I'm sorry it's so expensive, but it seems that Eden Bodyworks has discontinued this product. However, you can substitute raw shea butter, or any shea butter hair product to seal your ends)
HAIR PREP
I start with freshly washed and blow dried hair and I begin parting in the back. I always make the parts in the back bigger to help the process go by a bit quicker. Then I apply the hair products to the section: Sulfur8 conditioner to my scalp, EBIN edge tamer on my roots to smooth them down, Braid gel on the rest of my hair. Then I begin platting/braiding my hair - pass each strand at least 20 times. Then I combine the rest of my hair into 2 strands and rope twist down. When I get close to the end, I add a little of the hair balm to my fingertips and continue twisting in order to seal my ends. When I begin the plat, I leave the base of my hair a bit loose so that I have enough space to crochet the hair through it without snagging my hair or causing too much tension. I continue parting in a U fashion for the next 3 rows where I did the left side, right side, then the back. When I get to the top section, I part it in half and do the brick-layering parting method
INSTALL METHOD
I put the twists up in a ponytail and start in the back. I begin by inserting my crochet hook towards the direction I want the hair to cover. I insert the crochet hook towards the outward direction all along the perimeter and along the middle part so that the knots will cover my hair in those areas. I carefully crochet the loc into the bottom of the plat and pull both the loc and my twist through the loop to knot it. Then I insert the crochet hook into the the loc all the way to the base and pull my twist through.
INITIAL/1 WEEK REVIEW
I definitely think I could have gotten away with 5-6 packs if I made the parting at the top bigger. When I first installed it, it was too bulky at the top, in the areas where I wanted it be flatter so it can look more natural. However, after a week, it started to loosen up and fall more naturally. I also noticed that the ends started to get frizzy and a bit tangled due to friction.
