I took Vonlane’s HOU to DAL trip from Dec 31, 2019 to Jan 4, 2020. Yep, right before COVID showed up. Very impressed with the service, and staff on duty!
Great video and I appreciate you sharing the journey. I travel to Dallas and San Antonio from Houston for work and have recently been thinking of alternate travel to stop from driving myself. This Vonlane looks perfect. I see you have a Redbus video as well that I'm going to check out. Thanks again!
I work for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), you can walk down Mockingbird Ln to Cedar Springs Rd (about 5 min) and catch the route 55 - Love Link Shuttle, it’s our bus route that runs between DAL and Love Field/Inwood Station.
Yes. Route 55 is another way. The nearest bus stop is near the intersection of Cedar Spring @ Mockingbird Lane ( goo.gl/maps/yu7w6dV9BcBVsXfL9 ). Thank you for bring this route up.
That’s why I travel with Bose headphones. Even though noise cancellation doesn’t block talking the headphones themselves have foam that mutes that and crying babies quite well.
I will be taking this round trip from Dallas to Houston this Fall, so I appreciate this video. I can see where you might consider the location in Dallas inconvenient, but I would much rather go to the Love Field area than downtown, with its traffic and narrow streets! 1.2 miles to a DART stop? When I arrive in Houston, it's just over a mile to my hotel from the bus stop. I'm in my 70s and I think I can make it! 😉
is it weird to say I like that you don't talk? there are lots of other trip report channels that babble on and on - it's nice to hear just the natural noises of what's going on around you.
High Speed rail may put an end to this. It takes too long to get fron Dal to Hou. I can see how it would be an improvement on SW Airlines if you have the time and given the condition of that air travel. But the train will be quicker over all and will not feel as crowded. We shall see soon.
They have been promising that rail for decades. It still hasn’t happened. I took this bus and it was luxurious and comfortable at a low price. Loved it. It was not crowded at all. There are only a few seats and they are oversized and comfortable.
The CEO of Greyhound is behind the 8 ball if he has not join Greyhound in this venture. Greyhound should have been leading in this kind of service to diversify the company profits.$$$$ Shame on the President of Greyhound INC.
Greyhound has been closing their downtown bus stations and doing renting space at downtown hotels or city owned bus and train intermodal facilities lately, slowly but surely. They would rather rent a lobby than own commercial property downtown doing their best to avoid property taxes.
I wish I was back, but that video was recorded on the first week of June. However, I do have plans to visit Dallas in August. And for sure, I will ride the Orange Line from Akard to BLJ Central Station.
Yes. That is one of the downside of this ride. Overall, the bus service was excellent, but it would be great if it would terminate either in downtown or uptown.
Contract deal that focuses on the business community, riders get discounted rooms. Agreed that cities need to capitalize on the opportunity here and create better intercity transit hubs near downtown. Preferably next to light rail or BRT stations.
Something is not right about the hotel destination as the only stop in Dallas. They could have just as easily stopped at the DART station and then gone on to the hotel. I 'm thinking politics. What a shame.
Yup. But for Houston, Greyhound stops at east of Houston and not Downtown Houston. The only bus that goes directly between Downtown Dallas and Downtown Houston is RedCoach.
I am taking this route soon. It is not cheaper to fly, and given how soon one has to get the airport and the distance and expense of getting from the airport to say, downtown, it is neither cheaper nor quicker.
Excellent video, no talking, and just the facts. I really love that so many bus companies are getting into luxury bus service.
You did a great job with this video. I saw everything I needed to see.
I work for the company now. This video helped me make my decision. Thanks again!
I can’t image want to go to Dallas but this is a nice bus, it looks super comfortable.

Did that dude talk the whole way? Would have driven me crazy
NO Kidding!!! Like dude STFU already!!!

@@Chris_at_Home Have those as well, they are awesome!

Great Video Man! Have a wonderful Weekend! I‘m still in Berlin! Guten Tag! Beautiful Sightseeingtour.
Nice ride but why the termination at a crummy hotel in the middle of nowhere?!
What brand of vehicle is this?

Cool bus!
Great Video Man!
Thanks man!
Nice
You didn't receive a meal? When I went from Houston to Austin, there was a meal selection, either a salad or sandwich

You back in Dallas are you gonna ride the orange line dart train from lbj central station to akard tomorrow?

Hi just curious who is the bus manufacturer?
Motor Coach Industries (MCI)
Why to the Hilton? Why not downtown?

Can you fly kuwait airways frankfurt to kuwait
You might be better off taking Greyhound. At Greyhound would take you into Downtown Dallas

Couldn't finish it. The microscopic text and light color was almost impossible to read. Thanks for sharing though
It’s dumb that it terminates at the Hilton.
Not really. The Hyatt downtown is central as well as where it terminates. I’ve taken this bus and it was better than flying.
I-45
This is interesting until you learn it is cheaper to fly and get there much faster..

Airports are horrible these days. So are the airlines.
