I just spent 15 minutes feeling well-advised and safe. Did NOT see #12 coming 😂 I love you for this. Tried blowing, tapping and cardboard without success. Contact cleaner (with lubrication) fixed it in my case.
Thanks, Dude! Your vid helped me to solve an "analog stick jumping problem" on my AYN Odin. I was not aware of "opening the rubber parts" of such analog sticks. Great stuff.
I went all out and opened the controller to put the paper in there. Holy cow my controller drift is actually gone and it is just like new. Thank you so much! I’ve been dealing with drift ever sense the switch was release you are actually so awesome I can’t thank you enough🎉❤❤!
I'm sure the problem causing the joy-con drift are the R3 and L3 buttons. I've seen a lot of things pointing to this. Just don't press down on the joy-cons/Switch Lite joy-stick and everything should be fine. Something about something bending when pressure is put on it. I read this somewhere. I'm planning on getting a Switch Lite for Christmas so I've been reading up on this.
So my left joycon has been acting weird all week. And the alcohol method as well as the air has fixed it for the most part. However looking inside the controller with a light shows me that having these same joycons since roughly 2017 has worn them out a bit. So dirt was partially the issue as well as being used like every day since 2017 so im buying new ones. 💀
very happy, no money spent, for me taking apart the thumb stick mechanism and cleaning it is isopropyl did the trick, first try, well after everything else failed, slow carful work payed off, thanks so much my man, you are doing Glob's work, may Math be with you.
thank you so much for this video, method 9 got my controller from being literally unusable (unable to go any direction but left) to like 85%-90% fixed!
Solution #1 solved my problem! I had no idea I was supposed to be updating my controllers. I’ve had my switch for 5+ years and never once updated them. Oops 🥴
The straw seemed to work well for me. I've been having joycon drift for a very long time and I got so tired of selecting the wrong options especially on my home screen!
Hate to correct the king but draining the battery will not do a lot for safety. It will have voltage in it even if it's not enough to power on the joycon plus the real danger is if you puncture the battery. You still the king though
If you read comments on other joycon videos, many have broken the little connector when disconnecting, which ruins the whole controller. I did all the repairs in this video without disconnecting (except method 12).
Myself I prefer number 12, after this I never had any issues with the controller neither with the console since this works for broken screen too, I tried on my pc but it seems its only for nintendo, if you have a way to get a drifting mouse to work let me know
Alcohol cleaning under the flap works great. Drift comes back every now and then, but it only takes 30 seconds to reaply the isopropenyl with the q tip.
If you think it's a pain to replace joycon thumb sticks, look up how to replace them on a switch lite. Still haven't replaced mine yet and I've had 2 replacement sticks for months now. It's more of a headache. I replaced my son's joycon and felt it wasn't too bad.
Gonna have to try this. I didn’t realize that hood was like silicon and not attatched and now theres a ton of dirt on my joy cons. Plus my constant playing splatoon keeping my right joycon stuck moving left for long periods of time now has it jammed moving left.
This doesnt have to do with stick drift but i turn to the left (with the joycon tuneed all the way to the edge) it turns faster than shen i turn right (with it pulled all the way to the right) and im not sure what to do
It's baffling to me that Nintendo keeps releasing new switch models with the same flawed joy cons without addressing the drift for good. Never seen anything like this
My drift diddnt go away after the paper methode so i just kept celebrating cuss bored and drift went away did it with the other joycon to works wonders

Contact cleaner (with lubrication) fixed it in my case.
Wait what lubrication? Did the contact cleaner act as a lube as well or did you use something else?
2-in-1 it's called EL-K80S from Kema.
i think number 12 is the best method it PERMANENTLY fixed my controller
This is the most useful tutorial out there! You explain things very well and with all the detail we need to know. Thank you so much!
The last one helped me the most!!! Thank you so much!!!
I think #12 is the most effective and permanent solution
Recalibrating is a good temporary fix as it minimizes the drift. Drift is still there but not as noticeable as it was.
tysm splatoon 2 was barely playable for several months and the alchohol method woked!!!
the blowing with the straw helped! Thanks a lot, Ive been having this issue for months, and was considering buying a replacement. THANKS SO MUCH!!

bro thank you so much,it annoyed me so much and when i used the straw method it’s finnaly normal, deserves like and sub!

There's really no way around it though. For example, in Metroid Dread pushing down gives you a speed boost, which is needed to find many hidden items.
@@HowToX yeah a lot of games you use it to select things
@@HowToX you can swap the buttons on the switch options menu

Oh my god, the 5th method WORKED! Thank you so much for the help 😇👍
The last one helped me so much. 💯% would recommend!
The 4th method helped me out so much! I subscribed.
Awesome
The most usefull tutorial after i search how to fix
I tried the method with the straw and it worked thanks
That's good. Much better than buying a new one.
@@HowToX agreed

The q-tip and alcohol did the job !
i can't believe i've never tried blowing into a straw before, that was so simple
Hate to correct the king but draining the battery will not do a lot for safety. It will have voltage in it even if it's not enough to power on the joycon plus the real danger is if you puncture the battery. You still the king though
Should I disconnect it?
Thanks. Unfortunately there are no good solutions. Draining is the best option. Having less power is better than having it fully charged.
If you read comments on other joycon videos, many have broken the little connector when disconnecting, which ruins the whole controller. I did all the repairs in this video without disconnecting (except method 12).
@@HowToX I understand that but draining the battery like you did does nothing for safety or anything like that.
Myself I prefer number 12, after this I never had any issues with the controller neither with the console since this works for broken screen too, I tried on my pc but it seems its only for nintendo, if you have a way to get a drifting mouse to work let me know
The secret method works well and fixed my controller 👍
Alcohol cleaning under the flap works great. Drift comes back every now and then, but it only takes 30 seconds to reaply the isopropenyl with the q tip.
Thanks so much. I did the first 3 and it works great now.
THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME FOR YEARS AND NOW I FIXED IT THANks
My controllers drift so bad that i literally have to time the A button to select stuff
Great video❗️ I had to replace my joy con and it worked because of you.thank u
The last technique really works. Now my brother is crying hard. We're now quits. LOL
#12 no need to recalibrate?
Omg when I tried 12th MY CONTROLLER WAS FIXED TYSM
I have no idea how but 2 fixed it! Thanks a lot!
That is quite surprising. Most have to do the blowing method to see improvement.
This was super helpful, thank you for the info 👍
You can also just go under the joystick with a dry q tip
It was step 2 for me 😂 thank you!!
Or you can add a 1mm shim behind the analog stick to strengthen the connection between the sensors and graphite pads
Thank u for method 6 it really worked thank u so much 🎉
Bro thank you so much I subscribed and liked
This helped so much! Thanks.
#1 helped thank you so much!!

Oh my god tysm I did all of the things till number 4 and it still didn’t work but when I got to the alcohol part it starting again tysmmmmmmmm
Gonna have to try this. I didn’t realize that hood was like silicon and not attatched and now theres a ton of dirt on my joy cons. Plus my constant playing splatoon keeping my right joycon stuck moving left for long periods of time now has it jammed moving left.
thank you , straw method worked for me
Thank you so much I appreciate your help
Fixed! Thank you!!!
Nice! 👍🏻😁
It actually helped thank i cleaned up the dust and all good now
Thank you method 12 worked well >:)
Ok method 12 was funny
I like method 12 if i can't fix it method 12 is goona be fun thanks 👍
This doesnt have to do with stick drift but i turn to the left (with the joycon tuneed all the way to the edge) it turns faster than shen i turn right (with it pulled all the way to the right) and im not sure what to do
Underrated
8:18 if you're that deep, may as well replace the damned stick my dude
That's what she said
the last one is the best
#5 worked for me :)
#12 should be number #1 in my opinion
It's baffling to me that Nintendo keeps releasing new switch models with the same flawed joy cons without addressing the drift for good. Never seen anything like this
Thankssssss 6 method !!!!
My drift diddnt go away after the paper methode so i just kept celebrating cuss bored and drift went away did it with the other joycon to works wonders
I tried first method 12, then all the others and nothing worked 😢
See I need this but with a diff controller
I used the straw method too
What?
Do I do my switch?Light drift popped out
Did all 12 drift is still there
the issue for me i pressed the thumbstick to hard that caused it to move it by itself
Idk but do u know why my controller keeps going crazy
It’s not working i have tryed calibrating updating and resync
I did the 12 one and it won't work again :(
That padding doesnt matter (i got mine almost day of release and mine has padding)
Bro I bought new joycons like a year ago and they have Joy con drift again
This rely help
So the last method is to just break it
Bro did nothing to none of these work until I saw the second one😅
Lmao at the ending
its sad that this is necessary, its worse if you own a lite
um nintendo will kill me for doing number 12
My brother making it sound like a raid for solo runners
I have the most broke switch ever there's so much wrong with it
Nothing worked
That’s a lot
What a snobby comment. Sorry for spending 40 hours putting this together for you.
Contra music
lets go im the 100th like
The last video was super stupid
That one fixed it for me (:
Thanks this actually helps. Thanks for the tip
