooled COMPLETELY before putting in the frosting. (one way to speed up the cooling process is to break up the cake and then let the steam come off)
    2. use only 1/3 to 1/2 of the tub of frosting
    3. roll into balls, then put in the freezer before sticking on the sticks
    4. put a little bit of the melted chocolate on the stick and then stick it in the cake ball (let the chocolate set and let it set upside down (cake on the bottom, stick sticking up))
    5. THEN cover with melted chocolate (it works best with a thin but not tooooo thin chocolate)
    6. let set standing on a styrofoam thing to make it look best 😂
i hope next time you try this you use these tips! 😊

I just learned how to make these so i may be able to help :)
First let the cake cool down
And when you’ve done smashing the cake add ‘chocolate’ and make a sticky doughy texture
Roll them into balls and then let them freeze for 5 mins
Put the sticks and again for 5 mins
After that be light with these take a spoon full of melted chocolate and throw it onto the too don’t dip it-if yk what i’m saying
    And hope it helps :)

    Some tips:
    - make sure the cake is completely cool ( u don’t want to add any moisture otherwise the mixture will not cooperate)
    - don’t add to much icing ( depending on how much cake u are using), start off with 2-3 tbsp and if u need to add more then do so
    - once The icing and cake are mixing and uve moulded them, place them in the fridge to solidify
    - then coat in chocolate ( when melting chocolate add 1 tsp of coconut oil, helps with coating things in chocolate and a better texture) , allow the cake pops to cool once again in the fridge
Hope that helps x it’s happened to me too so don’t worry x

I'm not a pro but I'm sharing tips from my personal experience with cake pops and working in a bakery making cakesicles!
    1. 1 box of cake mix to one standard size icing jar for optimal consistency.
    2. Cool it before rolling the balls.
    3. Roll and then freeze the balls. (if they get misshapen, roll them again when they're frozen!)
    4. To ensure the cake balls stay on the stick, dip the stick in chocolate before you insert it into the cake ball. Cool in fridge/freezer and let the chocolate harden before dipping.
    5. Dipping consistency has to be more loose than the chocolate you melted in the vid. You can use candy melts, almond bark, or add a bit of oil to thin the chocolate. Definitely makes it easier to dip. (also would definitely suggest using a cup for dipping!)
    6. If the candy melts/almond bark/chocolate dip is too hot when you dip and the cake pops are frozen/cold, the chocolate coating will crack because of the temp change. Which means you'll have to dip it again.
After that, just stick in the Styrofoam til it hardens!
hope it helps. ❤️ They looked like yummy cake truffles :]

Tips for the chocolate part: instead of melting it, use ganache, ganache is essentially cream and chocolate. The recipe is incredibly simple and even the worst confectioner could make it. Heat up some confectionery cream for about 30 seconds in the microwave and then for about 5 after a good stir. Add in some chocolate (no matter how much or what type) and stir. If it's too dense, microwave that too and you have perfect chocolate ganache, that will set when you dip the cake pops into it.

I would suggest cooling the cake before crumbling and adding the frosting gradually, until you get the desired texture. Then, shape them into little balls, dip the sticks in your chocolate, stick them halfway through the balls, and freeze them for 5-10 minutes. Then you can dip and roll them in the chocolate and set them face-up in styrofoam or face-down on parchment paper to cool. Don’t worry, you’ll get better with practice!

when i made cake pops, i made the same mistakes i did. but after a couple of tries, i sort of got the hang of it.
    1. let the cake cool. if you don’t, it’s just gonna melt weirdly.
    2. put it in the fridge. if you don’t put the cake balls into the fridge, they aren’t going to really stiffen or harden making it harder to dip them.
    3. if you’re using some sort of stick to insert into the cake, make sure to dip it in chocolate or frosting and then put it into your cake balls. by doing this, they won’t drop down while you’re trying to dip them.
    4. when you’re onto the dipping step, carefully dip them in. when i just dunked them in, they broke off. so, thoroughly dipping them is the best way.
    5. if you want to add any topping on, do it while the frosting or chocolate is still liquid. it’ll make it so much easier. if you let the frosting or chocolate harden, the toppings are going to fall off.
    6. put them back into the fridge! they may seem ready, but i like to put them in to cool for a bit longer making sure that they are completely ready.

Even though I've never made cake pops but I know how to make them..
So first you crumble up your cake, add the frosting and after that's done. Melt the chocolate and you're supposed to dip the tip of the cake pop sticks and then stick them in the rolled balls
Let them sit in the freezer for a bit then roll 'em up in melted chocolate and freeze once again and you're done!
